Forced to Love (GL) - Chapter 1
Lingxi kept her eyes closed, surrounded by endless darkness. She didn’t know how much time had passed when a sudden light appeared before her, causing her to slightly turn her head. After a brief moment, she suddenly opened her eyes.
Everything around her was silent, as if time had paused. Lying in front of her was a girl around seventeen or eighteen years old, wearing a school uniform. The white and blue fabric was soaked with bl00d, the red stain on her chest strikingly vivid. Not far away, there was a sharp corner of a flower bed with fresh bl00d on it.
Lingxi narrowed her eyes slightly, a sharp glint flashing through them. As she looked around, she saw three other girls of the same age standing nearby, their uniforms messy. Their faces showed panic, their young expressions twisted with fear and guilt.
Suddenly, a white light emerged next to the girl lying on the ground. Lingxi’s previously lowered hand slowly rose, following the direction of the light. The glowing white energy floated gently in the air. She observed it for a while before slowly opening her palm. The light hovered for a few seconds before finally gathering into her hand.
“Rest in peace.”
After Lingxi spoke, the light gradually scattered into countless tiny stars and disappeared. Then, she waved her hand, and time rewound. Everything around her retreated back to the moment she had chosen.
The entire scene flickered and was once again swallowed by endless darkness.
……
“Yao Jingzhu!”
A sharp voice suddenly rang out above her, bringing Lingxi back to consciousness.
“What?”
Lingxi looked up and saw two girls standing beside her desk. The one who had called her name stood on the right, watching her with an amused expression. However, when she didn’t see the usual fear on Lingxi’s face, a trace of disappointment flashed across her eyes.
“We need to talk. Come with us.”
“Okay.”
Lingxi stood up and followed them out of the classroom. She recognized them. They were two of the three girls she had seen in the previous scene. Leading the way was Mi Tongtong, her classmate.
The body she was now inhabiting belonged to Yao Jingzhu, a second-year student at No. 7 High School.
It was still the break after the afternoon classes. Evening self-study wouldn’t start until seven, and most students had already gone to eat dinner.
According to Yao Jingzhu’s memories, Mi Tongtong had called her out for the so-called “protection fee” again. In this incident, Mi Tongtong and her followers had taken the money but still pushed Yao Jingzhu around. During the struggle, Yao Jingzhu had accidentally hit her head on the sharp corner of the flower bed.
Lingxi followed them to a secluded corner of the outdoor tennis court, far from the teaching building. There, another person was already waiting.
That person greeted Mi Tongtong before turning to Lingxi, who was walking behind. After getting Mi Tongtong’s approval, she sneered, “Oh, finally here.”
Lingxi looked at them with an indifferent expression. Her gaze was cold, as if she weren’t really there.
Seeing that Lingxi wasn’t reacting as expected, the girl standing next to Mi Tongtong grew impatient and stepped forward, extending her hand. “Give us the money!”
Lingxi’s gaze landed on her without any warmth. “What money?”
“Yao Jingzhu, did you forget your brain today?”
Mi Tongtong signaled to her follower.
The girl beside her approached Lingxi. “Since you forgot, let me remind you!”
As she spoke, she raised her foot to kick Lingxi. However, Lingxi subtly shifted her body and swiftly countered. She stepped on the girl’s thigh and exerted force, sending her crashing to the ground.
The entire sequence happened within seconds. By the time the others reacted, the girl was already sprawled on the ground, clutching her leg in pain. Her eyes were filled with shock and fear. Clearly, she hadn’t expected Yao Jingzhu—who had always been timid and submissive—to fight back.
Lingxi flexed her fingers slightly. The girl on the ground gasped, scrambling backward in fear. But after the sudden impact, she could barely stand on her own.
“You… you…” The girl stuttered.
“I don’t have any money.”
Lingxi didn’t spare her another glance and directed her words to Mi Tongtong.
“Yao Jingzhu, you dare fight back?!”
Mi Tongtong’s eyes flickered with panic, something Lingxi caught onto immediately. However, due to her long-standing dominance and the presence of her followers, Mi Tongtong still tried to maintain her facade of authority. “Aren’t you afraid I’ll make your life miserable at school?!”
Lingxi took a step toward her. Mi Tongtong instinctively backed up, but Lingxi was faster. She grabbed Mi Tongtong’s hand and yanked her toward the sharp corner of the flower bed.
Mi Tongtong’s face turned pale as she realized what was happening. Seeing the sharp edge getting closer, she screamed and struggled desperately, her survival instincts kicking in. But Lingxi’s grip was unnaturally strong, and she couldn’t break free.
Just as she was about to hit the flower bed, Lingxi suddenly pulled her back and let go. Mi Tongtong lost balance and fell heavily onto the ground.
“Ah…!”
After her scream, she was left panting, her face drained of color. Sweat dripped down her forehead, soaking her wrinkled school uniform.
After this dramatic scene, none of the three girls dared to speak. They simply looked at Lingxi in fear.
“What are you doing?!”
A deep, stern male voice suddenly cut through the air. The three girls flinched before one of them burst into tears.
“Instead of eating dinner after school, you’re loitering here?” The man walked over and stood between them; his expression serious. He scrutinized them before noticing Mi Tongtong wiping her tears and softening his tone slightly. “What happened?”
Lingxi remained silent.
The only girl still standing received Mi Tongtong’s signal and helped her up. Mi Tongtong pretended to struggle to stand and spoke in a pitiful voice, “Mr. Yang… she hit me…”
The girl on the ground quickly chimed in, “Yes, yes! Mr. Yang, she hit us…”
Mr. Yang turned his gaze to Lingxi. “Which class are you in? Fighting at school? Is this how you’ve been taught?!”
“Mr. Yang, I was acting in self-defense,” Lingxi replied calmly.
“Self-defense?” Mr. Yang frowned, pushing up his glasses. He looked at the crying girls and then back at Lingxi. “You’re saying that these three tried to attack you, but you fought back and they ended up on the ground?”
“Yes.”
“Nonsense! All of you, come to the office with me!”
Lingxi frowned slightly. Things were getting complicated.
“Wait.”
A soft female voice suddenly interrupted. To Lingxi, the sound was like an echo in a deep valley—clear, lingering. She quickly turned to see who had spoken.
“Mr. Yang, the situation is not as they claim.”
A girl in a neat white and blue school uniform approached. She was slender, with a high ponytail and a few loose strands of hair framing her face. Her features were delicate, her expression cool and composed.
“Ah, it’s you, Shen.” Mr. Yang’s sternness faded slightly.
Shen glanced at Lingxi and then said, “I passed by and saw that they started it.”
With Shen’s testimony and the surveillance footage, the truth was revealed, leading to punishments for Mi Tongtong’s group. Afterward, Lingxi caught up with Shen, thanking her.
Shen simply replied, “Next time, just go to a teacher.” Then, without looking back, she walked away.
Lingxi watched her until she disappeared from sight, then quietly opened her palm. A radiant white light emerged, revealing a mysterious crystal-like object—a sign of her true purpose in this world.
