Flirting with the Villain's Mother - Chapter 13
Shen Su spoke with genuine sincerity, her heart burning with a desire to personally execute Jiang An.
However, Wei Nanyi had fallen from grace over a decade ago and hadn’t encountered such raw sincerity in ages. More accurately, she hadn’t seen such bright eyes in years. Her own eyes were weary, while Jiang Xu’s were already consumed by hatred.
Noticing Wei Nanyi’s unease, Shen Su quickly suppressed her smile and said, “Madam taught me cultivation to protect myself. It’s only fair that I help you avenge yourself!”
“Fair,” Wei Nanyi murmured, her unfocused gaze gradually sharpening. In a low voice, she continued, “This is the Purple Transformation Jade Condensation Art. Miss Shen can use this technique for future cultivation.”
Shen Su froze in surprise.
The Purple Transformation Jade Condensation Art was a legendary cultivation technique from the original novel, a cheat-like ability. Yet here she was, receiving it so easily.
According to the original novel’s lore, cultivation techniques were classified into four tiers: Heavenly Tome, Earthly Tome, Profound Tome, and Spirit Tome. Each sect bestowed techniques based on a disciple’s innate talent. Outer sect disciples typically practiced Profound and Spirit Tome techniques, while inner sect disciples cultivated Heavenly and Earthly Tome techniques. However, smaller sects often lacked Heavenly Tome techniques altogether, making them accessible almost exclusively to disciples of the Four Great Sects.
Demonic Creatures, on the other hand, followed an entirely different cultivation system. From birth, they possessed their own unique cultivation techniques, etched into their very memories.
These techniques were not universally applicable, even among members of the same demonic race. Attempting to cultivate another’s technique could even incur divine retribution.
This led to a situation where some Demonic Creatures, despite their innate talent, remained unable to transform into human form. Their cultivation techniques lacked any instructions for transformation, driving them to plunder the cultivation techniques of living humans. However, due to the fundamental differences in their cultivation systems, only a handful of human techniques were compatible with demonic cultivation, and none of these included a Heavenly Tome.
The Purple Transformation Jade Condensation Art was a Heavenly Tome that did not belong to any of the Four Great Sects, and it was the only Heavenly Tome technique that Demonic Creatures could cultivate.
It first appeared on a cliff face at the bottom of a ravine on Approaching Immortals Mountain. The technique was the result of Jiang An’s dedicated research. The male lead relied on this technique to break through Wild Goose Jade Mountain and avoid certain death within its depths.
Setting aside Jiang An’s character, he was undeniably a genius. In a world where Demonic Creatures and Cultivators were fundamentally opposed, with completely different cultivation systems, he had somehow managed to develop a Heavenly Tome technique that could be cultivated by both Demons and living humans. While not universally applicable to every individual or Demon, this technique represented a monumental shift in the Cultivation World. It was also thanks to this technique that the male lead would later forge brotherhoods with so many powerful Demons.
But why did Wei Nanyi also know the Purple Transformation Jade Condensation Art?
Although Wei Nanyi and Jiang An had once been Dao partners, Jiang An now regarded Wei Nanyi as his enemy. Logically, he would never share such a valuable technique with her.
Before Shen Su could unravel this mystery, Wei Nanyi spoke, offering an explanation: “This cultivation technique is one I created myself. Although my master classified it as a Heavenly Tome, no one has ever practiced it before, so I’m unsure of its effectiveness. I should have taught you another Heavenly Tome technique, Miss Shen, but since you possess half-demon bl00d, this method might be the most suitable for you.”
Wait!
Wei Nanyi claimed she created this technique herself.
If Wei Nanyi had indeed created it, Shen Su could understand. Before her spiritual bone was severed, Wei Nanyi had never doubted Jiang An’s character, so she would naturally share her knowledge without reservation. It was she who had told Jiang An about the technique, not the other way around.
Wei Nanyi likely hadn’t developed the technique long ago, and no one had yet tested it. From her words, it seemed her master was aware of its existence.
However, after Wei Nanyi’s misfortune, her master had hastened his own death to help them escape Approaching Immortals Mountain. He likely hadn’t had time to inform the next Sect Leader about the Purple Transformation Jade Condensation Art. This allowed Jiang An to brazenly claim the technique as his own.
Everything now made sense.
Shen Su could understand why Jiang Xu knew nothing about the Purple Transformation Jade Condensation Art and had never practiced it. In the original novel, there was no mention of her role as a bl00d source. Without her bl00d to suppress the demon soul, Wei Nanyi’s time in human form would have been pitifully short. As a livestock creature, unable to see or speak, she would have had no opportunity to teach Jiang Xu the cultivation technique. Moreover, given the Purple Transformation Jade Condensation Art’s gentle nature, it wouldn’t have suited Jiang Xu’s excessively stubborn and violent temperament, so Wei Nanyi likely never considered mentioning it.
So, Wei Nanyi was the real cheat code all along.
No wonder Jiang An had plotted against her. With Wei Nanyi’s innate talent, Jiang An would have likely spent his entire life unable to topple the Goddess from her divine pedestal without resorting to underhanded tactics.
She was truly the sect’s unparalleled prodigy.
It was also no wonder the previous Sect Leader had valued Wei Nanyi so highly. Even on the brink of death, he had still sought to help Jiang Xu and Wei Nanyi escape danger.
So, in the original novel, the male lead used Wei Nanyi’s cultivation technique to kill Wei Nanyi’s own daughter… Jiang An is utterly shameless.
A brief silence fell over the tomb chamber.
Boom! Boom! Boom! Several thunderous crashes echoed through the chamber, extinguishing more of the lamps. Wei Nanyi, struggling to see what was happening, could only place her hopes in Shen Su. “Miss Shen, can you see anything?”
Shen Su immediately activated her cultivation technique, feeling a warm current flow through her meridians. Her limbs regained strength, and the dizziness from bl00d loss vanished.
As the technique circulated, the purple light in her eyes deepened, and the hazy, illusory figures reappeared before her. She saw the Jade-Eyed Fox again, but this time, Black-Eyed Foxes had joined the fray. The earlier sounds had been the clash between the Jade-Eyed Fox and the Black-Eyed Foxes.
Originally, two Jade-Eyed Foxes had been tugging at her hem. Now, one Black-Eyed Fox and one Jade-Eyed Fox pulled her in opposite directions—the Black-Eyed Fox to the left, the Jade-Eyed Fox to the right.
When the Black-Eyed Fox noticed Shen Su watching it, it suddenly opened its mouth and spewed torrents of black flames at her. Startled, Shen Su hastily shielded Wei Nanyi behind her. However, the flames never reached her. The moment the Black-Eyed Fox unleashed its fiery assault, the Jade-Eyed Fox countered with a stream of ethereal blue flames. The blue flames intercepted the black flames, leaving only a faint burning sensation on Shen Su’s skin.
Shen Su’s breath hitched slightly as she marveled at the miraculous scene unfolding before her.
Fortunately, she quickly regained her composure and began recounting the scene in the tomb chamber to Wei Nanyi: “Madam, many Black Foxes attacked me, but the Jade-Eyed Fox protected me.”
Hearing about the Black Foxes and that they were still under attack, Wei Nanyi’s expression darkened slightly.
She lowered her gaze in contemplation, murmuring softly, “The Pixiang Mirror Dragon Formation is typically used to guard the tomb chamber’s treasures. However, the treasures left by our predecessors were usually intended for their descendants. Since Miss Guiyan transformed herself into the formation, she must have left something for her heirs. The Fox’s offering of treasure must be correct. Could it be…?”
Realizing the truth, Wei Nanyi lifted Shen Su’s hand and tore off the embroidered handkerchief covering the wound.
The bleeding from Shen Su’s wound had already stopped. Wei Nanyi pursed her lips slightly and gently bit down on the wound.
Her strength was truly meager. Despite her efforts, she couldn’t draw bl00d. It felt more like a delicate lamb nibbling fresh grass—warm, faintly fragrant, and barely grazing the skin.
Her breath stirred the fine downy hairs on Shen Su’s arm, causing it to gradually warm. Yet Wei Nanyi seemed oblivious, neither releasing Shen Su nor easing the pressure between her lips and teeth. She simply increased the force, still failing to pierce Shen Su’s flesh.
As Wei Nanyi’s lips and teeth pressed harder against the back of Shen Su’s hand, Shen Su’s face flushed crimson, the blush slowly spreading across her skin. The hand Wei Nanyi held trembled in her palm, yet Shen Su didn’t pull it away. Her voice shook as she whispered, “Madam, let me do it.”
Wei Nanyi finally realized the impropriety of her actions. But with both of them completely naked and only their teeth sharp enough, who would have thought she couldn’t even break Shen Su’s skin?
Her face burning, she released Shen Su’s hand and quickly explained in a soft voice, “Miss Shen, your ancestors must have left something for you. Perhaps the deeper we go, closer to the Formation’s core, the more crucial it becomes to verify your lineage. You might need to shed some bl00d.”
“I understand,” Shen Su replied.
She wasn’t foolish. She could feel Wei Nanyi’s intention to bite through her skin, even if she lacked the strength.
Shen Su raised her hand, the wound on its back originally self-inflicted. But now, her state of mind was entirely different. The wound was still damp, with fresh droplets clinging to it, and a faint, sweet fragrance lingered in the air. Shen Su’s eyelids fluttered as she considered whether to bite in a different spot. Before she could decide, she had already pressed her teeth down where Wei Nanyi had bitten before.
She tasted her own bl00d, but a sweet, lingering flavor filled her mouth.
Shen Su’s face flushed even deeper, losing the courage to look at Wei Nanyi.
As bl00d gushed from the wound and dripped onto the ground, the Black-Eyed Foxes instantly transformed into Jade-Eyed Foxes. As the Bl00d Qi intensified, the foxes began to solidify, ceasing their infighting and instead dragging Shen Su toward a single point.
Shen Su, hand in hand with Wei Nanyi, remained silent. After a long while, Shen Su finally asked, “Why hasn’t Madam’s demon soul emerged?”
Wei Nanyi finally spoke again, her voice regaining its clarity: “Miss Guiyan’s residual power lingers in this tomb. They dare not surface.”
Shen Su recalled Wei Nanyi mentioning that the Mirror Quilt’s bloodline could suppress the Demonic Creatures of Wild Goose Jade Mountain. In this world, most powerful Demonic Creatures originated from that mountain. It was clear that Jiang An, seeking to alter Wei Nanyi’s bloodline, would never have used ordinary livestock.
It seemed that most of the demon souls within Wei Nanyi came from Wild Goose Jade Mountain, explaining why her bloodline exerted a suppressive effect on them. This was likely why Wei Nanyi had regained her human form upon touching Shen Su’s bl00d.
Shen Su raised her hand, bl00d still dripping from the back of it. She extended her hand toward Wei Nanyi’s lips. “Madam, would you like a drink? It might help you maintain your human form longer.”
Wei Nanyi was startled. “When did you figure this out, Miss Shen?”
“It wasn’t difficult to guess,” Shen Su replied.
Wei Nanyi chuckled bitterly. “Thank goodness it wasn’t Xu’er who figured it out.”
At the mention of Jiang Xu, Shen Su shuddered. “If Miss Jiang finds out, I’ll have to beg you to plead for mercy on my behalf. Tell her not to kill me—I’m perfectly willing to serve as a long-term bl00d source for you both.”
Wei Nanyi paused, puzzled. “Are you truly so willing to follow Xu’er?”
Shen Su had no desire to follow Jiang Xu; she wanted to stay with Wei Nanyi.
While she didn’t dislike Jiang Xu, the man was volatile and unpredictable, and she felt no gratitude toward him.
Wei Nanyi, on the other hand, was different. Shen Su wanted to repay her kindness, perhaps for other reasons as well. She also understood that staying with Jiang Xu was the only way to remain by Wei Nanyi’s side.
After a long moment of contemplation, Shen Su said, “Miss Jiang’s abilities are extraordinary. Being by her side brings a sense of security.”
