Golden Temptation – A Yuri Story - Chapter 46
Gao Zhe had agreed to fly to Singapore that weekend to help plan the “beauty trap.” Jing Xuan sprawled out on the large bed, stretching lazily.
“Alright… time to start preparing for the press conference.”
She wasn’t in a hurry to meet that woman—better to let her stew for a few days. A cornered animal is dangerous, and a desperate person even more so.
The day after Jing Xuan’s return to Singapore, the stockholders seemed to regain a sliver of hope. The Huang family had always been known for their integrity. However, contrary to expectations, Jing Xuan didn’t immediately address the scandal publicly.
She kept everything shrouded in ambiguity—neither confirming nor denying anything—which only added fuel to the media frenzy. As days passed, no further information about Jing Xuan surfaced. Eventually, Jing Cheng grew restless.
At Huatian International, President’s Office
“Mr. Huang, now that Jing Xuan is back, shouldn’t we proceed with the paternity test?” Jing Cheng said, pressing his hands on the desk. “The sooner we do it, the sooner these two children can be united. As her uncle, I owe it to my late brother and sister-in-law to see this through. The child’s getting older by the day—you can’t expect him to grow up not knowing who his real father is!”
Mr. Huang remained calm. “You’re right, but Huatian’s stock price has taken a serious hit. As CEO, Jing Xuan needs to prioritize company affairs. I hope you understand.”
“Is that so? Then why hasn’t he shown up at the company at all? What kind of CEO doesn’t come into the office?” Jing Cheng’s voice grew louder, frustrated.
“Miss Wu,” Mr. Huang called out to his assistant.
“Yes, Chairman?”
“Go see if the young master came in today.”
“He’s here, sir. He’s currently in a meeting with the senior finance executives.”
“But we’ve been waiting here all morning! Isn’t this his office?” Jing Cheng exclaimed, agitated.
“Please be patient, Mr. Jing. You heard her—he’s in a meeting.”
“I don’t care what damn meeting he’s in! I want answers today!”
A calm voice cut through the tension.
“No need for a test. The child is mine.”
Jing Xuan stood at the doorway, holding a file in one hand, her suit jacket draped over the other. She looked effortlessly composed and strikingly charismatic. Her sudden appearance threw Jing Cheng slightly off balance, but like a seasoned predator, he quickly regained composure.
“So, you admit it. Good.”
Jing Xuan handed the file and jacket to Miss Wu and walked over to Jing Cheng, her gaze level and cold.
“Uncle Jing, isn’t it? We share the same surname. Who knows, maybe we really are family.”
“Haha, yes! Now that you and Xiaolan are together, of course we’re family!” Jing Cheng laughed heartily, pretending to be moved. “Ah, what a fine match!”
“And such a unique beard you have, Uncle.”
“Ah—yes, yes, I like it this way!” Jing Cheng forced a laugh, caught off guard by the sudden comment.
“Mr. Huang—ah no, I should say Brother Huang now,” Jing Cheng turned toward the chairman, all smiles. “Since Jing Xuan has acknowledged the child, there’s no need for a DNA test. We all know such things can be distasteful for prestigious families like yours. Well then, I’ll go back and tell Xiaolan the good news. What a beautiful couple they make, don’t you think? Haha…”
If anyone could put on a convincing act, it was Jing Cheng—how else could he have destroyed Jing Xuan’s family so effortlessly back then?
“I’d like to meet her,” Jing Xuan said calmly.
She took note of every twitch, every fake smile. So, you want to play, Jing Cheng? Fine. I’ll play with you till the end.
“Of course! I’ll go tell Xiaolan now. Her man is asking for her, after all,” he grinned smugly.
Her man? Jing Xuan scoffed inwardly.
“Uncle, I’ll send someone to pick her up tonight. She’ll be staying with me for now—it’ll be easier for me to take care of her.”
“Yes, yes, whatever you say!”
“Miss Wu, arrange for the driver to take Mr. Jing home.”
“No need, no need! I can go on my own!”
“How could that be appropriate? You’re my elder now. We must insist.”
After a few rounds of polite deflection, Jing Cheng finally agreed to be driven home in one of Huatian’s company cars. Jing Xuan personally saw him out of the building. As the car drove away, she turned to head back—just in time to spot a discreet black van quietly tailing Jing Cheng’s vehicle.
Though the van kept its distance, Jing Xuan’s sharp eye caught it.
Inside the car, Jing Cheng was mulling over everything.
Jing Xuan’s eager cooperation had caught him off guard. The child wasn’t his—why would he admit it? Guilt? No… he must have a hidden agenda. Suspicious as it was, it wasn’t necessarily bad. Since he hadn’t been able to get a DNA sample, planting a spy close to him had proven to be a worthwhile investment.
“Sir, we’ve arrived,” the driver announced.
They had reached a budget motel. The driver politely opened the door.
“Ah, thanks, thanks,” Jing Cheng replied with a cheeky grin, making his way inside.
Roughly twenty minutes later, he emerged from a back alley in different clothes and climbed into the black van that had been tailing him.
Just as I thought, Jing Xuan noted from two blocks away. She started her car and followed discreetly. But soon, the van began taking unpredictable turns, clearly aware it was being followed. The gap widened, and
Jing Xuan decided not to risk exposure. There would be other opportunities—no need to rush.
That evening, as planned, Jing Xuan sent someone to bring the woman to the Huang family villa.
Li Xiaolan, a simple woman from the countryside, had never seen such opulence in her life. The grandeur of the estate overwhelmed her. Led by a servant into Jing Xuan’s bedroom, she timidly placed her worn travel bag on the bed and sat down.
The room was silent. She was alone.
Her eyes were fixed nervously on the door, awaiting the moment the man she had never met—her supposed “partner”—would walk through. She’d never even seen him in person, and now she was expected to live under the same roof.
But she had taken their money. She had agreed to play her part.
Even if she didn’t like it, for the sake of the child in her womb, she had no other choice.
