Guide Her to Nowhere (NPH) - Chapter 24: Find Her and Kill Her
Chapter 24: Find Her and Kill Her
Shi Xi opened his eyes and saw the familiar ceiling.
The drug effect had not yet worn off, his body was weak and his head was hazy, his consciousness not entirely clear. It took him a few seconds to grasp the current situation.
He had not died, he was at home.
“What, disappointed that you didn’t die?” came a mocking voice from the side.
Shi Xi turned his head and saw his brother Shi Xiu sitting by the window, dressed as impeccably as always – shirt, tie, suit pants, his slick black hair meticulously gelled, and of course, the same unpleasant expression on his face, his single-lidded eyes behind the frameless glasses still as cruel.
“Where’s Qu Tang?”
“That little girl? She ran off with someone.” Shi Xiu crossed his legs, leaning back against the sofa chair. “My dear sentinel brother, how does it feel to be taken down by a mere civilian?”
Shi Xi was annoyed by him. “What are you here for?”
“Of course, to take you back to the Central District for sentinel training.” Shi Xiu mocked him, “I don’t want the same thing to happen again.”
After Shi Xi awakened as a sentinel, he hadn’t received any systematic training, not even basic guidance. So in the days after his awakening, he couldn’t even control his own spirit beast.
“I’m not going back.”
Shi Xiu stood up, picking up the black suit jacket on the chair back. “It’s not up to you.”
“If I go back, help me find her.”
Shi Xiu looked down at Shi Xi from above. “Don’t tell me you’ve developed feelings for her.”
Shi Xi lowered his eyelashes, neither confirming nor denying.
Shi Xiu gave a low chuckle, “Since it’s my brother’s request, as the elder brother, of course I’ll fulfill it for you. Rest well.”
Shi Xiu left the room, closing the door behind him.
Butler Zhou, who had been waiting outside the room, came forward. “Young Master.”
“Give me Qu Tang’s information.”
Butler Zhou looked at Shi Xiu’s upright back, secretly sweating for his young master.
When Zhou brought Qu Tang’s information to Shi Xiu, Shi Xiu was standing by the window of Shi Xi’s study, a cup of coffee in his hand, looking down at the dog kennel.
In the kennel’s courtyard, three Alaskan huskies were happily chasing each other, having a great time.
“How childish.”
Sensing Shi Xiu’s mood, Zhou quickly spoke up, “Young Master, all the information about Qu Tang is here.”
“Mm.” Shi Xiu took a sip of coffee, then turned and sat down at the desk. An Alaskan husky nearly as tall as half his height gradually materialized by his side.
The husky leapt through the glass window into the courtyard, and immediately the three Alaskan huskies’ cries of terror rang out.
Zhou: “……” Calling the young master childish, the elder master was not much better.
Zhou had practically watched the two brothers grow up. There was a ten-year age gap between them, and with their parents having passed away early, the elder brother had taken on the parental role, being particularly strict with the younger. The younger brother didn’t like being constrained, so naturally, as he grew up, the relationship between the two brothers became increasingly strained.
This time the younger brother came to District 4 to recuperate, the first thing he did was spend a large sum to buy three genetically stable Alaskan huskies to raise.
Why Alaskan huskies? Because the elder brother’s spirit beast was an Alaskan husky.
Whenever the elder brother upset the younger brother, the younger brother would go to the dog kennel and play with the three dogs. After that, the younger brother’s mood would invariably improve.
To be honest, these three dogs did play a big role in the younger brother’s recuperation.
But he didn’t dare say so.
Shi Xiu picked up Qu Tang’s resume, first looking at the ID photo. The young lady was quite pretty, her white, clean complexion, smiling at the camera with a hint of shyness, looking delicate and soft.
Girls like this were a dime a dozen in the Central District, Shi Xiu really couldn’t see what was so special about her that could make his eccentric younger brother so preoccupied.
“Butler Zhou, based on your understanding of Young Master, what do you think his feelings towards this Qu Tang are?” Shi Xiu continued flipping through the other information, which was not much, just a few pages.
“Very attached.” Zhou answered decisively. “From the time Miss Qu left until the young master was brought back, a period of five days, the young master didn’t sleep at all. Young Master hasn’t had insomnia for a very long time, Elder Master.”
“Oh? Is that so?” Shi Xiu picked up the family photo of Qu Tang with her parents, looking at it casually. “Then find her and kill her.”
Shi Xiu’s gaze fell on Qu’s father’s face, his brow furrowing, just about to take a closer look, when suddenly he was interrupted by the sound of the door being kicked open.
“Shi Xiu!” Shi Xi, supporting himself against the wall, glared at Shi Xiu with hatred. “You dare!”
The black wolf dog instantly materialized, pouncing towards Shi Xiu. Shi Xiu didn’t move a muscle, just slightly lifting his eyes. His spirit beast Alaskan husky came bursting in from the window, pinning the black wolf dog to the ground, and with a forceful paw, the black wolf dog dissipated into black mist.
Shi Xi’s spirit beast was attacked, and he vomited a mouthful of bl00d.
“Young Master!” Zhou’s expression changed drastically, quickly going to support the swaying Shi Xi.
The eyes behind Shi Xiu’s glasses were as dark as a deep pool. “Your skills are only good for this? To attack me for a commoner?”
“She is not a commoner!” Shi Xi shouted.
Shi Xiu didn’t care. “Look at you now, you’re supposed to be a sentinel, a member of the Shi family?”
“Since you can’t possess her heart, and can’t control her either, not being able to come out unscathed is understandable. But you actually fell for it.”
“It’s none of your business.”
The sedative had not worn off yet, and his spirit beast was also injured. At this moment, Shi Xi’s face was as pale as paper, making Zhou tremble with fear.
“Young Master, the young master can’t take too much stimulation.”
Hearing this, Shi Xiu put down the information and stood up. “Tomorrow morning at 9 o’clock, at the helipad. If you’re even a second late, I’ll kill her.”
