Goddess, Are You Blind? (GL) - Chapter 14
“Big sis, did you drink?” Xue Funian fumbled toward the direction of Ji Yun’s voice. The closer she got, the stronger the smell of alcohol.
“Baby, don’t move, you’re making my eyes spin.” Ji Yun hiccupped, wobbling as she kicked off her shoes.
Hearing the noise, the dog rushed out from the bedroom, tail wagging, but the moment it smelled the strong alcohol in the air, it wrinkled its nose in distaste and rubbed itself against Xue Funian instead.
Xue Funian patted the dog’s head lightly and stopped moving forward. From Ji Yun’s tone, she really did sound drunk—and not just a little drunk either. She should’ve asked Bai Qing to stay. Now that she couldn’t see, she really couldn’t help much at all.
Before she could even think about what to do, Ji Yun toppled right into her.
Xue Funian hadn’t expected Ji Yun to lunge at her, her legs almost buckling as she nearly went down together with her. Fortunately, Ji Yun only half collapsed against her, keeping just enough balance to keep them both from hitting the floor.
Startled, Xue Funian quickly braced Ji Yun with her arms. She couldn’t see, but she could at least keep Ji Yun from falling completely.
“Big sis, are you okay? Let me take you to bed, alright?”
She was flustered. Taking Ji Yun to the bedroom wasn’t easy—she knew the layout well, but usually relied on reaching out with both hands to find her way. With Ji Yun leaning on her, it was much harder. She frowned deeply.
“Baby, aren’t we taking a bath?”
The words made Xue Funian freeze. Did Ji Yun mean she really wanted to bathe? Or was she referring to that embarrassing bathing incident the other day?
But as Ji Yun’s weight sagged against her, Xue Funian snapped back to reality.
“Big sis, you shouldn’t bathe after drinking. Let me take you to bed first.”
“Oh?” Ji Yun squinted at her. Funian’s face doubled in her blurry vision. Even narrowing her eyes, she couldn’t focus properly. “Baby An, did you take your bath?”
Of all the things to bring up—why always bathing? Xue Funian was helpless. She was about to answer when Ji Yun tilted up her chin.
Though she couldn’t see, Funian’s other senses were sharper. Ji Yun’s smooth fingertips slid beneath her jaw, lifting it just so, bringing her face into full view.
“Jie…”
“Baby, how are you so pretty?” Ji Yun murmured, her thumb brushing lightly over Funian’s chin. The touch shocked Funian, who instinctively tried to retreat—only to bump into the back of the sofa. Nowhere to run.
“Such soft skin, such a pretty face… no wonder those filthy men can’t keep away.”
The words were blunt, but Funian understood the meaning—and what Ji Yun must have been doing out drinking tonight.
When Funian stayed silent, Ji Yun leaned in closer. Being taller, she lowered her head so her face was directly in front of Funian’s.
Though Funian said nothing, she could feel Ji Yun’s breath drawing nearer. Because of the alcohol, Ji Yun’s breathing was heavy and hot, filling the air with strong liquor and heat against her skin.
Funian’s hands shook. She was holding Ji Yun as if embracing her, back pressed to the sofa, the dog curled at her feet. Ji Yun had one hand under her chin, the other braced on the sofa beside her. They were so close that a slight lean would have pressed them fully together.
Ji Yun smiled, then dipped down and planted a quick kiss on Funian’s cheek.
Ignoring Funian’s stunned expression, she broke into a goofy laugh.
Funian froze, stiff as a board, unsure what to do. Only when the dog yawned loudly at her feet did she snap out of it.
Having stolen her kiss, Ji Yun slung an arm around Funian’s shoulders, staggering as she dragged her toward the bedroom. She even kicked the dog by accident on the way, making it whimper and hide off to the side.
By the time Funian got her onto the bed, she was drenched in sweat and panting.
Ji Yun mumbled incoherently for a long while, words too slurred to understand. Sighing, Funian groped about, tugging at the blanket stuck under Ji Yun until she managed to pull it free.
The air conditioner wasn’t on—normally Ji Yun handled these things. Funian tucked her in first, then started searching around for the remote.
The sound of her bumping into furniture made Ji Yun wrinkle her brows and groan in protest. Funian quieted her movements, fumbling carefully until she finally found the remote. She pressed it a few times by feel until she heard the air conditioner hum to life. Relieved, she sank into a chair.
But soon the temperature dropped sharply. Shivering, Funian reached toward the bed, only to find Ji Yun had cocooned herself in the blanket, still muttering, “So cold, baby…”
Since when did she call her “baby” so naturally?
Funian didn’t understand, but carefully tugged the blanket tighter around Ji Yun to keep her warm. She couldn’t risk fiddling with the remote again—what if they froze themselves to death by morning?
As she wrestled with the blanket, Ji Yun suddenly rolled over, long arms sweeping her into a tight embrace. Her legs shifted quickly, locking Funian snugly in her arms.
“Mmm, that’s better,” Ji Yun murmured contentedly, nestling closer.
Of all the bewildering moments in her life, Xue Funian thought, none were more baffling than those involving Ji Yun.
She blinked into the darkness, completely at a loss about where to put her hands and feet. Eventually, her eyes ached from staying open, and she drifted into sleep.
Ji Yun stirred slightly, tightening her hold around her, lips curving into a faint smile.
