Golden Temptation – A Yuri Story - Chapter 16
Gao Zhe’s class was scheduled for the first period in the afternoon, attended by students from both the Finance and Management departments.
As soon as Gao Zhe stepped onto the podium, carrying his handouts, he caught the attention of four people in the crowd: Qiao Fei, whose sunny demeanor reminded her of Jing Xuan; Liu Xinyu, who was curious about him; Shen Yiling, still reeling from the confrontation at lunch; and Lin Hao, because Qiao Fei was staring at him in a daze.
“Hello, everyone! I’m Gao Zhe, and I’ll be teaching your management course this semester. My focus is business administration. If you’re aiming for an MBA and run into any difficulties, feel free to come to me. Of course, if there’s anything else I can help with, I’d be happy to—hehehe~” His lighthearted opening instantly warmed up the room, making the atmosphere lively and relaxed.
“Alright, let’s dive in. Today’s content isn’t much, but it’s essential. If you want to become an outstanding manager, you first need to understand what management actually is. That includes its concept, definition, functions, and nature…”
Gao Zhe’s teaching style was fast-paced yet clear, logically structured with vivid examples that brought theory to life. His witty comments kept the class engaged, turning what could’ve been a dry lecture into a surprisingly enjoyable experience for everyone.
As the class neared its end, Gao Zhe set down his handouts, stepped off the podium, and leaned casually against the desk, facing the nearly thousand students in the large lecture hall with a smile. This was probably the biggest class he had ever taught.
“We’ll stop here for today—no need to overload your brains,” he chuckled. “We still have a bit of time left. If anyone has questions, feel free to ask. I’ll answer whatever I can!”
A girl from the Management Department hesitated, then raised her hand. Gao Zhe nodded, gesturing to her.
“Go ahead.”
“Um… can we ask any kind of question?” she asked shyly.
“Sure, ask away.”
“Well… do you have a girlfriend?”
The question caught Gao Zhe off guard. To his surprise, the room didn’t erupt into laughter—just an expectant silence. Everyone seemed genuinely curious. The topic of romance had clearly sparked interest.
“Uh—haha, I haven’t answered that one before… Okay, next question!”
He quickly tried to change the subject, but it was too late. His flustered yet charming reaction had already won over many hearts. After fielding two or three more increasingly awkward questions, the class finally ended, saving him from further interrogation.
Gao Zhe made a quick, embarrassed exit, practically fleeing the lecture hall to escape the onslaught of adoring students. Had he been a second slower, he might not have made it out of C University alive.
Liu Xinyu, who had been thoroughly entertained throughout the class, chuckled as she and Qiao Fei exited together.
“Fei’er, isn’t this teacher just adorable? I want to laugh every time I see him. And he’s the one who helped me out at lunch—so funny! Haha, I still can’t get over it!”
Qiao Fei glanced at her, half-amused, half-exasperated. “Xinyu, you’re not seriously interested in him, are you? He’s our age and doesn’t have a girlfriend…”
“Tsk~ tons of girls are into him. I just like his sense of humor, that’s all!”
“You silly girl, always stubborn.”
“Believe what you want. But hey, Fei’er, I think you two are actually a great match. He’s handsome, smart, polite, and funny. You’re beautiful, intelligent, and gentle. A perfect match—made in heaven!”
“Ugh, stop it! Lin Hao used to be ‘a good guy’ too. And look how that turned out…”
Realizing she’d touched a nerve, Liu Xinyu quickly backpedaled.
“Sorry, Fei’er. I didn’t mean to remind you of that.”
“It’s okay. I’m not mad. It’s just… Lin Hao was my first love. I gave him everything. I thought we’d go the distance… but I was wrong. I’m tired. I don’t want to fall in love again. Not now. My heart’s shut.”
Seeing Qiao Fei’s sorrowful expression, Liu Xinyu felt a pang of sympathy.
“Fei’er, you’re such a good person. You’ll find happiness, I promise. That jerk Lin Hao won’t end well.”
Her righteous fury made Qiao Fei laugh. “Hehe~ Yuwawa, you’re too cute! Honestly, I think you’re the better match for Gao Zhe. Go for it while you can!”
“You’re the worst!” Liu Xinyu flushed pink and chased after Qiao Fei, swatting at her playfully as they left the building, giggling and bickering.
That evening, Qiao Fei was heading to her part-time job. Liu Xinyu insisted on walking her there to act as her “flower protector.” Qiao Fei refused.
“There’s no point. If you go with me, how will you get home alone? It’s already getting dark.”
As they argued about it, a sleek black Maserati pulled up beside them. The window rolled down to reveal Gao Zhe’s familiar grinning face.
“Where are you two lovely ladies headed? Need a ride?” he asked cheekily.
That was just Gao Zhe—never missing a chance to flirt, especially when it came to beautiful women. He already knew who they were: his students. And one of them had caught his attention at lunch.
Back in the cafeteria, he’d witnessed the aftermath of a heated argument. Two girls had stood at the center of it all—one fiery and confrontational, the other calm and composed. It was that quiet strength, the unshakable poise of the second girl, that had captivated him. Even when she was nearly slapped, she didn’t flinch. Gao Zhe had stepped in to diffuse the situation, but that girl had stayed in his mind ever since.
“Teacher Gao?” Liu Xinyu said, startled. “Thanks, but we don’t want to trouble you. It’s not far,” Qiao Fei replied coldly, clearly wary of his overly friendly demeanor.
“Fei’er! Don’t be so rude. Come here,” Liu Xinyu scolded, pulling her aside. “Your job is at least two blocks away. That’s not close! Let’s take his car. Then I can ride back home from there and you don’t have to worry.”
“You seriously want to get into a stranger’s car?”
“He’s our teacher—not a stranger. Besides, I’ve got pepper spray in my bag. I’ll be fine! Let’s go, let’s go. It’ll be dark soon.”
Unable to argue further, Qiao Fei reluctantly got into the car with her. Liu Xinyu gave Gao Zhe the address, and the Maserati sped off into the evening.
