Golden Temptation – A Yuri Story - Chapter 49
“Fei’er~ what should I do~” Liu Xingyu groaned as she rolled around on the bed in frustration.
“I know exactly what you should do~ But who told you to be so impulsive?” Liu Xingyu suddenly sat up with a flip and knelt in front of Qiao Fei.
“Was that even human speech they said? After all my hard work to finally rank first??? Me!???” The more she spoke, the more wronged she felt, and tears streamed down her face like raindrops.
Qiao Fei gently embraced her, patting her back softly, trying to soothe her. “Don’t worry. Everything will be okay. We have to trust Shuangji.”
But… would things really end that simply?
What Qiao Fei didn’t know was that her own misfortune was just about to begin.

C University, Faculty Meeting Room
“Principal! I believe this incident has had a terrible impact and must be dealt with seriously!”
“But Liu Xingyu’s recent performance has been very commendable. She’s been working hard and didn’t cheat on her exams. If we’re just basing this on rumors among the students… I think we need further investigation.”
“Director Lu has a point. C University has a century-long legacy and is known for its authoritative academic standing. Competition and jealousy among students are inevitable. These vicious rumors are the root of the problem—we shouldn’t focus all blame on Liu Xingyu. Both sides share responsibility, so we must handle this fairly!”
“Then how should we proceed?” The principal, who had been quietly listening, finally raised a question.
Director Lu of Academic Affairs was the first to respond, “I see this as an ordinary scuffle between students. Given that Liu Xingyu has shown a sincere attitude, we should deal with it leniently when it comes to punishment—”
“How can that be? Director Lu, have you been bribed? Why are you defending Liu Xingyu so blatantly?”
“Professor Yang! Watch your words!”
“What are you all doing? We’re having a meeting—a serious discussion!” The principal snapped, silencing the room.
Finally, after a long silence, Dean Lin Jinyuan spoke.
“Principal, I believe this incident must be taken very seriously.”
“Oh? Why do you say that?”
“I believe the rumors among the students are true.”
“What?! How is that possible?” The room erupted again in stunned voices and buzzing speculation.
“Ahem!” The principal motioned for silence, allowing Lin Jinyuan to continue.
“This matter not only concerns Liu Xingyu but also involves Professor Gao Zhe. Liu Xingyu’s grades were average at best, and then she made a sudden leap in just one month? Are we supposed to believe in miracles? I have evidence that the so-called improvement came through a sexual relationship between Liu Xingyu and Professor Gao Zhe.”
Without hurry or hesitation, Lin Jinyuan stood and connected Lin Hao’s phone to the computer. In seconds, a scandalous video recorded by Lin Hao played across the massive projector screen—capturing the intimate scene in question.
The teachers were stunned into speechlessness. One female professor gasped, “Oh my God!”
“Jinyuan, where did you get that footage?”
“It was given to me by a student. Please forgive me—I can’t reveal their identity. But if this counts as material evidence, I also have a witness.”

Singapore
Jing Cheng sat in the back of a luxurious black Mercedes van, parked in a side alley behind a large shopping mall. His sharp, hawk-like eyes scanned the world outside.
After a while, the door opened, and Li Miaolan stepped in. She didn’t even glance at him—her gaze stayed fixed on the window.
“If you’ve got something to say, make it quick. I only have five minutes. If Jing Xuan’s security realizes I’m gone, they’ll find me soon.”
Jing Cheng gave her a once-over. Today, she wore an expensive chiffon dress, perfume lightly lingering in the air—a famous French brand. Her freshly styled hair was tied into a graceful bun. Gone was the country
girl; she now looked every bit a sophisticated lady.
“Clothes really do make the person. You look beautiful. This look suits you well.”
But Li Miaolan didn’t take his compliment to heart. “Thanks.”
“Seems you’re doing well. Is he good to you?”
“Who?”
“Jing Xuan.”
“The Huang family treats me well.”
“But he, is he good to you?”
Li Miaolan turned to look directly at him. “Yes.”
“Haha. You’ve fallen for him, haven’t you?”
“No—”
Suddenly, Jing Cheng lunged forward, gripping her throat like a vice.
“Ah—!” Miaolan struggled to breathe, clawing at his iron-like hand.
“Don’t play games with me! You’re not allowed to fall in love with him! Stay focused on your mission! I can give you everything—or take everything away. Got that?”
Unable to speak, Miaolan could only nod frantically. Finally, Jing Cheng released his grip. Air rushed back into her lungs as she gasped, clutching her neck.
Seeing the red marks on her skin, Jing Cheng turned to the guard outside. “Xiaofeng, go buy a woman’s silk scarf. Make it high-end. Be quick.”
Xiaofeng took off at once. Jing Cheng turned back to Li Miaolan, now slowly regaining her composure.
“The next time I see you, I don’t want this kind of attitude. I came here to check on you. Don’t forget your task. Now go—five minutes is already too long.”
Just then, Xiaofeng returned with the scarf and handed it to her.
“Thank you,” she murmured and wrapped it around her neck, leaving in a hurry. Her fading silhouette lingered in Xiaofeng’s mind.

Li Miaolan had just returned to the shopping mall when someone suddenly stepped into her path. Before she could even look up, a familiar voice spoke above her head.
“Where did you go?”
“Ah, I… I needed the restroom, but I couldn’t find one… uh, you know I… I wasn’t used to—”
“I’ll take you.”
“Oh… okay.”
Jing Xuan tilted her head slightly, then turned and walked ahead. Miaolan quickly followed. Watching her gently swinging arm, she longed to reach out and take it, but didn’t dare. The way she followed timidly behind her made her look more like her secretary than her “wife.”
“You’re still pregnant. Don’t wander off like that. What if something happened?”
“Oh… I… I’ll be careful…”
After walking a bit, she asked hesitantly, “Why… why are you here? Aren’t you usually busy at this hour?”
Jing Xuan looked at her and said softly, “Security told me you were missing. I was worried something happened.”
Whether it was true or not, those words deeply moved her. Summoning her courage, she reached out to hold her arm—but just then, Jing Xuan suddenly stopped and sidestepped slightly, avoiding her touch.
She blinked in confusion. Why had he stopped so abruptly?
Jing Xuan merely gave a sly smile, leaned in close, and whispered, “We’re here.”
