Golden Temptation – A Yuri Story - Chapter 41
Jing Xuan pulled Qiao Fei out of the supermarket—only to be caught off guard by the sudden downpour. What terrible timing! She took off her jacket and held it over both their heads, shielding her as she guided her to the car. Once they were seated, she started the engine and slowly drove out of the parking lot.
The ride was silent. Jing Xuan didn’t say a single word.
Qiao Fei watched her, anxiety growing in her chest. It was obvious now—there was some kind of connection between Jing Xuan and that “Mr. Jing.” Maybe he really was her uncle, just like he claimed.
Suddenly, Qiao Fei snapped out of her daze. She realized that she’d been swept away by her feelings. After all this time with Jing Xuan, she barely knew her. Her family, her past—everything about her was a blank slate to her. She didn’t even know for sure if she was someone she could truly entrust her future to.
Her thoughts drifted to Lan Qing. She had seen how deeply Lan Qing loved Jing Xuan, and yet she still broke up with her. What if… one day, Jing Xuan left her the same way, for another woman?
For the first time, Qiao Fei began to doubt her decision. For the first time, she felt a twinge of guardedness toward Jing Xuan.
“Xuan!”
“Fei’er, let’s eat out tonight. Sound good?”
“Huh? Yeah… okay.”

At Youpin French Restaurant.
“Fei’er, are you done eating?”
“Mhm.”
“But you barely touched your food. There’s so much left.”
“Well, you didn’t eat much either.”
True enough. Jing Xuan had been silent or distracted the entire meal. The steak on her plate remained untouched.
“Well then… let me take you home.”
“Alright.”
The car soon pulled up in front of Qiao Fei’s apartment building. After they got together, Jing Xuan had helped her rent a better apartment near the school. Qiao Fei refused the apartment she wanted to buy for her—it felt too much like being kept.
Unbuckling her seatbelt, Qiao Fei hesitated. She wanted to ask her about everything—but didn’t know how to begin.
Jing Xuan unfastened her belt too, leaned over, and gently kissed her on the forehead.
“Xuan!”
“What is it? Something on your mind?”
“I want to understand you better.”
“Huh?”
“I want to know about your family. Your past. About… you.”
“My silly Fei’er, what are you even talking about? Don’t let that crazy man today get into your head, alright? Look—I’m not bothered by it at all! Haha~”
“Really? You’re not bothered? You do know him, don’t you?”
“I don’t. I really don’t. Don’t overthink it, okay?”
“Then tell me about yourself.”
“Me? There’s not much to tell. I’m an orphan. I have a foster father, he lives in Singapore. My friends—you know them already: Shuangji and the others.”
“That’s it?”
“Oh, right. There’s also my beautiful and charming girlfriend—Miss Fei’er!”
“You smooth talker.”
Jing Xuan gazed at her, then gently pulled her into her arms, kissing the top of her head.
“Fei’er, I’m sorry I wasn’t fully present tonight. I’m really sorry…”
“Xuan, don’t say that… it’s okay, really…”
“I’m sorry, baby~”
“I know… I know you must have your reasons. I just… I want to know you more.”
“I promise I’ll make it up to you another day, Fei’er baby.”
“You’re so annoying! Alright, I’m going up now.”
“Wait—just let me hold you a bit longer~”
“Enough! I’m going up!”
“Mm, go ahead.”
Jing Xuan slowly let go of her. Though she insisted on leaving, Qiao Fei was clearly reluctant to step out of her embrace. She opened the door, got out, shut it behind her, waved, turned around, and headed upstairs…
Only when the light in her room turned on did Jing Xuan finally start the car and drive away. A wry smile tugged at her lips as she recalled Lan Qing’s words:
“Drive safe.”

“Mr. Huang, enjoying the leisure time, I see.”
Huang Zhixiong frowned in annoyance at the unexpected man in front of him. “And you are?”
“Sorry to interrupt. Who I am isn’t important. I just have something I think you’ll be very interested in.”
Huang Zhixiong returned his fishing rod to the stand.
“If this is about business, go to my office. Or speak with my son. Right now is my personal time—I don’t care what you’re holding. I’m not interested.”
“Your son? Jing Xuan, you mean? Well, what I have actually relates to him quite a bit. Are you truly comfortable handing over such a vast enterprise to him without reservation?”
“That’s none of your business.”
“Haha. Since you’re not interested, I’ll take my leave. This is a file—it documents all the ‘good deeds’ your son has done. You might want to take a look.”
With that, Jing Cheng tossed a file onto the grass behind Huang Zhixiong and walked away. He was certain the man wouldn’t be able to resist reading it—and contacting him afterward.

Back at home, Jing Xuan slumped onto the sofa. Moonlight streamed in through the window, casting a silvery glow across her slender figure, lending her an air of dark allure.
She folded her hands behind her head and stared at the ceiling in silence.
Yes—her “uncle” suddenly appearing had shaken her more than she expected. She hadn’t anticipated that Jing Cheng would re-enter her life so abruptly. But what must come, always does… doesn’t it?
Hopefully tomorrow will bring sunshine.

Lin Hao sank into his chair, replaying the video on his phone over and over again.
“To think that tall, arrogant Gao Zhe is actually a woman… and a lesbian at that! Hah, this just gets more and more interesting.”
A cruel smirk curled at the corners of Lin Hao’s lips.
“Brat! What the hell are you doing?”
“Dad! Why didn’t you knock?!”
Lin Hao scrambled to hide his phone as his father barged in.
“I’m your father—why the hell should I knock? What are you hiding?”
“Nothing, really! Dad, what brings you here?”
“Can’t I come if there’s no reason?”
“No, no, of course you can. But if there’s nothing, maybe you should rest. It’s late.”
“Sigh…” Lin Jinyuan let out a heavy sigh and sat down across from him.
“What’s going on between you and Yiling? I really hope the rumors aren’t true.”
“Dad…”
“Speak! What happened? Yiling’s a good girl. Can’t you be more accommodating as a man?”
“Did she say something to you?”
“She didn’t say a word. She’s not like you—always getting into trouble! Let me tell you something—stop thinking about that Qiao Fei girl. The two of you are impossible. Tomorrow, go apologize to Yiling and bring her home for dinner.”
“Dad!”
“That’s final. Not another word. If you can’t win Yiling back, don’t even call me your father anymore!”
Lin Jinyuan stood up to leave, but Lin Hao’s eyes gleamed with a sudden idea. He quickly stopped his father.
“Dad! Wait—I have something to show you!”
