Got a Happy Ending With My Ex’s Sister? (GL) - Chapter 15: Acting cute
Chapter 15: Acting cute
Not only was Shi Huan stunned, but Tang Yiqiu also looked shocked, her brows tightly knit.
Director Chen, seeing them frozen like statues, urged, “Act cute! You just filmed that intimate scene. Why are you both so dazed now?”
That was acting, all for the characters. They could be as wild as needed, and if it went too far, the role could take the blame. But now, it was just them, no added identities.
Neither moved. Shi Huan’s body stayed still, but her eyes sparkled with anticipation, practically jumping to grab Tang Yiqiu and say, “Teacher Tang, act cute! I’m ready for you to shower me with it!”
But Tang Yiqiu didn’t budge. Chen Ling, impatient with dawdling actors, frowned. “You’re not expecting me to teach you how to act cute, are you?”
“I can,” Tang Yiqiu said quietly. “I’ll carefully study the character’s growth and nail the cute part.”
“Your acting’s top-notch, I’ll give you that, but emotionally, you’re too wooden. You might not pull off cute well,” Chen Ling, the ace director, analyzed sharply.
Shi Huan, eager to see Tang Yiqiu act cute, chimed in, “Yeah, Teacher Tang, it’s easy. Like, hold my hand and call me Huanhuan.”
Tang Yiqiu’s brows twitched, looking thunderstruck. Shi Huan teased, pinching the air and swaying lightly. “Like this, with a bit of flair.”
What kind of flair?
Seeing Tang Yiqiu’s puzzled look, Shi Huan emphasized, “Be warm, bold. Try it! Director Chen’s here to spot all your issues, so you can act cute anytime, anywhere.”
“Exactly!” Chen Ling looked at her approvingly. “Cuteness is instinct. No one goes a lifetime without it, intentionally or not. First time’s awkward, second time’s smooth. Go wild, be bold, act cute with her.”
Shi Huan nodded eagerly, imagining Tang Yiqiu hugging her, calling her “Huanhuan” or “darling,” her bl00d pressure spiking. She touched her nose.
Suddenly, Chen Ling pushed her forward. “Shi Huan, you go! Show Tang Yiqiu how it’s done.”
Shi Huan: “…”
Her words caught in her throat. She swallowed hard, looking at Chen Ling. “Me teach Teacher Tang?”
“Who else, me?” Chen Ling rolled up his sleeves. “If you don’t mind, I’ll do it.”
As he stepped forward, the onlookers quickly stopped him. When Chen Ling taught Shi Huan to be flirty before, it was spicy but eye-searing, given his age. If he acted cute now…
That’d be quite a sight.
But two beauties acting cute together? That’d be a treat, especially seeing a new side of Tang Yiqiu. Who wouldn’t want that?
Shi Huan hadn’t noticed the crowd gathering, her face heating up. She glanced at Tang Yiqiu, whose brows were still furrowed, looking conflicted.
Shi Huan grabbed Chen Ling. “I’ll do it, I’ll do it. It’s just… so sudden, I’m shy.”
Chen Ling thought for a moment. “Think about the script. Who cooked for you, took you to the hospital, cared for you day and night? That’s her—she doesn’t say it, but she does it.”
Shi Huan tilted her head, suddenly getting it. “Teacher Tang, you gave me the bracelet and chocolates. You’re responding to me, aren’t you?”
Tang Yiqiu looked over. “Those aren’t the same thing.”
“Why not?” Shi Huan muttered. “You didn’t give them to anyone else, just me. I’m not buying your denial.”
Tang Yiqiu was speechless.
Shi Huan tugged at her hem. “Teacher Tang, you picked them for me. I’m different to you.”
Though not short, Shi Huan seemed petite next to Tang Yiqiu’s perfect proportions. She leaned close to her ear. “Act cute. No big demands, just call me Huanhuan.”
Tang Yiqiu shifted slightly. “You’re fearless.”
“I’m a bit scared. First time being so flirty in public.” Shi Huan lowered her voice, brushing Tang Yiqiu’s hand.
Tang Yiqiu glanced at her, took a deep breath, lips parting. “Huan… Shi Huan.”
“Huanhuan!”
“Shi Huan.”
“Alright, enough!” Chen Ling cut them off. “Shi Huan, tone down the flirt. Give Tang Yiqiu time to react.”
“Me… flirty?” Shi Huan pointed at herself, seeing everyone mirror Chen Ling’s expression, and shut up. “Fine.”
Tang Yiqiu glanced at her, raised a hand, and gently ruffled her hair. Done, she turned to leave, silent.
Shi Huan whispered, “That’s just indulgent.”
She looked to Chen Ling, asking if she was right. He nodded, confirming. Shi Huan grinned proudly.
“Then whatever you say goes.”
Tang Yiqiu’s voice was low, eyes full of tender sweetness, as if breaking through restrained logic, trembling in surrender.
Shi Huan froze, her spine stiffening.
Was this cute?
Not quite, just a prelude. Tang Yiqiu lowered her head slightly. “Let me off, okay?”
Her voice was endlessly soft.
Shi Huan felt faint, that final “okay” hitting her like several shots of liquor, intoxicating her. She wanted to grab something, but Tang Yiqiu stood straight, leaving her to nod dumbly.
“Is that okay?” Tang Yiqiu’s eyes darkened.
Chen Ling nodded. “So-so. Work on it once the revised script’s out.”
“That’s it?” Shi Huan, still dazed, sighed at Tang Yiqiu’s retreating figure. “I didn’t even process it.”
“Look at you, so hopeless.” Chen Ling said, “When Xiao Shen finishes the script, you better prep too.”
“Ugh, I am hopeless.”
Shi Huan was still buzzing from Tang Yiqiu acting cute, dying to talk about it but too shy to tell just anyone.
She wandered the set, loitering by Tang Yiqiu’s lounge, but the door was shut, keeping her out.
In the crew, she admired Chen Ling most. He not only boosted her acting and clarified her thoughts but also saw through her little feelings.
Unable to hold back, she sneaked up to him. “Director Chen, what’s Teacher Tang’s deal? Is she saying one thing but meaning another, all stubborn?”
Chen Ling, talking with Screenwriter Shen, glanced at her. “Want to know? Ask her. What’s asking me gonna do?”
“I’m scared.”
The crew nearby burst out laughing.
The crew manager elbowed Assistant Director Xiao. “Gotta say, Teacher Tang and Huanhuan are super shippable. Huanhuan’s all flirty, and Tang Yiqiu’s like a stiff official.”
Xiao nodded eagerly. “Shame there’s no promo yet, or we’d have fanworks to obsess over.”
They both turned to Shen, realizing there might not be fanworks online, but they had a writer right here.
Shen, squinting, seemed to draw inspiration from their interaction, scribbling furiously, filling a page.
She hadn’t thought much of it before, always writing Qin Zhiyan as cold and rational. But in reality, Tang Yiqiu lacked human warmth. People can’t always stay restrained.
Against real-world prejudice and the chilly distance between lovers, intense love and desire demand unbridled release.
Shen’s eyes gleamed.
Next, she’d write… a bed scene.
