Goddess, Are You Blind? (GL) - Chapter 15
After waking up, Ji Yun had learned her lesson—she first opened her eyes and stayed still. If she moved even a little, Xue Funian would wake up.
With the sunlight spilling into the room, Ji Yun could clearly see Xue Funian’s delicate features: fine brows that naturally curved without trimming, long narrow eyes, and when closed, the long lashes resting quietly against her cheeks.
Ji Yun often thought—if Xue Funian could still see, those eyes must be breathtakingly beautiful.
She still remembered, when they were children, Xue Funian standing there, all the light in the world seeming to pour into her eyes. That moment had etched itself so deeply into Ji Yun’s memory she could recall it even now.
Just as Ji Yun was lost in thought, the doorbell rang. She saw Xue Funian’s lashes tremble, and instinctively frowned.
The next second, Xue Funian opened her eyes. She nudged Ji Yun, who was holding her tightly, and whispered:
“Jie… are you awake? Someone’s at the door.”
Ji Yun made a couple of muffled sounds, her voice hoarse from not having spoken yet.
Xue Funian guessed it must be from drinking too much last night. She sighed softly, carefully pried Ji Yun’s arms away, and wriggled out of her embrace. She shivered from the chill, fumbled for her shoes, slipped them on, and began feeling her way toward the outer room.
Ji Yun watched her, amused at how adorable she looked—too kind to wake Ji Yun, instead fumbling her way to answer the door.
At the bedroom door, Xue Funian bent down to pat the dog’s head before continuing forward.
Ji Yun chuckled, threw off the blanket, and shivered herself from the cold. She quickly reached for the remote and turned off the air conditioner.
Hearing the beep, Xue Funian turned her head, “looking” toward the sound, a little dazed.
“Jie, you’re awake?”
Ji Yun smiled and nodded.
“Ah Nian, who’s outside?”
“You wait, Jie. I’ll go open the door.”
Ji Yun burst out laughing, quickly stepping up to take Xue Funian’s hand.
“I’ll go. Or better yet—you hold onto me, and we’ll go together.”
Xue Funian tilted her head, puzzled, until she realized Ji Yun wanted her to feel she wasn’t just a blind girl—that she could still do things, and if she couldn’t, Ji Yun would always be at her side.
Even with the doorbell nearly being pressed to death, Ji Yun remained unhurried, guiding Xue Funian step by step.
Gradually, Xue Funian was learning to follow Ji Yun’s pace more easily—relaxed, confident, trusting.
When Ji Yun opened the door, Zhang Shuai burst in, panicked.
“Jie! I’ve been ringing the bell for half an hour! Do you sleep like the dead?”
He chattered nonstop, but when he caught sight of the figure behind Ji Yun, he froze. His finger trembled as he pointed at Xue Funian in her pajamas.
“Y-y-you! Jie, are you hiding a beauty in your golden house?!”
Ji Yun clicked her tongue at him, led Xue Funian back to the sofa, settled her down, then calmly went to the kitchen. She first prepared breakfast for the dog, then warmed some milk and fried an egg for Xue Funian.
Zhang Shuai followed her, sneaking looks at the beautiful girl in pajamas sitting on the sofa.
“Jie, now I get why President Cheng wouldn’t sign that contract! With such a beauty living in your house, who the hell would want to deal with you seriously?”
He lowered his voice, but Xue Funian’s sharp ears caught every word. She froze, her heart unsettled, especially when she heard Cheng Jirui’s name.
Ji Yun, however, wasn’t focused on that. She carried the milk and egg out.
“Ah Nian, come eat breakfast.”
Xue Funian answered softly and rose, feeling her way toward the dining table.
Ji Yun pulled out the chair for her, guided her to sit, placed the utensils, and even put Xue Funian’s hand on them so she’d know where everything was.
Zhang Shuai stared, dumbfounded, and finally blurted,
“Jie, I haven’t eaten breakfast either.”
Ji Yun nodded matter-of-factly.
“Then remember to buy some when you leave.”
Zhang Shuai choked. Xue Funian laughed and pushed her milk in his direction.
“You can drink this first. Jie can warm another one for me.”
Compared to this girl she barely knew, his own “jie” treated him far worse!
Seeing Xue Funian offer him milk, Ji Yun shot him a glare sharp enough to kill. Terrified, Zhang Shuai hurriedly pushed it back.
“I was joking! I was joking. By the way, President Cheng agreed to sign the contract.”
That surprised Ji Yun. Normally, it wasn’t just a meal and a few drinks that would sway Cheng Jirui. Her earlier grumbling had only been to let Xue Funian hear—men like him never had good intentions.
“Oh? What does he want, signing so quickly?”
Realizing Ji Yun wasn’t hiding anything from Xue Funian, Zhang Shuai also dropped the pretense.
“He said… he wants to meet Miss Xue.”
Zhang Shuai sneaked another glance at her. Xue Funian, head lowered as she ate her egg, was breathtaking up close. Before, he’d only seen her from afar at the company—her figure clear, but her face indistinct. Now, even in plain pajamas, her beauty was undeniable.
The more he looked, the harder it was to look away.
“Keep staring and I’ll dig your eyes out and give them to Ah Nian!”
Zhang Shuai yelped at the slap to the head, instantly panicked.
“Jie, I don’t dare, I don’t dare! I only came to tell you—President Cheng isn’t a good man!”
You should be guarding against him, not me!
Ji Yun glanced at Xue Funian. The girl still wore a gentle smile, without a word or reaction.
“Ah Nian.” Ji Yun called her, pulling her attention back.
“Yesterday, I went out to meet Cheng Jirui about the contract. Originally, he’d agreed to sign it. But after seeing you, he went back on his word.”
Xue Funian tilted her head, confused.
“Why?”
“He’s afraid I want something from you. Look—you’re the biggest shareholder now. Everyone wants a piece of the pie. He thinks I’m no different.”
Zhang Shuai fidgeted awkwardly, not knowing where to put his hands. The two stunning women before him gave off a strange tension in the air.
Xue Funian finished the last bite of egg, then lifted her head and smiled at Ji Yun.
“Then… does Jie?”
