Giving You Dawn and Dusk (GL) - Chapter 2
After speaking, Liang Shi left the room.
She didn’t know if Xu Qingzhu believed her, but it was the only way to alleviate Xu Qingzhu’s fear at the moment.
An Alpha’s body, before bonding with an Omega, felt like it was on fire, as if a million needles were piercing its most vulnerable spots. Beads of sweat, as large as soybeans, rolled down Liang Shi’s forehead, tracing the side of her face.
Afraid of losing control and harming Xu Qingzhu, Liang Shi simply went downstairs.
But as soon as her foot hit the first step, she was shocked by the scene before her.
The original owner had just hosted a party with friends in the villa. The floor was covered with exploded balloon fragments, colorful streamers, and expensive red wine spilled everywhere—some on the floor, some on the white sofa, cream smeared all over. There was hardly a place to step on the natural wood floor.
A memory fragment suddenly flashed in her mind—
“Just have fun; my wife will clean it up later.” The scum Alpha Liang Shi waved her hand dismissively, her long hair casually splayed, laughing flirtatiously and idly. “Have a good time.”
“Xu Qingzhu?” Someone asked, confused, “Don’t you have servants at home? Why would you make Miss Xu clean up?”
“You still think of her as a ‘Miss’?” A beautiful Beta smiled. “If it weren’t for the Liang family, the Xu family would have gone bankrupt long ago. Now, it’s just a small, unremarkable company.”
Liang Shi merely chuckled.
“Are you jealous she got to marry Liang Shi?” Someone next to them provoked.
“Yes,” the Beta readily admitted, but then curled her lips. “But Liang Shi is just playing with her. Once she’s tasted Haizhou’s number one Omega, she’ll definitely divorce her. Right, Liang Shi?”
Liang Shi raised her hand and clinked glasses with her. “Of course.”
The memory cut off.
Liang Shi frowned. She hadn’t fully assimilated the original owner’s memories; only a few fragmented flashes. All she knew was the main storyline from the original book and a few key characters; everything else was a blank.
She was momentarily stunned when her phone suddenly rang. The contact was labeled: Cheng.
Liang Shi had just arrived here and didn’t dare to act rashly, so she hung up.
But the person on the other end was persistent. On the fourth call, Liang Shi forced herself to answer, lowering her voice, “Hello.”
“Hello?” Cheng Ran sounded surprised. “Miss Liang, have you been tamed?”
Liang Shi was silent.
“This isn’t your style; how long have we been gone?” Cheng Ran chuckled. “As expected of Haizhou’s number one Omega, one night with her and our Miss Liang has learned manners.”
Liang Shi frowned, her throat dry and itchy, and she coughed lightly.
She knew who this “Cheng” was now.
Her full name was Cheng Ran, the Alpha granddaughter of the Cheng family of Huaguang Group. She was strikingly beautiful and had grown up with the original owner. They were confidantes and party-goers, skilled at flattery and disparagement. Many of the original book’s ideas for Liang Shi to abuse Xu Qingzhu came from her. Cheng Ran was even involved in taking Xu Qingzhu to shady places and treating her like an object to be traded.
Later, when Xu Qingzhu rose like a phoenix from the ashes, and the original owner’s gland was removed, Cheng Ran quickly fled the country.
Liang Shi was in unbearable pain at the moment and didn’t want to talk to her, so she hung up the phone directly.
Cheng Ran called again, but she still didn’t answer.
Not long after, Cheng Ran sent a text message.
[It’s just a little plaything; are you really mad at me?]
Liang Shi sent a question mark back.
[Cheng Ran: Liang Shi, what kind of women haven’t we shared before? I haven’t even touched Xu Qingzhu this time, you’re not being serious, are you? Or are you really falling for her?]
[Liang Shi: …]
[Cheng Ran: Alright, what do you mean by not answering the phone? Weren’t you going to mark Xu Qingzhu tonight during her estrus? Then she’ll be yours. If you don’t like her, I just won’t touch her.]
Liang Shi had already extracted information from her words, combined with the fragmented memories in her mind, and roughly understood what had happened.
The original owner was truly scum.
Liang Shi put away her phone and stepped over the heavy debris on the floor to the bathroom. She turned on the cold water and splashed her face, then looked up into the mirror.
It was a face identical to her own, but this face had heavy makeup. The eyeshadow was dark, the false eyelashes were long, casting deep shadows under her eyes, and the lipstick was a deep, true red from the 999 series. Her chestnut-brown long hair hung over her shoulders, and she wore a black dress with a row of sparkling rhinestones on her exposed collarbone.
It was a completely different style from her usual appearance.
Liang Shi closed her eyes and touched the area behind her ear. Her gland was scalding hot, and her heart was beating at twice the normal speed. She pressed her heart and called the ambulance again to urge them.
As soon as she hung up, the sound of an ambulance siren echoed outside.
Liang Shi struggled to walk out. She clenched her fists and went upstairs to the master bedroom door. The closer she got, the greater the Omega’s effect on her. She knocked on the door, cleared her dry throat, and called out softly, “Xu Qingzhu.”
“Go away,” Xu Qingzhu’s voice was suppressed and distressed, tinged with pain.
Liang Shi was already in so much pain that she sat on the floor, leaning against the wall to regulate her breathing. She tried to comfort Xu Qingzhu in a calm voice, “It’s alright, the ambulance has arrived.”
“Go!” Xu Qingzhu threw something against the door, making a loud thud.
The suffering Omega let out a roar-like sound, like the last mournful cry of a lonely goose.
For some reason, Liang Shi felt a deep empathy at that moment.
“Don’t get agitated,” Liang Shi said. “I’ll open the door.”
She dragged her unsteady feet downstairs. After opening the door, the doctors thought she was the one who was sick, and three or four of them came up to help her. Liang Shi immediately waved them off. “The patient is upstairs. It’s an Omega in estrus; she needs a strong-scented inhibitors.”
With the changing times, Omega inhibitors had evolved into various types: injections, oral medications. Different types of inhibitors had different methods of use and different efficacies.
Xu Qingzhu needed the strongest type.
The more beautiful an Omega, the more unbearable their estrus was, requiring the most potent inhibitors to subside it.
The nurses asked worriedly, “Are you really okay? You also look…”
“It’s fine,” Liang Shi shook her head, saying urgently, “She’s upstairs, save her first.”
“Don’t you need an inhibitor?” a nurse asked.
“Take care of her first; don’t worry about me.” Liang Shi felt her body constantly depleting, her physical strength almost exhausted.
The nurses hurried upstairs. Passing the second floor, they saw the mess everywhere and frowned, but quickly composed themselves and went upstairs to knock on the door. “Hello, we are nurses from Haizhou City First People’s Hospital. May we come in?”
Xu Qingzhu in the room had no hope for Liang Shi whatsoever.
At this moment, she still thought it was Liang Shi’s trick. She shouted at the door, “Liang Shi, stop playing games!”
How could Liang Shi possibly call a doctor for her?
“The strong-scented inhibitor is currently in short supply; we need to take you to the hospital quickly,” the nurse said from outside the door. “Excuse us, we’re coming in.”
With that, they pushed open the door. In the dim room, the Omega lay there. The rich scent of Omega pheromones in the room momentarily bewildered everyone.
Everyone looked over. The Omega on the bed had a cool demeanor and a beautiful appearance. Although her eyes were hazy with confusion, they were still clear and bright.
She was an extremely rare Omega, almost one in a hundred years.
“Quickly!” Someone reacted. “The Omega pheromone concentration in the room is too high. Urgently contact the hospital, prepare the rarest heavy-scented inhibitor, and arrange a ward immediately.”
Xu Qingzhu was puzzled, unable to believe that Liang Shi had actually found doctors for her.
Had she changed her strategy?
But regardless, Xu Qingzhu had decided to divorce Liang Shi.
She didn’t want to live with such a volatile person; it was too terrifying.
Hiding all the inhibitors in the house during an Omega’s estrus—that was an attempt to kill her.
Xu Qingzhu, having made up her mind, saw Liang Shi as she went downstairs.
Her long hair was damp, her dress clung revealingly to her body, and her heavy nightclub-style makeup looked wild, but her expression was serious, and a layer of sweat beaded on her forehead.
She was a completely different Liang Shi than usual.
Xu Qingzhu, however, paid little mind to it. As she passed Liang Shi, she said coldly, “Let’s get a divorce.”
Liang Shi’s brow furrowed slightly, then, as if she hadn’t heard anything, she instructed the nurses, “Make sure to give her the inhibitor.”
Xu Qingzhu’s tears fell, and she turned her face away. “You don’t need to be so hypocritical.”
Liang Shi pursed her lips and gave a bitter smile. She knew that nothing she said would change Xu Qingzhu’s mind, but she only sought to have a clear conscience.
She looked at the nurses and said sincerely, “Please, make sure she’s okay.”
After speaking, Liang Shi’s vision went black, and she lost consciousness.
She suddenly collapsed to the ground.
