Forced to Romance the Omega Psychiatrist (GL, ABO) - Chapter 3
Drenched from head to toe, Xia You stepped out of the elevator into the underground parking lot of the shopping mall, water dripping as she located her car. By the time she slid into the driver’s seat, she was still soaking wet.
She couldn’t even recall how she had made it to her car, only that her shirt clung to her skin, cold and uncomfortable, reminding her of that day when her heat cycle had arrived early…
Darkness, ambiguity, damp and sticky.
The pheromones of her heat and the scent of an alpha had filled the room, her memory flooded with the obscene sounds of wet skin and the moans that still made her blush just thinking about them. But if she had known it was Bai Shuixi back then, she would never have, Xia You bit her lip.
Hastily shutting herself inside the car, she raised an arm to cover her face, as if blocking out the world could stifle the shame. Yet the image of that woman’s elegant collarbones and pale skin still flickered in her mind, the sensation of lying on the cold, hard office table resurfacing against her back.
She distinctly remembered Li Wei entering her office, so how had it turned into Bai Shuixi when she came to her senses?
It couldn’t be.
Panicked, Xia You fumbled for her phone and dialed Li Wei’s number in a fluster, desperate to clarify what she hadn’t been able to explain earlier.
The first call went to voicemail. The second finally connected.
“Hey, Xia Xia,” Li Wei’s calm voice came through the phone, slightly deepened by the speaker.
“Weiwei,” Xia You’s eyes reddened again at the sound, tears spilling over as she slumped against the steering wheel. “Weiwei, please listen to me. I really didn’t mean for any of this to happen. It’s you, I loveonly you. That’s never changed.”
Li Wei fell silent for a moment, her faint breath audible through the line, the quiet rejection unmistakable.
Xia You froze, her sobs halting as she whispered in disbelief, “Weiwei?”
Li Wei sighed softly, her tone resigned yet painfully rational when she spoke again. “Xia Xia, I have work to deal with right now. I know things might not be exactly as I thought, but we both need some time to cool off.”
Xia You said nothing. In the brief moment she hesitated, the call ended abruptly, as if eager to cut off any further pleas. Staring at her phone as it returned to the chat interface, Xia You blinked slowly. A final tear rolled down her cheek, mingling with the rainwater on her clothes.
By the time she regained her senses, she had no idea how long she’d been sitting in the driver’s seat.
Outside, the rain continued to fall.
Drops pattered against the windshield, blurring her vision, but when she drove out of the garage, that slender, tall figure was no longer standing where she had been.
As if escaping further torment, Xia You quickly turned the wheel and sped away toward her apartment.
…
Not long after hanging up on Xia You, the Porsche slowly pulled into Jiahe Entertainment’s parking garage.
Li Wei, seated in the back, put on her sunglasses and stepped out. Her office was on the fifth floor, where artists usually waited for her when they had no schedules. But this time, when she pushed the door open, no one was inside.
Glancing at the message on her phone, “Urgent, come see me now”Li Wei frowned.
Zhou Wanwan wasn’t playing this kind of trick for the first time, but Li Wei didn’t feel like going after her today. The rain outside was so heavy, she really couldn’t be bothered to go out and smell that cold, damp scent of rainwater.
LV: [Where did you go?]
LV: [Don’t be willful. Reply to me right now.]
Both messages were sent into the void, with no response. Li Wei couldn’t help but pinch the bridge of her nose. Zhou Wanwan’s personality was always such a headache. At her best, she was like a beautiful yet temperamental sprite utterly unpredictable. At her worst, there were no words to describe her.
“Guess who?”
Just as Li Wei was feeling helpless, her eyes were suddenly covered. A rich, alluring fragrance wafted over from behind her, accompanied by a lively, slightly sweet voice whispering in her ear.
Li Wei knew that voice all too well, it was Zhou Wanwan.
Li Wei paused, her tone softening slightly. “You’re here.”
“Of course I am,” Zhou Wanwan replied matter-of-factly, releasing her hands. She was holding a pair of high heels as she stepped away from Li Wei’s desk. “Well? Didn’t hear my footsteps, did you?”
She was wearing only a thin, emerald-green silk slip dress that swayed with her movements, accentuating her graceful figure and striking waist-to-hip ratio. Her long, captivating legs ended in slender, pale feet that barely touched the ground, her steps as light as a dance.
Li Wei glanced down at Zhou Wanwan’s feet. “You’re not wearing shoes?”
“Nope,” Zhou Wanwan said, casually tossing the heels aside without a care for whether the five-figure designer shoes would break or get scratched. She sat barefoot on the small sofa in Li Wei’s office, resting her arms on the armrests. Her long, straight legs curled up on the not-so-spacious seat as she propped her chin on her hand, sitting like a mermaid. “Otherwise, you would’ve heard me coming.”
Li Wei’s gaze lingered on Zhou Wanwan, her movements faltering slightly.
The emerald-green slip dress barely covered anything. Zhou Wanwan’s delicate collarbones and slender, elegant shoulders were fully exposed, the alluring curves of her chest faintly visible beneath the fabric. Even the lines of her arms, propping up her chin, were flawless not a single imperfection.
She was breathtakingly beautiful.
And Zhou Wanwan’s looks leaned toward the “innocent yet seductive” type.
When she had covered Li Wei’s eyes, her face had seemed full of innocence, like a clueless deer. But once the veil was lifted, it was clear that her naturally alluring eyes held an entire galaxy within them deep, affectionate, and full of unspoken words.
Paired with her small, rounded nose and full, rosy lips, it was no wonder Li Wei often found herself staring at Zhou Wanwan in a daze.
“What?” Zhou Wanwan tilted her head knowingly, a playful smile on her lips.
Li Wei snapped out of it, realizing she had been staring again. She forced her expression to turn stern. “What exactly did you call me back for?”
Zhou Wanwan let out a soft “tch” and averted her gaze, twirling a lock of her long hair around her finger, a gesture that, coming from her, carried its own charm. “I heard you went to see that childhood friend of yours, so I thought I’d check in. So? Is your pretty little darling still as pretty as ever? I remember she had quite the crush on you.”
“What nonsense are you talking about?” Li Wei instinctively retorted, glancing at the office door before lowering her voice. “Why are you even asking when things are like this between us? I already said I treat her like a younger sister.”
“Oh… a younger sister,” Zhou Wanwan drawled, her tone loaded with implication. “No wonder Xia You came running to her dear ‘sister’ first when she got bullied.”
Li Wei froze, frowning suspiciously. “What did you say?”
Before Zhou Wanwan could answer, Li Wei stood up abruptly, staring at her. “How would you know about this?” Even she had only learned about it after meeting Xia You and hearing it directly from her.
“Well…” Zhou Wanwan’s gaze shifted evasively, unable to provide a reasonable explanation.
Li Wei read the answer from her reaction. “You were behind what happened to Xia You?! You were involved?!”
“Hey, don’t shout at me,” Zhou Wanwan said petulantly. “I just had someone give her a flower sprayed with Omega pheromones. The stuff evaporates quickly, and the flower was taken away afterward. It’s Xia You’s own bad luck for keeping quiet so long there’s no evidence left now. Nothing will come of it.”
“That’s not the point!” Li Wei was furious. “Why would you target her for no reason?”
Zhou Wanwan shot Li Wei a sidelong glance, her expression cooling. “I couldn’t stand how peaceful her life was, how clean. Does that satisfy you? And don’t blame me, if it weren’t for you being in the middle, I wouldn’t even know her. Honestly, I was just jealous.”
Li Wei was beside herself with anger. “You?”
She knew Zhou Wanwan could be more ruthless than most when her temper flared, but she hadn’t expected her to go this far. Xia You was just a psychologist, completely unconnected to their world yet she had still become a victim.
“What, are you going to scold me now?” Zhou Wanwan met Li Wei’s gaze fearlessly. “You might want to consider how many upcoming dramas, endorsements, and red carpets I have lined up for the second half of the year. My commercial value is still rising.”
Li Wei hesitated, swallowing her words. Zhou Wanwan wasn’t wrong she had indeed invested heavily in her for the coming months.
Noticing the shift in Li Wei’s expression, Zhou Wanwan paused, then abruptly softened. Her earlier coldness melted away as she gave a charming, coquettish smile. Lightly, she rose and perched on Li Wei’s desk, pressing her back into her chair. “Come on, I was just teasing. I don’t like it when you’re distracted by someone else while managing me… You and I climbed up from the bottom together, after all.”
Li Wei looked up at Zhou Wanwan’s face, a striking blend of decadent allure and delicate purity and exhaled softly. When she had first taken Zhou Wanwan on as a client, it had been during the woman’s lowest point.
Back then, Zhou Wanwan had just been embroiled in a scandal involving intimate photos, and the backlash had been brutal.
She had debuted years earlier but had no notable works to her name, her fame relying solely on her looks and various rumors. Her fans were devoted spenders, but far more people despised her, as if they bore some deep personal grudge, hurling every vicious insult they could muster.
Everyone thought Zhou Wanwan was finished. She had just joined Jiahe Entertainment not long ago and was still a newcomer.
But it was through skillful maneuvering that she brought Zhou Wanwan back into the spotlight not only crafting a new “eccentric artist” persona to rehabilitate her reputation but also securing numerous opportunities for her, allowing her to successfully shape several standout roles.
Li Wei was promoted because of Zhou Wanwan, and Zhou Wanwan relied on Li Wei to make a comeback. At least for now, Li Wei wasn’t willing to part ways with her.
“Alright, alright,” Li Wei waved her hand with a slight headache. “Aren’t you supposed to accompany the heiress of Queen’s Jewelry to the exhibition? Hurry up and go. Leave this matter to me.”
Zhou Wanwan smiled with alluring charm, picked up the mirror on Li Wei’s desk to check her makeup, then blew her a sultry kiss. “I knew you were the best, darling. Just wait and see what kind of resources I can bring back for us.”
