Over a dozen trending hashtags were rapidly gaining traction on Weibo.
The word “EXPLOSIVE” stood out prominently in several of them.
[Xiao Yanjin? That playgirl who’s always at bars and clubs picking up girls.]
[Playgirl? That’s too generous, she’s a scumbag Alpha through and through. The number of girlfriends and boyfriends she’s had is countless. How could the Ji family’s eldest daughter ever be interested in an Alpha like her?]
[I heard the Ji family’s eldest daughter studied abroad at a top university, she’s the epitome of a wealthy, beautiful elite. The Xiao family is bankrupt now, how does a scumbag like Xiao Yanjin even qualify for a blind date? Isn’t this just an outright insult?]
Xiao Yanjin opened her eyes groggily to the morning light streaming through the window.
She found herself in what seemed to be a public restroom. Suddenly, several faces appeared above her, and one girl sneered, “Oh, not dead yet?”
Xiao Yanjin silently got up, her head throbbing painfully. When she touched it, her fingers came away with bl00d.
“Who are you?” she asked politely.
“Did we hit her so hard she got amnesia?” someone whispered cautiously.
The girl scoffed. “I think she’s faking it!”
A boy shoved her. “Xiao Yanjin, no wonder you never pay us back, your family’s bankrupt now.”
“I heard she’s supposed to go on a blind date with the Ji family’s eldest daughter. With her reputation, the young lady might not even show up.”
“Does she deserve it? The Ji family’s eldest daughter is praised as elegant and refined like an orchid among jade trees. Xiao Yanjin? Just a spoiled, scummy Alpha.”
“Blind date?” Xiao Yanjin was completely stunned.
“What blind date?”
The group froze at her words before bursting into mocking laughter.
“Wow, someone actually dares to look down on the Ji family’s eldest daughter. You’re really something.”
“Yeah, with your trashy, messy personal life, you still have the nerve to eye someone else’s plate while eating from your own. You’re shameless.”
“Scumbag Alphas stay scumbag Alphas. Remember when she made headlines for joyriding with a bunch of Omegas and got pulled over by the cops?”
As their insults rained down, Xiao Yanjin couldn’t help but pick at her ear.
She asked, “For real? But I don’t even know how to ride a motorcycle.”
“You’re unbelievable!” the girl snapped. “I don’t care if you remember the blind date or not, just pay us back!”
Xiao Yanjin let out an “Oh,” then rummaged through her pockets before finally pulling out a crumpled five-cent bill.
Everyone: “…”
Xiao Yanjin blinked. “Huh? I thought I had more than this.”
“You’re just broke, aren’t you?”
Furious, the girl swung a slap at her, but Xiao Yanjin caught her wrist effortlessly.
The girl stiffened as warm breath suddenly brushed against her ear.
Xiao Yanjin’s voice dropped low, humming like a seductive melody that sent shivers down the spine.
“Hold on. One question, I don’t even know you. How could I owe you money?”
The girl’s face flushed red as she muttered, “Disgusting.” She yanked her hand back. “Xiao Yanjin, stop pretending! You’ve partied and drank with us plenty of times, don’t act like you don’t know us!”
Xiao Yanjin felt something was off. Walking up to the mirror, she saw a tall woman with slightly curled long hair reflected backher almond-shaped eyes exuding an inexplicable allure, her demeanor lazy yet dreamy. This woman, was actually quite striking. Xiao Yanjin carefully touched her chin, and the woman in the mirror mimicked the gesture.
She had changed appearance!! Could it be… she had transmigrated?!
“Hey, you!”
“Shut up!” Xiao Yanjin snapped irritably.
The crowd flinched. The aura of this alpha felt entirely different from before.
Only then did Xiao Yanjin retrieve memories from the original host’s mind. Turns out, she had transmigrated into an ABO world. The original host, coincidentally also named Xiao Yanjin, was a top-tier alpha who had been ganged up on by these so-called friends over debts just as she took over.
How interesting. Who would’ve thought Xiao Yanjin would transmigrate one day!
“Wait, why are you laughing? You’re acting crazy.”
“Probably dreaming of climbing the social ladder by marrying some rich heiress.”
“Her? As if she could. Hey, where are you going?”
Xiao Yanjin paused, then suddenly turned back. “By the way, who am I supposed to be meeting for the blind date?”
“Ji Yunuo, the eldest daughter of the Ji family. Don’t pretend you didn’t know!”
Without another word, Xiao Yanjin grabbed her phone and opened Weibo. The original host’s account now had thousands of new comments mostly netizens defending Ji Yunuo and cursing her for being ungrateful.
Xiao Yanjin smirked. How amusing!
In a secluded mansion, the sound of piano music drifted through the air. Slender, porcelain-white fingers danced gracefully across the keys with practiced precision, their movements fluid and elegant. The woman’s jet-black straight hair contrasted starkly against her snow-white skin, like the black and white keys merging into one under the twilight sky.
The Omega playing the piano sat with refined posture, the slanting sunlight outside the window gently tracing the branches like her hands caressing the melody.
“Good, you’ve improved.”
A cool female voice came through the phone.
“Thank you, teacher,” the Omega replied softly.
“Will you practice more tonight?”
“No, I have someone to meet tonight.”
“Until next time.”
The music stopped abruptly as an enraged voice erupted downstairs, forcing the top-tier Omega to pause.
“That damn Xiao Yanjin! How dare she post on Weibo saying she doesn’t think much of Nono? Is she out of her mind?!”
The Omega sighed lightly, closed the piano lid, and descended the stairs, the bracelet on her wrist swaying gently.
Her Omega mother, Wei Qin, a retired film queen was in the living room, cursing up a storm.
“Mom, what’s wrong?” the Omega asked.
Wei Qin glanced at her daughter, smoothed her clothes, and softened her tone. “That Xiao girl, Xiao Yanjin, posted something on Weibo. Guess what it said? She claimed she didn’t even know about the blind date, and since there’s no connection, there’s no point in meeting. She even assured everyone she wouldn’t get involved with you. How presumptuous, without even seeing you first!”
Her alpha mother, Ji Zhiye, sat on the sofa reading the newspaper and chimed in calmly, “Relax, this was just a formality anyway. The blind date was never going to work out.”
Wei Qin shot her a glare. “This is all because of that joke you and Xiao Liangmu came up with. If that’s the case, we might as well cancel it.”
“No.” The Omega’s voice was icy as she stepped forward, her expression frosty enough to make anyone retreat.
She poured Wei Qin a cup of tea, her fair fingers as delicate as snow.
A glint of mischief flashed in her bright eyes as her red lips curved into a smile: “I’m going to see her, meet her that’ll be interesting.”
After posting on Weibo, another wave of angry comments flooded in. Xiao Yanjin clicked her tongue twice and headed home.
The sound of shouting reached Xiao Yanjin’s ears as she entered, making her frown slightly, how noisy.
The living room was lavishly decorated, with an enormous sofa draped in gold fabric that shimmered faintly under the light. The massive black LCD TV in front was the largest Xiao Yanjin had ever seen.
Clashing with the opulent decor were two extravagantly dressed individuals shouting at each other like dueling Peashooters.
Xiao Yanjin knew they were too absorbed in their argument to notice her arrival, so she settled onto the plush sofa to enjoy the spectacle.
Resting her chin on her hand, she revisited the memories that had surfaced earlier.
In this ABO setting, there were six genders, male and female each divided into Alpha, Beta, and Omega.
The original owner of this body, relying on family wealth and social status, had lived an idle life frequenting bars. Handsome and charming, countless Omegas had thrown themselves at her, earning her the mocking nickname “Scumbag Alpha.” Just thinking about the original’s past made Xiao Yanjin nauseous.
The quarreling couple before her were her “father,” Xiao Liangmu, and “mother,” Liang Zhi.
“Xiao Liangmu, it’s all your fault, reckless investments, daily gambling and golfing! Now you’ve gone and squandered the entire Xiao family fortune!” Liang Zhi’s eyes were red, veins bulging in her neck.
She ticked off Xiao Liangmu’s sins one by one, his gambling addiction, indulgence in wine and women, his idleness, how he’d lost the empire built by his father and grandfather.
“Right, right, it’s all my fault, isn’t it? Weren’t you busy playing mahjong and getting manicures with your rich lady friends? How much did I spend monthly on your designer bags and clothes?” Xiao Liangmu refused to back down, using his imposing stature to dominate his wife.
Propping her head up, Xiao Yanjin finally understood, their earlier talk of bankruptcy was real. Not only that, Xiao Liangmu’s gambling debts had consumed what remained of the family assets that could have supported them for life.
Now all that remained were some meager savings and this century-old mansion.
Did this mean she’d have to clean up the original’s mess?!
“Fine, Fine!” Liang Zhi inhaled sharply, hands trembling as she grabbed a limited-edition global luxury bag. “I’m going back to my parents’ house! Don’t you dare come looking for me!”
Clap!
Clap!
Both turned to see Xiao Yanjin watching with relish as she applauded.
“Let me make a suggestion, why not sell the house? You could probably get tens of millions for it,” Xiao Yanjin said with a smile.
After all, she was now their daughter in this unfamiliar world. She needed to secure some breathing room for herself.
“Impossible! This house represents a century of Xiao family heritage, we can’t sell it!” Though nearly fifty, Xiao Liangmu maintained an impeccable demeanor.
“Master.” The butler and a line of maids were dragging their luggage out the door.
The butler apologized, “We’d like to stay, but given the circumstances, we have families to feed. We’re sorry, but we must go.”
Xiao Liangmu sighed in disappointment. “Go, all of you.”
After more than a dozen people left, the spacious house became even quieter.
Xiao Liangmu collapsed silently onto the floor.
“Liangmu, what should we do?” Liang Zhi asked in panic.
“Our only hope now lies with Ajin. If the blind date succeeds, we still have a chance to turn things around!”
“Turn things around? You still think you have that chance?” A mocking laugh shattered the fragile walls of hope they had barely managed to build.
Several people suddenly barged into the mansion. The leader was a male alpha, dressed in a sleek suit with his hair slicked back, his narrow single-lidded eyes crinkling into slits when he smiled.
Xiao Yanjin summed him up in four words:
Shifty-eyed.
Utterly repulsive.
Downright disgusting.
Rat-faced.
Xiao Liangmu’s expression darkened even more than during his earlier argument with Liang Zhi when he saw the man. Gnashing his teeth, he growled, “Li—Mei!”
Xiao Yanjin pondered, recalling from the original host’s memories that this Li Mei had been Liang Zhi’s suitor in their youth—and Xiao Liangmu’s romantic rival.
Back then, Li Mei and Liang Zhi were university classmates. He had harbored a secret crush for four years before launching an aggressive pursuit after graduation. Yet Liang Zhi ultimately chose Xiao Liangmu, an ultra-wealthy second-generation heir. At the time, Li Mei was just a poor nobody who couldn’t compete, but now he was thriving in the entertainment industry.
Xiao Yanjin chuckled to herself—so this was about taking advantage of the Xiao family’s bankruptcy to humiliate Xiao Liangmu.
