Got a Happy Ending With My Ex’s Sister? (GL) - Chapter 5: Taking Care
Chapter 5: Taking Care
That night, they both drank, went at it for a long time, and it was wild in Shi Huan’s memory. When she woke, no one was beside her, just a card pressed under the pillow.
Shi Huan lay in the hotel for a full day, sore and exhausted.
Normally, she’d toss the card without a thought, but she didn’t. She lay in bed, added Tang Yiqiu on WeChat, and chatted with her while rubbing her waist. That conversation sealed it—she was hooked on Tang Yiqiu, smitten, obsessed.
Even if it meant being a vixen.
The afternoon scenes wrapped quickly. After filming, Shi Huan returned to the hotel, ready to text Tang Yiqiu to check on her, when she saw Chang Qing and Tang Yiqiu coming in from outside.
She quickly pressed the elevator button, waiting for them to step in. Tang Yiqiu had her hands in her pockets, wearing a hooded down jacket, her face half-covered by a black mask, only her eyes visible.
“Still feeling bad?” Shi Huan asked softly.
Tang Yiqiu leaned against the elevator wall, giving a vague hum. Chang Qing leaned closer, saying, “She got a fever shot. Probably the meds kicking in, making her sleepy.”
Shi Huan stole a few glances at Tang Yiqiu. When the elevator reached their floor, Tang Yiqiu stepped out first, and Shi Huan followed. “If you’re not feeling well, I can come—”
“No need.”
With someone else there, Shi Huan couldn’t flirt. She pouted, returned to her room, sent Tang Yiqiu a few messages, and got no reply. Just as she was drifting off on the bed, her phone buzzed, jolting her awake.
Chang Qing’s voice came through. “Huanhuan, can you help me out?”
Shi Huan mumbled, “What’s up? What kind of help?”
Chang Qing sounded urgent. “Help take care of Yiqiu. She’s still feverish, and I have to pick up Sister Ye, so I can’t stay with her.”
“Huh?” Shi Huan was instantly wide awake, sitting up. “Take care of Teacher Tang? In her room?”
“Yeah, if it’s not convenient, I’ll figure something else out.”
Shi Huan glanced out the window, noticing it was snowing heavily. She agreed quickly. “Convenient, totally convenient! It’s the middle of the night, I’ve got nothing going on. Should I go to Teacher Tang’s room now?”
“Thank you so much! I’ll give you the room card. It won’t be long, just two or three hours while I pick up Sister Ye.”
Shi Huan threw on clothes, pausing at the liquor cabinet. Should she have a drink? It’d make her flirting smoother, more natural.
Nah, if Tang Yiqiu’s fever didn’t break and they needed to drive to the hospital, it’d be a hassle. Plus, with Tang Yiqiu sick, Shi Huan could pretty much do whatever she wanted…
With a restless heart, Shi Huan reached Tang Yiqiu’s door. Chang Qing opened it from inside, handing her a room card. “Sorry, I was supposed to stay, but Sister Ye said the road’s blocked, car can’t get through, so I need to pick her up at the airport.”
Sister Ye was Ye Rong, Tang Yiqiu’s manager, a big name in the industry. She’d managed countless top stars, and directors fought to work with her. Now, she was Tang Yiqiu’s exclusive manager.
“No trouble at all. Anything I should watch for?” Shi Huan peeked inside. The bedroom door was closed.
“She’s had fever meds. Check her temperature. If the fever doesn’t break, call me, and I’ll figure out getting her to the hospital. Also, make sure she drinks hot water.”
“Got it.” Shi Huan noted everything. As Chang Qing left, she added, “She’s stubborn when sick. You’ll need to coax her a bit. Be patient.”
Once Chang Qing was gone, Shi Huan closed the door and pushed open Tang Yiqiu’s bedroom. It was her first time inside, her curious eyes wandering. The layout was like her room, yet it felt more private, more tantalizing.
Tang Yiqiu slept on the bed, likely chilled, curled up under the blanket, only her flushed face showing, her forehead damp with sweat. Shi Huan touched it—scorching.
She couldn’t just lie there like that. Shi Huan went to get a wet towel, but as she stood, she heard a soft hum. Tang Yiqiu opened her eyes, frowning at Shi Huan, as if surprised to see her.
Shi Huan was about to explain, but seeing Tang Yiqiu’s discomfort, she quickly asked, “Want water? I’ll get you a glass.”
Tang Yiqiu didn’t answer, slumping to one side, breathing heavily. Even from a distance, Shi Huan felt the heat. She hurried to pour hot water and brought it over.
“Don’t want it.”
Was she being difficult?
Shi Huan coaxed gently, “A few sips will soothe your throat.” She offered the glass, adding a playful threat. “If you don’t drink, I’ll feed it to you like the milk…”
Before she finished, Tang Yiqiu propped herself up, but the moment she touched the cup, she muttered, “Hot.”
“Blow on it, it won’t be.” Shi Huan blew on it, swirled it with a spoon, then held it to Tang Yiqiu’s lips. Like a cat, Tang Yiqiu tested the temperature with her tongue before drinking.
So cute. Shi Huan wanted to kiss her.
It reminded her of the morning’s kiss scene. “Teacher Tang, during that scene, did you stick out your tongue?”
Tang Yiqiu choked, pulling the cup away and coughing.
Shi Huan grabbed a tissue to wipe her lips, but Tang Yiqiu blocked her hand, narrowing her eyes. “Who let you come?”
“Chang Qing. I’m here to take care of you.” Shi Huan said earnestly, worried she’d be kicked out. She pointed to the bathroom. “I’ll get a wet towel to cool you down. It’ll help.”
“Hm…” Tang Yiqiu’s lips moved, her usual clear voice low and husky, almost seductive. “Do it and leave.”
No way.
Shi Huan thought, she’d finally gotten here.
She grabbed the towel. When she returned, Tang Yiqiu was leaning against the headboard, texting on her phone, with Chang Qing’s voice messages playing now and then.
Shi Huan placed the wet towel on her forehead. Tang Yiqiu froze, saying, “Go back later. I’m almost better.”
“Why do you keep pushing me away?” Shi Huan pouted. “Most people get clingy like cats when they’re sick. Why are you so cold?”
Her fingers rested on Tang Yiqiu’s forehead. “Your temperature’s so high, your body’s so hot…”
Tang Yiqiu brushed her hand away, her face cooling.
Shi Huan sighed. “Teacher Tang, let’s check your temperature. If you’re not burning or the fever’s gone, I’ll leave, okay?”
Tang Yiqiu was definitely feverish. The towel on her forehead warmed quickly, her breathing heavy, the air around her hot.
Shi Huan grabbed the ear thermometer. “I’ll check?”
Tang Yiqiu tilted her head. Shi Huan leaned over the bed, gently touching her ear. Seconds later, she pulled back, seeing Tang Yiqiu’s red ears, and couldn’t resist a playful pinch.
“Teacher Tang, why are you red again…”
Tang Yiqiu cut her off. “How high?”
Shi Huan glanced down, showing her the screen. “See for yourself, over 38 degrees. Still a high fever.”
Tang Yiqiu hummed, probably too tired to argue.
She closed her eyes for a bit. When Shi Huan sat down, she said hoarsely, “Don’t stare at me. It’s uncomfortable.”
“Okay, does your head hurt? Want me to massage it?”
Shi Huan reached out, but Tang Yiqiu grabbed her wrist, her expression stern. Shi Huan quickly pulled back. “I won’t touch you. Sleep. I’ll stay here, okay?”
“You’re really not leaving?”
“Your fever hasn’t broken. I’m worried. Don’t worry, I won’t bother you. I’ll leave when Chang Qing’s back.”
“Chang Qing’s not coming back tonight.”
“Oh, then I’ll sleep on the sofa.”
As she spoke, Tang Yiqiu suddenly shifted, leaving the spot she’d been lying in, rolling to the other side of the bed.
There was only one blanket. Sleeping together… Shi Huan didn’t dare imagine, staring at her back, swallowing hard. “Teacher Tang… are you inviting me to sleep with you?”
Tang Yiqiu didn’t answer, but didn’t deny it either. Shi Huan took it as a yes, quickly shedding her jacket and slipping in.
It was their first time lying together sober. Shi Huan stared at her pale neck, barely containing her restlessness, inching closer.
“Teacher Tang, can I hold you while we sleep?” Shi Huan tapped her shoulder. “I’m not used to this bed.”
Before she could get close, Tang Yiqiu grabbed a pillow, placing it between them, saying coldly, “Move again, and you’re out.”
Shi Huan mumbled an “oh,” glaring at the annoying pillow, grinding her teeth. She’d wait for Tang Yiqiu to fall asleep, toss the pillow, pounce, and devour her completely.
Just wait.
