Golden Temptation – A Yuri Story - Chapter 47
In the guest room, Jing Xuan, Gao Zhe, and Yan Junye were gathered together.
“I’m telling you, Ajing, I can’t agree to this. No way. Count me out!” Gao Zhe protested, throwing up her hands.
“But we discussed it over the phone! You were totally on board—why the sudden change of heart?” Jing Xuan asked, puzzled.
Gao Zhe put on her best impression of a model husband and replied, “I told you, I’m reformed now. I can’t be involved in something that deceives a sweet, innocent girl—especially when she’s pregnant! That’s not just one betrayal, it’s two! It’s basically a crime!”
“Alright, alright, that’s enough. Okay?” Jing Xuan sighed dramatically, knowing full well Gao Zhe was just playing games but feigned disappointment. “If you don’t want to help, then forget it.”
She then turned toward Yan Junye. “Junye, you’re still single, so… heh heh heh… no baggage, right? Maybe you—”
“No way!” Yan Junye quickly waved her hands, signaling a firm refusal. “Who says I don’t have baggage? I—”
“You what?” Jing Xuan and Gao Zhe leaned in, curious at Junye’s unusual hesitation.
Flustered, Junye stammered, “I—I’m here under Grandpa’s orders. He wanted me to check on what exactly you were up to!”
“Ohh~ for a second I thought you were secretly in love with someone!” Jing Xuan teased.
“Ajing, how about this—we let Junye be the beauty instead? She’s single, good-looking… Maybe this whole thing will lead to a real romance!” Gao Zhe joked.
“Perfect! Settled then!” Jing Xuan clapped.
“Hey, no, no, absolutely not!” Junye jumped to her feet, clearly panicked.
“What now?”
“Alright, fine—I do have someone I like. My heart’s already with her. I can’t focus on another woman. You both know I’m not good at this kind of thing. If I go, I’ll just mess everything up.”
“Really? Who is it?” Jing Xuan and Gao Zhe leaned in eagerly.
Just then, a maid knocked and called them to dinner, saving Yan Junye from further interrogation.
“Who is it? Come on, spill!”
“Dinner first! I’m starving! It’s a long story. We’ll talk about it later. Right now, priority number one—food!” Junye quickly ushered them out of the room.
“Hey! This is my house, okay? Who made you the boss?” Jing Xuan muttered as she was pushed along.

The group arrived in the dining room to find Huang Zhixiong already seated at the head of the table. On the other side, Li Miaolan had been invited down by the maids to join the meal. Jing Xuan, Gao Zhe, and
Yan Junye took their seats in turn. Li Miaolan kept her head lowered, not daring to look up and meet anyone’s eyes. Still, she couldn’t help stealing glances at Jing Xuan.
She hadn’t expected him to be even more handsome than in the photos—deep-set eyes, a warm aura, like sunlight bathing the earth.
On the other side of the table, the group also observed the woman rumored to be Jing Xuan’s fiancée. Compared to beauties like Lan Qing or Qiao Fei, Li Miaolan wasn’t exactly stunning. But she had a girl-next-door charm, simple and genuine, that was hard to fake. Jing Cheng had clearly chosen well. Even if the whole world were lying, people would find it hard to believe this girl was part of a scheme.
She might not be a classic beauty, but she was certainly passable. If Jing Cheng wanted a headline-grabbing story, he wouldn’t have picked someone repulsive to play the part.

Dinner ended in silence. After a few polite remarks about making themselves at home, Huang Zhixiong excused himself and went upstairs.
Jing Xuan never once looked at Li Miaolan throughout the meal, which oddly made her feel a little disappointed. With nothing more to do, she quietly returned to her room.
Back in the tea room adjacent to the dining area, Jing Xuan, Gao Zhe, and Yan Junye gathered again.
“My Boston black tea’s not bad, right?” Gao Zhe took a sip, smacking her lips with satisfaction.
“Ajing, you can’t blame us for not helping. Your so-called ‘wife’ couldn’t take her eyes off you during dinner. She was totally smitten! As for us—ha!—she clearly didn’t give a damn about us,” she added, chuckling.
“Alright, enough jokes. Let’s get serious.” As always, Yan Junye stepped in to redirect the mood.
“Ajing, why did you agree to go along with Jing Cheng’s plan? That old fox…” Gao Zhe trailed off, confused.
“If I had refused, I’d have walked right into his trap. Why should I refuse? Sure, we know the child isn’t mine, but the public doesn’t. If I publicly denied it, it would damage Huatian’s reputation. I don’t want to drag my godfather into this mess.”
“And besides,” Jing Xuan continued, “what kind of international CEO has never had a woman before? This kind of tabloid story always gets attention. Jing Cheng thought I’d definitely reject the claim, then he’d push for a DNA test—”
“—and get your bl00d sample to verify whether you’re really his nephew!” Yan Junye finished.
“Exactly. Once confirmed, he’d try to eliminate me. But since I admitted the child’s mine, he’s uncertain about my next move and won’t act rashly.”
“But now he’s planted a spy right beside you.”
“Which is why I want to turn the tables—with a honey trap of our own.”
“Too bad he doesn’t realize,” Gao Zhe laughed, “that no woman can resist Ajing’s charm! Ha!”
Even Yan Junye chuckled this time.
“You two aren’t helping, just here to roast me?” Jing Xuan sighed.
“Ajing, what’s your plan going forward?” Junye asked, ignoring Gao Zhe’s antics.
“Junye, Gao Zhe… Honestly, I do want to get a DNA test. I need to know if Jing Cheng is really my uncle. If he is, fine. But I’m tired of hiding. You’ve both protected me long enough. Now, I need to take the offensive. It’s time to bring him down.”
“Ajing, that’s risky. We’re not fully prepared. Uncle Yan is still in Jing Cheng’s hands. And some of the old members of Jingdong Society are—”
“Ajing, Gao Zhe’s right. You can’t be reckless.”
“And I won’t sit around waiting to be destroyed. I’m done waiting.” Jing Xuan’s tone was firm. Both Junye and Gao Zhe could tell—she’d made up her mind.
“Alright then, Ajing. No matter how hard it gets, we’ve got your back!”
“Come on!” Gao Zhe extended her hand. The three of them clasped hands tightly—as if all their strength and resolve were united in that moment, ready to face whatever came next.

“Anything you need us to do when we go back?” Gao Zhe asked.
Jing Xuan patted her shoulder. “Work’s been intense lately. When you’re taking care of Xinyu, help keep an eye on Fei’er too.”
“Got it. Don’t worry.”
Off to the side, Yan Junye’s gaze suddenly dimmed. She constantly reminded herself: the person she cared about… was already someone else’s.
