Guide Her to Nowhere (NPH) - Chapter 4
Chapter 4: Finger Licking
No one in this world could likely resist the fluffy spiritual body.
Take Shi Xi’s black wolfhound, for example. It had a perfect build, a glossy black coat, and it didn’t shed, defecate, or have any odor. Even when it licked you, it wouldn’t secrete any sticky saliva.
It was practically the perfect stress relief tool.
Qu Tang truly loved it, so she rubbed and petted it to her heart’s content during the dog walk. By the time she got back, she felt a bit guilty, but fortunately, as soon as she returned to the dog house, the black wolfhound dispersed on its own, not needing her to lead it back to Shi Xi.
She had thought Shi Xi letting her walk his spiritual body was just a passing whim, but to her surprise, the next morning, the black wolfhound arrived at the dog house earlier than she did.
It was sitting upright in a domineering manner, and the three Alaskan Malamutes, usually so bold, were obediently sitting behind it, looking dejected.
Qu Tang was amused and exasperated, it seemed the triple salary was not for nothing, as she might have to walk four dogs from now on.
That was fine, with the black wolfhound there, the three big dogs were so well-behaved it was almost unbelievable, making her task much easier.
After the dog walk, Qu Tang went to Grandma Li’s place. Unfortunately, she encountered that Sentinel again in the elevator after work.
Qu Tang still shrank into the corner, pretending not to hear or see him. The Sentinel stood with his back to her, seemingly having the same intention.
Qu Tang secretly let out a sigh of relief, but the next moment, she was suddenly pressed against the elevator wall by a warm, enveloping force, almost unable to move.
What’s going on?
Qu Tang reached out to push, her palm touching a thick, fluffy sensation.
She looked up with difficulty.
“…”
Ah? Who could tell her why a polar bear had suddenly appeared in the elevator?
Qu Tang’s brain short-circuited for a second, then she realized this polar bear was most likely the Sentinel’s spiritual body.
Dude, releasing such a huge spiritual body in the elevator is a bit too much, her internal organs were about to be squeezed out.
Just as she was about to speak up, the massive polar bear suddenly shrank and fell down, and Qu Tang’s body reacted faster than her mind, instinctively reaching out to catch it.
The polar bear, now shrunk to the size of a small kitten, was easily cradled in her palms.
The little polar bear happily rolled around in her palm, sticking out its pink little tongue to lick Qu Tang’s fingers.
The rasp of the tongue against her skin made Qu Tang shudder.
She didn’t know how to react for a moment, looking over at the Sentinel, “This, you…”
Yi Jin’s tongue felt numb, his voice even deeper than before, “Sorry.”
Yi Jin’s gaze swept over the polar bear, and the polar bear, reluctantly, jumped out of Qu Tang’s palm and landed on the floor, growing back to Qu Tang’s height, then shamelessly pressed itself against Qu Tang.
Qu Tang took a step, and the polar bear followed.
Qu Tang had nowhere to retreat, and just as she was about to be pressed against Yi Jin, the elevator door mercifully opened.
They had reached the first floor.
Qu Tang fled.
The polar bear tried to chase, but was promptly recalled by Yi Jin.
Yi Jin kept watching Qu Tang’s panicked retreat until the elevator door closed again.
He leaned against the elevator wall, head lowered, his shoulders shaking. The only sound in the elevator was his heavy, repressed breathing.
The elevator reached the basement floor, but Yi Jin didn’t get off, instead pressing the button for the eighth floor.
Yi Jin lived on the eighth floor, and the ninth floor, just one wall away, was Grandma Li’s home.
He knew Grandma Li, an elderly woman with disabled legs, whose children worked in the central district and rarely came home, so a caretaker usually looked after her. He had been away on a mission for two months and didn’t expect to come back and find Grandma Li’s caretaker had been replaced.
His hearing was acute, and the sounds from upstairs occasionally drifted down. He heard Grandma Li calling her “Tan Tan”, but didn’t know which Tan it was.
He also heard Qu Tang saying goodbye to Grandma Li, so he intentionally went out and waited by the elevator, ‘coincidentally’ encountering her. This time, however, he couldn’t control his spiritual body, or perhaps he subconsciously didn’t want to control it.
Yi Jin felt a bit regretful, because he found that being close to Qu Tang could truly calm his restless emotions.
Yi Jin who desperately needed soothing would become addicted.
