Goddess Strategy GL - Chapter 14
At this moment, running away was not the best strategy. Ye Ruoqing quickly turned around, backed against the wall, took a deep breath, puffed out her chest, pulled in her abdomen, and a resonant tone came from her mouth: “Mi~ mi~ mi~ ma~ ma~ ma~”
Separated by a wooden frame, Ye Ruoqing practiced two octaves with a composed demeanor. She knew someone was watching her in the shadows, checking for any abnormal reactions. She then practiced a love song to warm up her voice. After finishing, she stretched slightly and turned to walk in another direction.
Worried that the person might notice her relationship with Zhao Xin, Ye Ruoqing did not go directly back to the resting room. She detoured to a restroom in the corner of the lounge area and stayed there for a while before coming out.
The words she had just overheard were more or less related to Zhao Xin, and Ye Ruoqing felt it necessary to warn her. A woman full of mockery and a man who didn’t say a single serious word were, by no means, good people. The formal party was about to start in about half an hour, and Zhao Xin should be returning to the resting room once more. Thinking of this, Ye Ruoqing couldn’t help but quicken her pace.
The notice board in front of the resting room door hadn’t moved; Xiaoyuan should not have returned yet. Ye Ruoqing pushed the door open, and a peculiar scent drifted into her nose. She alertly looked to the right, where a gorgeous woman in a deep-V evening gown leaned against the wall, lazily blowing out a smoke ring: “Who is it?”
This was an unexpected guest.
Ye Ruoqing had never imagined that the first time she would see Ren Xi would be in this place. Seeing that the person who entered was not someone she knew, Ren Xi ignored her and walked to the dressing mirror. A slender cigarette was held between her long fingers. Beneath the swirling smoke, her bright red nails were sharp, exuding a certain sensual and fierce charm.
Ren Xi tossed her curly hair, turning around gracefully. After scrutinizing her appearance and finding it flawless, she turned back, leaned on the dressing table, flicked the ash from her cigarette, and asked: “You are that young girl Zhao Xin recently discovered? Quite tall.”
So she had been noticed all along… Ye Ruoqing felt incredibly frustrated. No matter what had happened between Zhao Xin and Ren Xi, she, as an outsider, had no standing to get involved. Ye Ruoqing didn’t want to answer Ren Xi’s question; the memory of that one thousand yuan still annoyed her.
Ye Ruoqing had to thank her half-month career as an extra again. She didn’t recognize many celebrities, but she recognized many die-hard fans. They had unified signs: sparkling big eyes, an inability to close their mouths, and shouts that were either suppressed or unrestrained—
“Ah ah ah ah ah ah, it’s Ren Xi! It’s Ren Xi!!! Ren Xi!!!!” Ye Ruoqing immediately transformed her previous stupor into the daze one has upon seeing a celebrity. Her big eyes blinked twice, and she instantly switched to the die-hard fan mode.
“Ren Xi… Oh my god, I’m not dreaming, am I?”
The excited shouting was full of modulation: the thrill of realizing she had seen a superstar, the shyness of realizing her loss of composure, and the exaltation of a dream coming true.
Ye Ruoqing thought she was absolutely brilliant!
She quickly pulled out her lyric book from her pocket, then frantically grabbed a pen from the coffee table, and sprinted towards Ren Xi at full speed. She held the small notebook with both hands, looking at her with “puppy dog eyes.”
“Excuse me, excuse me, could you please sign your name for me?”
No celebrity would refuse this kind of heartfelt enthusiasm. Ren Xi was initially somewhat dismissive of Ye Ruoqing, but upon realizing Ye Ruoqing was a die-hard fan, the condescension from the top of the pyramid was reduced to a minimum.
“You really like my movies?”
“Yes!”
One doesn’t hit a smiling face. Ren Xi stubbed out the cigarette in the odds-and-ends box. She took the pen and quickly signed her name on Ye Ruoqing’s lyric book.
“Let me see… a lyric book. You’re quite thoughtful. Do you want to be a singer?”
“Hehe, yes.”
“Have you released any records before?”
“No.”
“Have you participated in any competitions?”
“This… yes.”
“Then, my lovely little fan, can you tell me your name?” Ren Xi flipped through the lyric book. Ye Ruoqing watched anxiously, afraid that she had inadvertently written some little secret in it.
She watched Ren Xi’s slender fingers turn the pages of her small notebook. The crimson nail tips moved between the snow-white pages, seeming as if they would leave a bloodstain if she exerted any force.
Ren Xi finished looking through the lyric book. Instead of handing it back to Ye Ruoqing, she used it to fluff up her hair again, then slowly slid it down her shoulder and tucked it into the cleavage of her deep-V dress.
“…” Ye Ruoqing’s gaze secretly moved downwards. She felt that being called a 2D digital person was not unfair at all. Ren Xi was truly too… too that (sexy/seductive)…
“Your name? Why don’t you say it?” Ren Xi rested one hand on Ye Ruoqing’s shoulder and reached out with the other to touch the long hair near her ear: “Tell me.”
Her seductive voice, slightly hoarse from smoking, made Ye Ruoqing glad that she didn’t like sexy women, otherwise her makeup today wouldn’t be able to hide her flushed face (like a monkey’s bottom).
“Ye Ruoqing.”
“A nice name, and a pretty girl.” Ren Xi touched her face and walked behind her: “You’re tall, about 175cm?”
“That… needs two more centimeters.”
The delicate hand on her shoulder was quite strong. Ye Ruoqing obediently fell back onto the chair under Ren Xi’s constraint. Ren Xi stood behind her, wrapped her arms around her neck, lifted her chin, and made her look in the mirror.
“Such young skin, it would be beautiful even without makeup… Eugene did your makeup, right? Why such a dark eyeliner? Young girls should maintain their natural color.”
In the eyes of most people, this somewhat sickening praise would be at worst interpreted as coming from Snow White’s stepmother. Praising her good skin and calling her young and beautiful—these words coming from a woman nearing thirty could be jealousy or a compliment. But Ye Ruoqing realized something was off. The breath near her ear was shallow and deep, and the soft body behind her was pressing tightly against her back, making her break out in a cold sweat.
Every cell in her body was receiving a hint, an invitation from a person of the same s3x.
Ye Ruoqing felt her brain wasn’t working properly. Not long ago, Zhao Xin had firmly denied her relationship with Ren Xi and was even angry with Ye Ruoqing over it. Now, Ren Xi’s overt and covert behavior seemed completely problematic.
Could it be that Ren Xi pushed Zhao Xin?
Ye Ruoqing originally thought this possibility was the highest. Having known Zhao Xin for so long, the phrase “out of this world” truly fit her. She couldn’t see the normal human emotions and desires in Zhao Xin. To use a term that breaks the dimensional wall, she was a ‘Silent Goddess.’
However, judging from the information revealed that night, Zhao Xin was the physical aggressor, and Ren Xi was the physical victim. Ye Ruoqing’s brain cells twisted and turned N times, finally concluding that Ren Xi might not have been skilled enough. She might have tried to kill the enemy a hundred times but injured herself fifty times, causing Zhao Xin to develop Stockholm Syndrome.
Little Miss Ye’s imagination ran wilder and wilder. Surrounded by a beautiful woman, she was still able to immerse herself in her world of conjecture, letting out a “hahaha” expression.
“What’s so funny?”
Ye Ruoqing immediately forced a serious and solemn expression. Ren Xi moved her body closer again, her lips near Ye Ruoqing’s ear, and whispered: “Laughing so happily, are you thinking about Zhao Xin?”
