- Chapter 20 - The Monopolistic Windfall!
Han Xing rubbed his hands excitedly, his voice trembling. “How long can these materials last me, and how much equipment can I make with them?”
So far, he had traded for a staggering amount of resources: Spirit Cores x1,052, Rare Earth x4,362, Refined Iron x3,742, Ether x5,763, Skill Book x3, Unopened Bronze Treasure Chest x5, Unopened Wooden Chest x32, Green Equipment Blueprint x7, and thousands of miscellaneous materials.
And what did Han Xing offer in return? Merely 37 liters of Spirit Spring Water.
His remaining stock of Spirit Spring Water? A whopping 1,502 liters.
He hadn’t even put a dent in his reserves.
“So this is the benefit of monopolization? It feels incredible!” Han Xing exclaimed in awe.
Currently, in the entire Area 107, he was the only one selling water resources in bulk. There were no competitors in sight.
If this trend continued, Han Xing could potentially corner the entire market, gathering the spoils of nearly 10,000 players from the past two days all to himself.
It was as if the entire area had spent the last two days working solely for Han Xing.
Looking at the growing piles of materials in his territory, Han Xing pondered for a moment before temporarily removing the Spirit Spring Water listing from the trading channel.
The bustling activity in the consignment channel came to an abrupt halt after a continuous 10 min frenzy.
The survivors still waiting to trade were left dumbfounded.
“What’s going on? Why did it suddenly go off the shelves?”
“@Star River, Pro, are you out of water? I haven’t gotten my share yet!”
“@Star River, Bro, what happened? Please say something, I’m freaking out over here…”
In the chat channel, countless players started tagging Han Xing frantically. But Han Xing, busy organizing his territory, had no time to check the messages.
His silence only added to their panic.
Those who had been hesitant to trade earlier now deeply regretted their indecision, cursing themselves for missing such a golden opportunity.
If Han Xing stopped selling, where would they find water?
“It’s over… He’s not responding. Maybe he really ran out…”
“Damn it! At first, I thought his prices were too high and not worth it. Now I just want to slap myself!”
“Same here…”
While the unfortunate survivors lamented their missed chance, those who had traded early were overjoyed and began mocking them in the chat channel.
“Hahaha, you fools! What good are materials and gear if you lose your life?”
“Equipment can be farmed again, but if you die, you’re gone for good!”
“Exactly! And Spirit Spring Water can heal injuries. In an emergency, it’s like having an extra life. It’s worth every penny!”
Hearing these taunts, the hesitant survivors were filled with regret, feeling as if their intestines had tied themselves into knots.
Still, some refused to give up. They continued tagging Han Xing, hoping he might relist some Spirit Spring Water.
Misu: “@Star River, Pro, just put up a little more. I swear I won’t hesitate this time.”
Triple Mountains: “@Star River, Bro, you’re our savior. The entire Area 107 depends on you. Please sell some more water.”
Whirlwind Potato: “@Star River, Daddy!!!”
…
…
Rainstone: “Dude above, you’re really something… @Whirlwind Potato.”
Whirlwind Potato: “What? If someone is willing to sell water, they’re my savior, my reborn parent! From now on, he’s my Daddy Star River!”
At that moment, a familiar name appeared in the chat channel.
Star River: “Ahem… What’s going on?”
Han Xing let out an awkward cough. As soon as he spoke, the entire Area 107 channel froze for a moment.
Whirlwind Potato: “@Star River, Daddy! Did I summon you?”
Spirit Master: “Finally, the pro is here! Please, can you list some more Spirit Spring Water?”
…
As Han Xing scrolled through the chat history, he finally understood what had been happening in the channel.
He smiled and said: “Everyone, don’t worry. There’s still plenty of Spirit Spring Water. I’ll put another batch up soon.”
Bean Sprout: “@Star River, for real pro? I’m counting on your Spirit Spring Water to save me!”
Lost Wanderer: “That’s great! This time, I won’t hesitate!”
…
Many survivors in the chat breathed a sigh of relief. They had thought Han Xing had sold out and that they’d missed their chance, only to find out that he still had more to offer.
“Pro, how much Spirit Spring Water do you still have in reserve? Will the prices remain the same?”
Han Xing replied: “Don’t worry about that. There’ll be more Spirit Spring Water soon, but the trading conditions will change slightly.”
Seeing what Han Xing said, the survivors in Channel 107 immediately assumed he was planning to raise prices. Their hearts began to race.
Sensing their anxiety, Han Xing reassured them: “Relax, it’s not a price hike. I’m just adding some new trade options. If anyone has blueprints for furniture, houses, or territory facilities, you can trade them for Spirit Spring Water. You’ll get a great deal.”
“Oh, and if anyone has Storage Boxes or Storage Box Blueprints, those will be prioritized for trading Spirit Spring Water.”
“A white-grade Storage Box can be exchanged for 500 ml of Spirit Spring Water, while its blueprint will get you 2,000 ml. Green-grade Storage Boxes can fetch 2,000 ml of Spirit Spring Water, and its blueprint can be traded for 10,000 ml!”
This was precisely why Han Xing had opened the chat channel.
The materials piling up in his territory were becoming unmanageable, and he urgently needed Storage Boxes to organize them.
The high rewards Han Xing offered left the survivors in shock.
Previously, the trading rate was much lower, 500 ml of Spirit Spring Water for a Bronze Treasure Chest, and just 300 ml for a Green Equipment Blueprint.
Now, he was offering 2,000 ml for a white-grade Storage Box Blueprint and an astonishing 10,000 ml for a green-grade one!
Many survivors wished they could conjure up a blueprint on the spot just to trade with Han Xing.
“Who has the Storage Box Blueprint?”
“Hurry up! The Pro needs them! If you’ve got a Storage Box or its blueprint, bring it out now!”
The chat channel erupted with urgency, as many feared Han Xing wouldn’t sell any more Spirit Spring Water if he didn’t secure a blueprint.
However, Storage Box blueprints weren’t common.
After all, like Space Bags, Storage Boxes were spatial storage tools but with larger capacities. The downside was that they were stationary and could only be placed within a territory.
Just then, a survivor named Cream Puff hesitantly spoke up, “I-i think… I might have a green-grade Storage Box Blueprint, is… is that okay?”
Han Xing grinned. “Perfect. Let’s trade.”
He immediately initiated a trade request, and Cream Puff readily accepted.
The system notification followed:
[You obtained Storage Box Blueprint (Green), you lost Spirit Spring Water 10 liters.]
Han Xing’s reserve of Spirit Spring Water dropped below 1,500 liters, but it was hardly significant to him.
Meanwhile, Cream Puff excitedly announced in the chat channel that they had traded for 10,000 ml of Spirit Spring Water, sparking waves of envy among the other survivors.
Han Xing then addressed the area channel, “Everyone, don’t worry. I’ll put up another batch of Spirit Spring Water soon. You can come directly to me for trades.”
“Got it pro! We’ll wait for you!”
“@Star River, thank you! Pro Star River, you’re the savior of Channel 107…”
Amid the outpouring of gratitude and flattery, Han Xing smiled. Just as he was about to leave the chat channel, a familiar name tagged him.
Lei Wei: “@Star River, what’s going on? Why did you reject my trade request outright?”
