From Trashy A to the Heiress’s Little Son-in-Law After the Idol Competition (GL, ABO) - Chapter 2
“Ah Zhi, do you still welcome me now?” Li Mei shoved his hands into his pockets, his gaze fixed intently on Liang Zhi, who, despite being over forty, remained as captivating as ever.
Liang Zhi pursed her lips. Li Mei had pursued her since their university days and had never given up.
“You’d better get out. You’re not welcome here,” Liang Zhi snapped.
“Tsk tsk, I thought you were only with this wastrel for his money. Who knew you’d be so devoted? Quite unexpected,” Li Mei’s smug expression darkened.
“This mansion may be old, but its facilities are outdated, and it’s located in the suburbs. How about I buy it for a hundred million?” Li Mei raised a finger.
“I will never sell it to you!” Xiao Liangmu roared.
Unfazed, Li Mei raised another finger.
“Two hundred million.”
Liang Zhi’s eyes gleamed as she clung to Xiao Liangmu’s arm. “Husband, that’s two hundred million! Enough for you to make a comeback. Are you really not considering it?”
Xiao Liangmu shook his head. Though he knew nothing about running a company, he understood Li Mei’s intentions. This was nothing but an attempt to humiliate him. The offer to buy the house was just a ploy to leave them homeless and penniless, there was no guarantee the money would even reach him.
Most importantly, this mansion was the Xiao family’s ancestral home, built with generations of sweat and toil. How could he sell it so casually?
“Three hundred million,” Li Mei raised another finger.
“Husband, just agree. Otherwise, we’ll have no money left, and we’ll have to rely on my family. Do you really want us to live under someone else’s roof?” Liang Zhi urged.
Xiao Liangmu clenched his fists, torn between acceptance and refusal.
Li Mei sighed, then chuckled darkly. “Xiao Liangmu, I never thought you’d resist temptation.”
“I knew you’d never actually give me three hundred million.”
This was outright humiliation!
Li Mei sneered. “Kneel, and I’ll leave.”
“Never!”
Li Mei bellowed, “Men, make him kneel!”
Two bodyguards seized Xiao Liangmu, forcing him down until a crisp voice interrupted them.
“Long time no see, Uncle Li.” Amid the commotion, Xiao Yanjin had changed into sportswear and descended the stairs with effortless composure.
“Oh, if it isn’t my dear niece Yanjin,” Li Mei smiled, eyes crinkling.
Xiao Liangmu was a wastrel, but his daughter was even worse. In her younger years, scandalous rumors about her were endless. Like father, like daughter, it was a wonder Liang Zhi still had the nerve to stay.
“What brings you to our home?” Xiao Yanjin lifted her gaze lazily, fully confident in handling him.
“I came to see your mother,” Li Mei replied.
“Oh? To watch my parents being all lovey-dovey?” Xiao Yanjin retorted.
Li Mei scoffed. “With your father bankrupt, how can your mother still afford to be affectionate?”
Xiao Yanjin met his gaze with clear, icy eyes. “And yet, you’ve watched them flaunt their love for nearly twenty years. What’s the rush now?”
Li Mei’s face twisted with fury. “Niece, I am your elder. Show some respect.”
“Respect?” Xiao Yanjin burst into laughter.
Did you show any when you barged in here?
“Uncle Li, I’d advise you not to get too angry. I’ve heard people with kidney deficiency tend to have poor complexions.” Xiao Yanjin pretended to examine him carefully, feigning concern.
Kidney deficiency?? Li Mei choked on his words, because Xiao Yanjin’s casual remark had indeed hit the mark!
“Kidney deficiency won’t do. Your wife wouldn’t be happy about that.”
“I’m not married!”
“Oh, I forgot. Uncle only likes my father’s wife. How devoted of you.” Xiao Yanjin gave him a thumbs-up.
“And you even came to my house to witness my parents’ love story. If you ever want to start dating, niece advises you to stock up on kidney deficiency medicine. Otherwise, no one will want you in the future.”
“You little!” Li Mei nearly spat out curses but managed to maintain his composure under everyone’s watchful eyes, swallowing his rage.
“But?” His tone suddenly shifted as he forced a mocking smile. “I heard my niece has a blind date with the eldest daughter of the Ji family. Tsk tsk, many say you’re a toad lusting after swan meat. Posting that kind of Weibo proves you’re too scared to go. It’s almost pitiful.”
“Little girl, I suggest you know your place. If you’re too scared to go, just stay home and play the rich heiress.”
“No.” A cold voice cut him off.
Xiao Yanjin raised her bright eyes. “Who said I’m not going?”
“It’s just a blind date version of the Hongmen Banquet. Having a meal sounds nice.”
Li Mei: “My niece sure has thick skin. Don’t cry when the Ji family kicks you out.”
Xiao Yanjin continued, “I’m just getting to know her, not picking a fight. Uncle should worry about his condition your breath stinks so bad I can’t even chat with you.”
Li Mei’s face turned red with fury.
“Hahaha!” Li Mei laughed mockingly. “Then I wish you success!”
Xiao Yanjin smiled back. “And I hope Uncle Li recovers from his illness soon.”
This spoiled brat!
Fuming, Li Mei staggered away, dragged off by his bodyguards while muttering about Xiao Yanjin being thrown out by the Ji family.
Xiao Liangmu cursed, “Screw you, Li Mei! Don’t ever cause trouble at my house again!”
Xiao Yanjin smirked as Xiao Liangmu grabbed her hand.
“Yanjin, the future of the Xiao family rests on you now!” Without another word, Xiao Liangmu pulled her along. “No time to waste, let’s go to that blind date!”

Weibo exploded with several trending topics again.
Staring at the headlines on her phone, she felt a headache coming on. She must have done something terrible in her past life to deserve this transmigration.
“Ajin, we’re here.”
Stepping out of the car, Xiao Yanjin faced the luxurious five-star hotel only accessible to the wealthy.
“Why are you still dressed like that? What if they see you?” Liang Zhi eyed Xiao Yanjin’s sportswear with disdain.
Xiao Yanjin had tied her hair into a neat ponytail. With her naturally stunning looks, even a simple tank top couldn’t diminish her beauty. But in Liang Zhi’s fashion-conscious eyes, sportswear was utterly inappropriate for a blind date.
Xiao Yanjin tugged at the corner of her mouth. “It’s because you dragged me into the car without giving me time to change!”
The hotel entrance was already swarmed with dozens of reporters.
Seeing the Xiao family arrive, they surged forward like a tidal wave.
“Miss Xiao, why are you so determined to attend this blind date? Is it because the Xiao family’s bankruptcy forces you to seek a powerful backer?”
“May I ask Miss Xiao’s opinion on this arrangement? Are those scandalous rumors about you true?”
Without hired bodyguards, the reporters completely surrounded them.
The three found themselves trapped with no way through. Xiao Liangmu shouted, “Get out of our way! Stop blocking us!”
Xiao Yanjin noticed a live-streaming influencer nearby: “I finally caught sight of Scumbag Xiao! Everyone, take a good look, what do you think of her? Frankly, unless something unexpected happens, she’ll probably get kicked out by the Ji family soon. How could a trashy Alpha like her ever deserve their noble young miss? What a joke!”
The crowd remained tightly packed until Xiao Yanjin suddenly snatched a microphone from a reporter and snapped its pole in half with a sharp crack.
“If you want to see the consequences, kindly step aside. Don’t block the way.”
The crowd froze momentarily before reluctantly parting to create a narrow path.
Xiao Yanjin strode through without looking back. “Let’s go.”
#WaitingForXiaoYanjin’sBlindDateFailure began trending.
Xiao Liangmu pushed open the door to the hotel’s grandest private dining room, releasing an overwhelming fragrance, an expensive blend of incense and perfume that somehow harmonized into an intoxicating, heart-stirring aroma.
No wonder it costs a fortune.
Golden-white lighting cast a warm glow as silk curtains billowed gently by the windows.
Around an oversized table set with only a few dishes sat an entire group of people.
Xiao Yanjin’s eyes widened slightly. Wasn’t this supposed to be a blind date? Why was there a whole entourage?
Lancheng was the nation’s most prosperous city, and its Ji family stood at the pinnacle of high society. Family patriarch Ji Zhiye had ranked among Forbes’ top 50 wealthiest for five consecutive years, reigning as Lancheng’s richest person.
No wonder netizens mocked the original host, this was truly a toad lusting after swan meat!
“Zhiye, so sorry we’re late! Family matters held us up,” Xiao Liangmu said with an ingratiating laugh.
He and Ji Yunuo’s Alpha mother, Ji Zhiye, had been childhood friends, making the two families old acquaintances. Even with the Xiao family’s decline, the Jis would never stoop to kicking them when they were down.
This absurd blind date arrangement had originated from a drunken whim when Ji Zhiye proposed joining their families through marriage now becoming a running joke.
But success wasn’t for Ji Zhiye to decide.
Flanking Ji Zhiye sat a circle of elders, all glaring at Xiao Yanjin as if she might snatch their precious granddaughter away.
Xiao Yanjin: I’m not some predator!
“Ajin, greet Auntie Ji and Auntie Wei properly,” Liang Zhi prompted.
“Auntie Ji, hello. Auntie Wei!” Xiao Yanjin paused, startled to realize the middle-aged Omega woman beside Ji Zhiye was her wife.
Right, she’d almost forgotten this was an ABO world!
“What’s wrong with this child? Why so quiet?” Wei Qin frowned delicately. Dressed in a black gown with gold-jade bracelets adorning her wrists and earrings emitting a soft golden glow, her aristocratic demeanor was even more pronounced than Liang Zhi’s—after all, she had once been an award-winning actress.
“Ah, oh, hello Aunt Wei.” Xiao Yanjin stole a glance at her. Though the noblewoman was nearly fifty, her well-maintained complexion showed no signs of middle age.
This made sense, she had married Ji Zhiye immediately after winning her Best Actress award, causing a sensation across the entertainment industry before retiring to live as a wealthy socialite, truly becoming the CEO’s pampered wife.
“See that? That’s the eldest Miss Ji you met as a child,” Liang Zhi whispered in her ear.
Xiao Yanjin’s gaze naturally fell upon the only young Omega in the group.
The woman had just taken a sip of red wine, setting down the glass with graceful composure. Her mature yet cool temperament contrasted with slightly sharp features, her makeup neither too light nor too heavy. Dark hair framed her face as she focused on her phone, appearing as serene as someone engrossed in an English literary masterpiece.
From the moment Xiao Yanjin’s group entered, the woman never once looked up, as if she were here solely for the meal.
