Golden Temptation – A Yuri Story - Chapter 48
Jing Xuan returned to the bedroom to find Li Miaolan still sitting on the bed, dazed. When she saw her come in, she stood up nervously and lowered her head in a panic, not knowing what to do next. Her presence made her feel both anxious and afraid.
Jing Xuan rubbed her chin, putting on a deliberately mischievous expression as she slowly approached her. Bit by bit, she leaned in closer, her warm breath brushing against her face. Li Miaolan instantly froze, shutting her eyes in panic, unsure of what was happening and too stunned to resist.
She felt her fingers gently brushing aside the strands of hair that had fallen over her eyes. Her breath came closer. Her nose touched hers. Her lips—were they about to—
Suddenly, a terrifying memory surged in her mind.
“Ah! Get away! Get away from me!”
Li Miaolan began to struggle violently, flailing her arms and legs. Jing Xuan was caught completely off guard by her reaction, but she immediately realized something was wrong.
Damn it. I was only trying to tease her a little. What happened to her…? Did something terrible happen to this girl before? Is that why she’s so terrified?
In an instant, Jing Xuan was overwhelmed with sympathy and pity. To calm her down and keep her from screaming further, she pulled her into a firm embrace, whispering gently into her ear.
“It’s okay… It’s okay… Trust me… You’re safe…”
The two of them ended up falling back onto the bed.
Gradually, Li Miaolan began to settle down in her arms. When she finally came to her senses, she realized she was tightly clinging to a man. Startled, she pushed her away with force—her hand landing squarely on
Jing Xuan’s chest. It was a direct hit, and she immediately felt how sensitive the area was.
Jing Xuan let out a low, pained groan. “Oww…”
“I’m so sorry! I didn’t mean to—are you okay?” Li Miaolan panicked at the sight of her pained expression. This man is way too delicate! she thought. Aren’t men supposed to be tougher?
“It’s fine. Really. I just… hurt my chest in a car accident a few days ago. Still healing.”
“What?! Was it serious?”
“No, not at all. I’m much better now,” she said with a laugh, shifting slightly to the side, since they were still a bit too close.
“Um… you…”
They both spoke at the same time and then laughed, stopping mid-sentence. Jing Xuan, ever the gentleman, gestured for her to go first.
“You first,” she said quickly.
“You can stay in this room for now,” Jing Xuan said warmly. “Don’t worry. I won’t touch you.”
She didn’t press her about the child. Jing Cheng had warned her there were still layers to this girl’s story.
“Just now… I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to scare you.”
“It’s fine,” she replied softly, saying no more.
Jing Cheng had told her to do whatever it took to get close to Jing Xuan—seduction if necessary. The goal was to confirm her identity and secure DNA, bl00d, or hair samples—anything.
But Li Miaolan hadn’t expected this man to be so outstanding, so charming. And wasn’t she just showing clear desire toward her? But… she’s a woman? Could a woman feel that way about another woman?
Her heart was full of questions.
“Get some rest,” Jing Xuan said kindly. “If you need anything, ring for the maid. Tell me if anything’s missing—I’ll try to get it for you. Also… rest well tomorrow. The day after, we’re going for a prenatal checkup. If that’s all, I’ll get going now.”
Just as she turned to leave, she suddenly blurted out, “Will you marry me?”
Jing Xuan turned back and smiled. “Let’s first confirm the baby is healthy.”
What kind of man is she…? She never pushed for answers about the baby, yet she showed genuine care, as if everything were real. If it weren’t for the lie between them, perhaps they never would’ve crossed paths.
Jing Xuan really did seem like husband material.
But—when a weasel pays respects to a chicken, it’s never out of kindness. She’d better stay cautious.
It seemed the “beauty trap” would have to be executed by Jing Xuan alone. Gao Zhe had no choice but to sulkily return to City C.
With final exams approaching, Teacher Gao Zhe was swamped—writing test questions, managing exam logistics… Without her around to pester her, Liu Xingyu and Qiao Fei took the chance to dive into intense study mode. (Well, mostly it was Xingyu dragging Qiao Fei along. Everyone knew Qiao Fei was always a top student. It was Liu Xingyu who kept looking for ways to slack off.)
Seeing how hard Xingyu was studying, Qiao Fei felt grateful she’d chosen Gao Zhe—at least it made her take her subject seriously.
“I’ve got to give it my all! I won’t let that scoundrel look down on me! Let’s go! Go! Go!” Liu Xingyu declared ferociously in the dining hall.
Qiao Fei, trying to save them from embarrassment, banged her chopsticks against her plate. “Alright, alright! I get it—now eat!”
With everything happening around Jing Xuan, Qiao Fei’s own studies had taken a hit. I’ve got to work hard too, she reminded herself silently.
Soon, finals came and went.
Miraculously, Liu Xingyu emerged as the top student in the finance department! Qiao Fei ranked sixth—a shock, as she’d never fallen out of the top three before. Still, she wasn’t discouraged. Sixth place wasn’t the end—she could catch up again.
Everyone understood the dip in Qiao Fei’s performance. After all, rumors about her and Lin Hao had been nonstop for months. And now there was the media storm about the One-77 prince abandoning his wife and child—Qiao Fei had clearly been a victim in the mess, and people felt sorry for her.
But Liu Xingyu’s sudden top ranking brought disaster down on both her and Gao Zhe.
Here’s what happened:
Liu Xingyu was overjoyed with her first-place result, feeling proud for once. But then things went south. The restroom—always a breeding ground for gossip—exploded with scandalous whispers.
“You guys didn’t hear? Liu Xingyu only got first place because she slept with Mr. Gao!”
“No way!”
“It’s true! Word is the dean caught them in the act—in Mr. Gao’s office, no less!”
“Oh my god… Xingyu and Mr. Gao? How could she be so reckless?”
“Haha, clearly you don’t get it. When lust takes over, who cares about location? Some people even get off on the thrill of getting caught.”
Inside one of the stalls, Liu Xingyu’s fury boiled over. She stormed out and confronted the gossiping girls.
“What nonsense are you spreading?! Watch your mouths before you end up with sores on them!”
But the girls, now that they’d been caught, weren’t afraid.
“Oh~ so you did it and had your fun, but now you’re scared of people talking?”
“Mr. Gao’s so hot! Come on, tell us—what tricks did you use to get him wrapped around your finger?”
“Wait a minute… isn’t Mr. Gao a woman?”
“…So, she’s into women? Disgusting!”
And so, a bloody brawl broke out in the girls’ restroom between an enraged Liu Xingyu and the gossipmongers…
