Forced to Love (GL) - Chapter 70
For a moment, Lingxi thought she was hearing things.
But Qin Sui looked straight at her and said again, “You didn’t force me.”
Lingxi took a while to process it before realizing that Qin Sui was answering the question she had asked earlier—”Did I force you?”
Qin Sui smiled slightly, tapping Lingxi’s forehead with her curved index finger. “Do you think just anyone can make me their caged bird?”
Lingxi didn’t say anything, just looking at her. For some reason, her reaction was slow. From Qin Sui’s smile to the hand resting on her forehead, to her tone and the way her voice trailed off—it all took Lingxi a long time to digest.
It was strange. Even though her heart wasn’t being pressed anymore, its beating still echoed in her ears.
Qin Sui waited and then asked, “Do you understand?”
Lingxi’s chest rose and fell, warmth slowly spreading from her breath. She hesitated before saying uncertainly, “Because of me?”
Qin Sui chuckled. “What’s going on, Wei Lingxi? Haven’t I made it obvious enough?”
She didn’t call her “Little Wei Boss” this time—just her name.
Qin Sui’s eyes sparkled like shattered starlight, falling in scattered fragments, carrying a warm glow.
Lingxi rubbed her nose awkwardly. “It’s not that it’s not obvious…”
Qin Sui brushed aside a stray lock of Lingxi’s hair. “Then what is it?”
Lingxi slightly avoided her gaze and stayed silent.
Qin Sui understood. “Oh, you think because you’re my financial backer, I had no choice but to act this way toward you?”
She paused, then let her fingers slide down Lingxi’s face. The moment her fingertips tightened, she pinched Lingxi’s earlobe. “Is that it?”
It felt like sparks were spreading, burning toward her, but Qin Sui’s slight grip forced Lingxi to meet her eyes directly.
Lingxi’s cool earlobe was caught between two warm fingertips, gradually turning a soft shade of pink from the heat.
Saying “yes” didn’t feel right, but saying “no” wasn’t right either. Lingxi was stuck, unsure how to answer.
After a while, she finally looked into Qin Sui’s eyes and said seriously, “I’ve never kept a caged bird before.”
“I have no experience, so I don’t know how two people are supposed to interact.”
Qin Sui suddenly chuckled softly. “Did you never look into me?”
Lingxi shook her head. “No.”
“Why not?”
Lingxi thought for a moment and then said, “Qin Sui, female, twenty-nine years old. Graduated from a prestigious university abroad. Entered the entertainment industry after returning to the country. Won Best Actress at an international film festival for *Nine Curved River*. Two years ago, won Best Actress at the country’s three major film awards, including the oldest *Hundred Flowers* and *Golden Rooster*, for *Winter Night*. Her latest film, *Autumn Rain*, is expected to be nominated for the *Huabiao* award by the end of the year.”
After finishing the long passage without pause, Lingxi saw Qin Sui leaning slightly against the seat, her fingers grazing Lingxi’s earlobe.
Lingxi continued, “This is all from Baidu. Your fans summarized it clearly. Someone even made a timeline, so there was no need to investigate.”
But Qin Sui half-smiled and asked, “What else?”
“What else?” Lingxi paused and then said, “Your zodiac sign is Monkey, your star sign is Libra, your birthday is October 23rd.”
Qin Sui tapped her earlobe lightly and said, “So, instead of hiring someone to investigate, you looked up my information online yourself?”
“Mm.”
Qin Sui’s smile deepened. Her fingers left Lingxi’s earlobe and slid down her neck. Then she hooked her fingers around Lingxi’s shirt collar, pulling her closer. “Why didn’t you just ask me?”
The moment she was pulled in, warm breath fell on her lips. Lingxi froze.
It was only after a moment that she realized—Qin Sui didn’t look like someone who had taken off her makeup at all.
Her skin was so fair, her features so beautifully defined. The curve of her lips carried a faint hint of red, making it impossible for Lingxi to look away.
The car was silent. Lingxi had one hand braced against the armrest in the middle, the other against the seat behind Qin Sui. Her collar was still hooked by Qin Sui’s fingers—she couldn’t move back.
Her waist was slightly bent. Her left knee was pressed against Qin Sui’s thigh, and her right knee rested against the seat between Qin Sui’s legs.
In this delicate position, Qin Sui’s right leg was also pressed against her.
Lingxi glanced downward—more precisely, Qin Sui’s leg was against the inside of her thigh.
This was dangerous.
“Mm?”
Qin Sui’s soft nasal sound sent a tremor through Lingxi’s already tense nerves.
Her legs nearly gave out.
Qin Sui said, “Say something.”
Lingxi took a difficult breath. “There’s no need to ask you about these things. If there were more, the internet wouldn’t have them,” she said, tilting her head slightly. “If you wanted to tell me, you would.”
Qin Sui asked, “Playing hard to get?”
Lingxi murmured, “I wouldn’t dare. I just think personal information should be shared with the person’s consent.”
Qin Sui chuckled lightly. “Qin Sui, born in Jiangnan. Doesn’t like bitter melon. Eats all kinds of fruit. But the person I like—there’s only one. This is the third year I’ve liked her.”
“My parents are in the military. My grandparents and maternal grandparents passed away early. I’m an only child.”
“I was raised with love, but also influenced by military discipline, so I became independent early.”
“I own a studio and have signed one singer and two actors.”
She paused and gently lifted Lingxi’s chin. Her gaze was deep yet soft. “I forgot to say—the person I like is Wei Lingxi.”
Lingxi swallowed involuntarily—not because she wanted to, but because she couldn’t control it.
This time, Qin Sui noticed and laughed softly.
Her fingers brushed over Lingxi’s throat, then slowly traced back up.
Lingxi’s earlobe, once pinched, grew hotter and hotter. The air in the car felt thick with warmth.
There were too many things to process in an instant.
Like how Qin Sui didn’t like bitter melon, was an only child, and had military parents. Or how she owned a studio, primarily for herself.
But most of all, Lingxi’s thoughts were consumed by the fact that Qin Sui had liked her—for three years.
Scenes flashed through Lingxi’s mind like a film, but she couldn’t pinpoint when, exactly, Qin Sui had started liking her.
Qin Sui gave her some time, but she still didn’t say a word.
So Qin Sui said, “Little Wei Boss, this won’t do.”
Lingxi barely snapped out of her daze. “What won’t do?”
Qin Sui guided her patiently. “Business is about give and take, right?”
“Right?”
Qin Sui smiled lightly. Her hand slid around Lingxi’s neck, pulling her down a little. “I’ve said I like you twice now, but you haven’t said it even once.”
This time, Lingxi couldn’t even think *this is dangerous*.
As she was pulled downward, her mind was torn between resisting and surrendering.
She was too close now—not just to Qin Sui’s hand around her neck, but also to her gaze, her slightly curved lips, her scent.
Every little thing was like countless invisible hands, pulling Lingxi in, making it impossible to escape.
Half resigned, half overwhelmed, Lingxi said, “I like you.”
Qin Sui smiled. “Who do you like?”
“I like you.”
Qin Sui asked again, “Do I have a name?”
Lingxi took a breath. Her eyes shone like starlight as she said, “I like you; I like Qin Sui. Wei Lingxi likes Qin Sui.”
Qin Sui’s eyes curved in satisfaction. She laughed softly, her breath brushing against Lingxi’s ear.
Qin Sui said, “Good girl. Should I give you a reward?”
“What—”
Before she could finish, Qin Sui pulled her down and kissed her.
It wasn’t a light, dragonfly-like kiss—it was deep, passionate, and heart-stirring. Bit by bit, it took away Ling Xi’s breath and sealed her lips, while the hand behind her neck blocked any chance of escape.
Qin Sui was almost clinging completely to Ling Xi. Ling Xi unconsciously bent down, her slender waist curving to match the shape of the person beneath her.
Qin Sui kissed Ling Xi, then spoke against her lips, “You taste so sweet.”
Her breath was warm, seeping into the bones.
The tip of Qin Sui’s tongue gently traced along the outline of Ling Xi’s lips. She circled her lower lip, barely touching it, then lightly brushed her leg along the inside of Ling Xi’s thigh.
Ling Xi’s chest rose and fell violently. When Qin Sui slightly slowed her movements again, Ling Xi slowly raised both hands. Her voice was hoarse as she said, “Sui Sui, I was wrong.”
