Guide Her to Nowhere (NPH) - Chapter 62: Miss You
Chapter 62: Miss You
The iron gate opened slowly; Qu Tang didn’t hesitate and stepped through the bl00d and flesh fragments toward Shi Xi.
Shi Xi, on the pile of bodies, faced away from the gate; hearing the sound behind him, the ears on his head twitched carelessly.
At three meters from Shi Xi, Qu Tang stopped and called him, “Shi Xi.”
The person on the corpse hill stiffened, unmoving.
Qu Tang called again, “Shi Xi.”
Shi Xi turned slowly, saw Qu Tang, tilted his head as if puzzled, and in an instant, leaped down from the corpse hill.
His speed was so fast that Qu Tang only felt a sudden darkness before her eyes; the world flipped, and her back hit the ground with a ‘bang.’
Pain stabbed through her; Qu Tang’s vision blackened briefly, recovering after two seconds, and she vaguely saw Shi Xi open his mouth to bite her. She instinctively raised her hand to block, but no pain came; instead, a warm, wet sensation brushed her palm, followed by another.
He was licking her.
Qu Tang’s vision cleared gradually; she saw Shi Xi’s face clearly.
Shi Xi had paled greatly, but it was a sickly pallor from no sunlight; he had also thinned, his eye sockets slightly sunken, making the dark circles under his eyes more pronounced.
His eyes were very red, the whites filled with menacing red veins, trembling uncontrollably due to his loss of control.
“Shi Xi,” Qu Tang softened her voice, calling his name, placing her hand on his stubbled face, soothing him with her spiritual power, “I’m Qu Tang. I’m back.”
Shi Xi didn’t respond, leaned closer, inhaled deeply at her neck, and licked her neck with his tongue.
Qu Tang didn’t dare move; at such close range, if Shi Xi bit her viciously, not even Shi Xiu, let alone a god, could save her in time.
“Qu Tang?” Shi Xi’s voice was low and hoarse, as if he hadn’t spoken in a long time.
“It’s me,” Qu Tang said, patting his back gently like soothing a child, “I’m back.”
“It’s really you,” Shi Xi said, his beast-like tense body relaxing; he lay on Qu Tang, hugged her waist, and buried his face in her neck.
“I missed you so much.”
Qu Tang didn’t consider herself a saintly do-gooder; she even harbored resentment toward Shi Xi, but his tearful “I missed you” still shook her heart.
On the way from the door, Butler Zhou told her many things, mostly about how badly Shi Xi fared after she left, saying Shi Xi couldn’t sleep, and they had to secretly add sedatives to his food.
A sentinel’s physique was strong; sedatives soon lost effect, so they injected him with sentinel stabilizers.
Stabilizers were slow poison, not to be injected frequently, so Shi Xi stayed awake most of the time.
Qu Tang couldn’t imagine what it was like for a person, a sentinel, to go nearly two months without sleep; seeing Shi Xi’s red eyes and dark circles, she could only grasp a fraction of it.
Honestly, she and Shi Xi hadn’t interacted much; she couldn’t understand his deep affection for her.
She didn’t understand but respected it, especially since she was the object of that affection.
Qu Tang decided to forgive him for three minutes.
“You’re so heavy,” Qu Tang complained in a normal tone, “Get up; you’re crushing me.”
Shi Xi propped himself up but didn’t fully let go, keeping one arm around her waist, as if afraid she’d run.
Qu Tang frowned, “You stink, too. Go take a bath, okay?”
Shi Xi’s face flushed red instantly, the blush stark on his pale skin; his embarrassed gaze shifted away, then back, “You help me wash.”
Qu Tang clenched her fist, “Fine, I’ll help you wash.”
At the corner behind the door, Butler Zhou wept, “Eldest Young Master, the Young Master will be okay now, right?”
“Yeah,” Shi Xiu replied.
Since Xiao Xi liked her so much, she shouldn’t leave.
