Flirting Under Favor (GL) - Chapter 7
“It’s me!” Mu Fan put her arm around Wang Lin and lightly scolded the side yard, where a large dog was kept on a chain. Perhaps seeing Wang Lin as a stranger, it was doing its duty as a guard dog, letting out a warning bark. Hearing Mu Fan’s voice, it grumbled a couple of times, lay down on the ground, and went back to sleep.
Wang Lin was still terrified, her chest heaving violently as she gasped for breath, having nearly been scared to tears.
“You scared me to death,” her voice held a hint of a sob. Spoiled since childhood, she had never experienced anything like this.
“There, there, don’t be afraid. It barked because it didn’t recognize you since this is your first time here. It’s on a chain, so even if it wanted to bite, it couldn’t reach you. Even without a chain, I wouldn’t let it hurt you,” Mu Fan held her in her arms, patting her back to soothe her nerves.
“Mhm.” Wang Lin stood up straight again, still feeling shaken. She glanced toward the yard; the dog was already fast asleep again.
“Let’s go, I live right up there.” Leading Wang Lin for another dozen steps, Mu Fan turned on her phone’s flashlight, pushed open the iron gate to the staircase, which made a grating sound in the silent night.
Turning on the dim hallway light, she led Wang Lin up the stairs, step by step. By the fifth floor, Wang Lin was panting heavily, covered in a fine sweat, with a few strands of hair clinging to her collarbone. Mu Fan looked away and teased her, “You’re so weak, how did you get through military training?”
“I just neglected my exercise over the winter break,” Wang Lin defended herself, gasping for breath against Mu Fan’s teasing. Then, gritting her teeth, she continued up the stairs, complaining internally about the lack of an elevator and the broken lights in the stairwell. However, considering the surroundings she had seen upon arriving, she could only resign herself.
Finally, after climbing another floor, Mu Fan said, “We’re here.” Wang Lin let out a long sigh of relief. “You worked hard,” Mu Fan said, smiling.
“It’s fine,” Wang Lin replied. Then she saw Mu Fan reach out and curve her hand towards her, as if to hug her. Wang Lin froze.
“The key.” In the next second, Mu Fan reached into the pocket of the coat Wang Lin was wearing and retrieved a set of keys.
Wang Lin hid her embarrassment and forced a smile. She knew what she was feeling in that brief moment: disappointment. But why would she be disappointed? It was just a hug; she hugged her classmates casually all the time.
Fortunately, Mu Fan didn’t notice the brief fluctuation in Wang Lin’s emotions, as she was preoccupied with opening the door.
“Come in.” She flipped on the light. The furnishings inside were simple but clean and tidy. The bright light swept away the previous gloom; it was like stepping into two different worlds.
Wang Lin could tell it was a micro-sized two-bedroom, one-living-room suite. The decor was very old, showing many traces of repair and modification, which Mu Fan must have done. It wasn’t large, but a property of the same size and configuration would fetch a high rent in other areas. Here, however, it couldn’t be very expensive; one should be thankful if it could be rented out at all.
Mu Fan turned on the air conditioner. With the abundant light, it was even clearer how thinly she was dressed. Wang Lin looked at the warm coat she was wearing and felt very guilty, making a gesture to take it off.
Mu Fan stopped her: “Don’t take it off yet. Wait until the room is a bit warmer, or you might catch a cold. Have a seat first.” She pointed to a sofa in the living room for Wang Lin to sit, then poured Wang Lin a cup of hot water and handed it to her. “Be careful, it’s hot. I’m going to tidy up a bit.”
Wang Lin said “Thank you,” unsure what Mu Fan needed to tidy up. She looked around.
Simple. Cold and quiet.
There were few decorative designs, and only the necessary furniture. The small space somehow looked both plain and empty.
Mu Fan held the air conditioner remote and opened the door to one of the bedrooms, but stood at the doorway and didn’t go in.
This was her mother’s bedroom. It had been a month since her mother left, but the bedroom still hadn’t been touched. In fact, Mu Fan hadn’t entered this bedroom for a month, let alone cleaned it. It must be dusty by now.
She closed the door again.
It definitely wouldn’t do for Wang Lin to sleep in there.
But sleeping with herself—Mu Fan hesitated. Because of her sexual orientation, she was usually very careful about boundaries with the same s3x. Sharing a bed was difficult.
But there was no other good solution. She bit her lip, having made a decision.
She walked up to Wang Lin, wearing an apologetic look: “That bedroom was my mom’s. It hasn’t been cleaned for a while.”
“It’s okay, I’ll sleep with you,” Wang Lin instantly understood the implication in Mu Fan’s words and stood up to say this. Holding the cup of water Mu Fan had given her, she looked very well-behaved.
“You don’t mind?” Mu Fan asked tentatively.
“No, I don’t mind,” Wang Lin felt Mu Fan’s question was unnecessary. “What is there to mind? I often sleep with my mom, and sometimes with my classmates.” As Wang Lin spoke, she suddenly realized that sleeping with her mom at her age wasn’t exactly something to boast about, and she lowered her head blushingly.
Mu Fan understood, thinking, Ah, straight girls are just like this. “Good, if you don’t mind. By the way, did you tell your roommates you wouldn’t be back tonight? Or do you live alone?” Mu Fan asked.
“Mhm, I already told them,” Wang Lin nodded.
“That’s good. So they won’t worry.” Mu Fan asked, “Do you want to take a shower?”
Wang Lin looked at Mu Fan, her expression seeming to ask: Can I?
Mu Fan said, “I have extra pajamas.”
“Mhm.”
Having received an answer, Mu Fan ran into her bedroom and came out shortly, holding a set of light pink cotton pajamas.
Wang Lin took them. In their brief acquaintance, Mu Fan seemed proud and cool in Wang Lin’s eyes, and looked good in dark-colored clothes. She hadn’t expected her to have pink pajamas.
Mu Fan led her to the bathroom: “Left is hot water, right is cold. Be careful not to scald yourself. Disposable toothbrushes are in this drawer. This is the shampoo, and this is the body wash. Call me if you need anything.”
“Okay.” Mu Fan closed the bathroom door. Wang Lin flipped through the pajamas and found a pair of small panties tucked inside. The logo looked familiar. Wang Lin recalled it was a brand of disposable items her mother, Lin Jia, bought on a trip once.
Wang Lin undressed, adjusted the water temperature, and amidst the rising steam, her fully developed young body was revealed.
Mu Fan in the living room heard the sound of running water and looked back at the bathroom. It had been a long time since there were sounds of anyone else in this apartment. No matter how strong a person is, they sometimes feel lonely.
She returned to her bedroom, sat at her desk, opened her computer, and began handling some work matters. She was a very focused person when working, so much so that she didn’t notice Wang Lin had finished her shower and was standing behind her.
Smelling the familiar scent of her own everyday body wash, Mu Fan turned her head. Wang Lin was standing at the door, hugging her clothes.
“I’m done showering.” The girl’s wet hair clung to the skin of her fair neck, and water traces were still visible on her face—just like a hibiscus rising from the water, Mu Fan thought.
The originally fitted soft cotton pajamas Mu Fan wore looked loose on her, yet they couldn’t conceal her exquisite figure. They were pink and tender, giving her a very cute look. Her gaze shifted down to her toes peeking out from the slippers, which were pink and adorable.
“Oh, the hairdryer is here.” Mu Fan picked up the hairdryer from the desk and handed it to her, pointing to the bedside, “The outlet is there.”
Wang Lin obediently sat on the bed and asked, “Will I disturb your work?”
“No, I’m done.” Mu Fan closed her laptop and picked up her own pajamas. “I’m going to wash up too.” With that, she left the bedroom.
By the time Mu Fan returned after her shower, Wang Lin had already dried her hair and was lying under the quilt, scrolling on her phone. Hearing Mu Fan enter, she glanced over. Mu Fan was wearing pajamas of a similar style to hers. Wang Lin felt a pang of disappointment. Given Mu Fan’s tall figure, she would probably look great in a nightgown-style pajama. She had a little selfish desire to see that. Her mother, Lin Jia, often wore them, but it was cold now, and the air conditioner hadn’t raised the room temperature by much, so this kind of warm pajama was better.
Wang Lin put down her phone, climbed out of the quilt, picked up the hairdryer, and looked eager to try something.
Mu Fan stood by the bed, confused.
Wang Lin looked at Mu Fan with a beaming smile: “I’ll help you blow-dry it.”
“No need, I can do it myself.” Mu Fan reached for the hairdryer, but Wang Lin dodged her.
“I want to blow-dry it!” Her voice was soft and gentle.
Mu Fan rubbed her forehead. It’s just blow-drying hair, why is she acting all spoiled?
“My mom often blow-dries mine, and I want to try blow-drying someone else’s.” Wang Lin’s eyes were pure and sparkling, looking like a child who, having been cared for for a long time, now wanted to learn to care for others.
Mu Fan’s heart softened.
“Fine.”
Mu Fan sat properly on the bed. Wang Lin happily knelt behind her, flipped the switch, and the hairdryer made a “whoosh” sound. Lifting a lock of wet hair, which still carried the clean scent of shampoo, the same as her own, Wang Lin pursed her lips and diligently dried it.
Mu Fan sat cross-legged, trying to keep her mind clear, but Wang Lin was moving around behind her, and the softness of her chest occasionally pressed against her back, making her stiffen her spine. The girl’s cool fingers weaved through her hair, occasionally touching her neck, sending shivers through her body.
Unintentional teasing is the most deadly.
Mu Fan’s mind wandered. She didn’t know how long it took, but the ordeal finally ended.
“All done.” The sound of the hairdryer stopped, and the room instantly became quiet. Mu Fan turned her head to look at Wang Lin, her eyes a little resentful from the long torture. The hairdryer was still in Wang Lin’s hand. Her eyes were bright, her pink lips slightly parted, revealing a row of cute little teeth.
She looked at Mu Fan like a child seeking praise after completing a task.
Mu Fan turned back, took the hairdryer from her hand, put it away, and gently said, “Thank you, you did a great job.”
Sure enough, Wang Lin’s face immediately broke into a delighted smile, her eyes turning into small crescents, and two dimples appearing on her plump cheeks.
“You’re welcome!” Wang Lin shifted her body, quite excited.
“Let’s go to sleep. It’s almost one o’clock. Do you have class tomorrow morning?” Mu Fan shifted her body, lifted the quilt, crawled in, and asked.
“I have class after nine.” Wang Lin also crawled under the covers, sleeping on the inner side. “When do you start work?”
“Nine as well. But I have to wake up at seven. Do you want to sleep in a little tomorrow morning?”
“Yes.”
“I’ll set the alarm volume lower.” Mu Fan picked up her phone to operate it. “But I usually wake up before the alarm goes off, so I shouldn’t wake you up.”
“Mhm.” The quilt covered half of Wang Lin’s head, making her voice muffled. She turned to face Mu Fan. “Do you play games? Computer games? I saw one on your computer just now,” she asked.
“Mhm, I play when I have free time. I got back too late today, so I didn’t even do my daily quests.”
“What about mobile games?”
“None.”
“Oh. Is it fun?”
“It’s alright. I’ve been playing for many years, it’s become a habit.” Mu Fan turned off the light, and the room fell into darkness. “Go to sleep now.”
“Okay, good night.”
“Good night.”
It was a double bed. A moderately small distance separated them. Fortunately, the blanket was large enough to cover both. Wang Lin shifted, wanting to move closer, but hesitated greatly. Some people don’t like too much physical contact. Since Mu Fan hadn’t actively moved over, she didn’t dare move closer either.
It was a little cold. Wang Lin curled up, clutching the quilt and closing her eyes.
In the silent night, a steady, soft breathing sound filled her ears. Mu Fan tilted her head to look. In the pitch black, she naturally couldn’t see anything, which only enhanced her imagination. Her brow must be relaxed, her eyes lightly closed, her eyelashes still, her breathing gentle, her soft lips slightly pursed, a small smile playing at the corners of her mouth. Her smooth long hair must be spread across her neck now, a stark contrast of black and white. Her body is so soft and fragrant…
What am I thinking?
Mu Fan turned her head back, let out a breath, and lifted a corner of the quilt. The cold air rushed in, instantly cooling her mind.
You can’t just fantasize about people like this just because you’ve been single for a long time, Mu Fan secretly cursed herself for being a beast. After settling her chaotic feelings, she turned her back to Wang Lin and finally fell asleep.
