He is not my Alpha! - Chapter 13
What was meant to happen would eventually happen…
Ji Yifei sat on his bed, thinking about how to sneak his costume into the class tomorrow morning without being discovered.
His solo performance was the last one, and his other performance with Shang Yan was in the middle. He could use the excuse of needing to go to the restroom to change clothes then.
But he also knew in his heart that his performance would be discovered sooner or later, but when he thought about having to perform in that outfit with Shang Yan in the audience…
He felt a bit awkward, and his mind returned to what happened at Shang Yan’s house that day.
They had practically no interactions with Shang Yan before, but it seemed like everything changed after that night.
It was all because of that mark.
His thoughts went back to the first night, the unexpected phone call he made when he was drunk, and the subsequent series of events.
He knew if he continued to think about it, his mind would explode. He forcefully cut off his thoughts, forcing himself to go over the dance moves he needed to perform tomorrow.
(Shang Yan’s Dormitory)
Shang Yan lay on his bed. It was almost lights-out time. He stared at the bottom of the upper bunk, his mind constantly recalling the scene he had just witnessed.
His two roommates were dating.
Actually, it was common for high school students to date, but this was the Alpha dorm, and his two roommates were in a double-Alpha relationship.
He wouldn’t have believed it if he hadn’t seen Li Jiang and Zhou Tian kissing when he returned.
He didn’t discriminate against double-Alpha relationships, but the scene was too much of a shock for him.
After finishing rehearsal today, he walked towards the door, remembering he hadn’t taken his water bottle. Before he reached the door, he heard Li Jiang’s voice.
The classroom door wasn’t closed tightly.
“Damn it, Zhou Tian, I’m warning you again! The mouth is fine, but not the neck!” The person inside wasn’t suppressing his voice at all, practically shouting.
He thought the two were roughhousing again and was about to push the door open and enter when he heard a muffled “mmph.” A strange thought came to his mind—that sound…
His movements froze. He peeked through the door crack, just a glance, and he was completely petrified.
Li Jiang and Zhou Tian were kissing.
The horror level was comparable to going out for a luxurious meal, ordering a Manchu Han Imperial Feast, and then realizing you didn’t bring your wallet.
“The damn door isn’t even closed tightly, don’t go crazy!” After an unknown amount of time, Li Jiang’s voice appeared again. Shang Yan heard the sound of someone coming his way. He immediately turned around and hid in the nearby corner.
Immediately following was the sound of the door being slammed shut. Shang Yan didn’t dare to stay any longer. He let out a breath and ran outside.
When he returned to the classroom and sat back in his seat, Ji Yifei called out to him and asked, “Why do you look like you’ve been cheated out of a million dollars?”
Shang Yan swallowed, looked at Ji Yifei, and then shook his head.
Ji Yifei was startled by his expression and waved his hand in front of his face. “Damn, Shang Yan, don’t tell me you’ve been possessed by something unclean!” As he spoke, he pulled his chair further away from him.
Shang Yan considered for a moment, looked at Ji Yifei, and asked, “Have you ever encountered something, something you thought would never happen in your life, but it happened?”
Ji Yifei thought for a moment, nodded, pointed at Shang Yan, and then pointed at himself.
The two didn’t speak for the entire class period.
Returning to the present, Shang Yan felt more and more depressed. He wanted to ask Li Jiang about it. He sat up and looked over, only to see Li Jiang still sitting on Zhou Tian’s lap playing a game.
His left arm was wrapped around Zhou Tian’s neck, forcing Zhou Tian to lean down to accommodate the person on his lap playing the game.
Zhou Tian held a Chinese language textbook in his hand, but he wasn’t reading it. Instead, he was watching the game screen on Li Jiang’s lap.
Chen Haojiang was still singing in the shower.
“We are each other’s special person. Regardless of the cost, inseparable~”
Shang Yan fiercely suppressed his recent thoughts. He decided not to talk to Li Jiang. It was better to just pretend he didn’t know anything.
Shang Yan forced himself to stop thinking about the matter. He pulled the bed curtain closed and started writing in his diary.
He had developed the habit of writing a diary very early, starting around the fifth grade. He wrote almost a notebook per semester, and he wrote every day without fail. This was his little secret.
When it reached 10:30, the dorm lights went off on time. Shang Yan had just finished writing. He closed his diary, covered himself with the blanket, and went to sleep.
He could still hear the whispering of Li Jiang and Zhou Tian, but perhaps because they were a bit far, Shang Yan couldn’t hear what they were saying.
Perhaps his brain also didn’t want to sort out the jumbled thoughts. Shang Yan fell asleep shortly after.
The second day’s sun arrived as scheduled.
The school anniversary celebration started in the afternoon. School was still held normally in the morning, but when the students in the class thought about not having class in the afternoon, no one had the mind to listen.
Class One was relatively good. It was said that in Class Five downstairs, a pair of deskmates was so excited that one started playing with his phone and was immediately arrested by Old Dog Wang.
Li Jiang was so agitated when recounting this incident that it was as if his own phone had been confiscated. Later, Shang Yan reminded Ji Yifei, and he remembered that Li Jiang’s phone had long been seized by Old Dog Wang.
Shang Yan’s state was very strange all day today. Ji Yifei temporarily concluded that he had picked up something unclean and told him to calm his mind.
He went downstairs during the big break to exercise. His first performance required some flexibility practice beforehand. Just after finishing his exercise, he saw the school’s art department teacher walking over. He politely greeted him.
Teacher: “Yifei, we’ve added a teacher’s singing performance before your program because we were worried you wouldn’t have enough time to change costumes.”
Ji Yifei nodded politely. After bidding farewell to the teacher, he prepared to go back and practice his dance.
The thought of that seductive purple outfit now…
After lunch, all the classes started getting busy with their programs. The performances started at 2:00 PM and went until 10:00 PM. The beginning mainly featured speeches by school leaders, and the performances only began later.
(2:00 PM)
Ji Yifei didn’t dare to eat much lunch because the Chinese dance costume was midriff-baring. Although he wasn’t a girl, if the clothes exposed flabby sides when worn, it would somewhat affect the aesthetic.
He had been awkward about it for the past few days. The students in Class One speculated that it was because he had to dance in a female role, which would ruin the school bully’s reputation. However, today, when several boys watched Ji Yifei put on the performance costume, they didn’t dare to speak.
This, this, this… Is this still the school bully we know?!
Ji Yifei had waist-length black hair, tied casually with a cyan hair band. His light-cyan costume made him look like a young maiden living in a bamboo forest, far removed from the mundane world, giving off a feeling like the lotus that “comes out of the mud unstained and grows elegantly without being seductive.”
Ji Yifei usually liked to wear loose-fitting clothes, so few people in the class had noticed his physique. Shang Yan felt he could hug his waist with one arm.
Ji Yifei noticed their strange gazes. He waved his hand at them and said, “Don’t be obsessed with your ge (brother), ge is just a legend.”
Everyone: Who was it that just spoke of an otherworldly maiden? This is clearly an egotistical gang boss!
Li Jiang cheekily leaned close to Shang Yan and said, “Do you feel like Ji Yifei’s outfit is very familiar?”
The moment Shang Yan saw Li Jiang, he thought of that incident. He backed away a bit and replied, “No feeling.”
Li Jiang glanced at him and lamented, “No childhood. This is absolutely the spitting image of Miss Xiao Qing!” After saying that, he walked towards Ji Yifei, intending to tease him.
Before he could reach him, Shang Yan rushed up with the long, thick down jacket he had prepared earlier, wrapping Ji Yifei up tightly. Ji Yifei didn’t resist. He really wanted to wrap himself up.
Li Jiang shouted, “Damn, Shang Yan, isn’t that being too rude?”
Shang Yan turned around and glanced at him. Just as he was about to retort, he saw Zhou Tian walking towards them and quietly shut his mouth.
Ji Yifei “hmphed” and deliberately spoke in a high-pitched, affected voice, “Don’t tease me, dear sir. I am still unmarried. If you look at me so openly, how will people talk about me later~”
His voice had too much power. Even Shang Yan was stunned. Li Jiang was completely subdued this time, petrified in place.
Zhou Tian eventually dragged him away.
Ji Yifei looked at Shang Yan’s expression, finding it amusing, and intentionally used the cutesy voice again, saying to Shang Yan, “Brother, you are so good to me. Will your Omega be jealous when he finds out?” He didn’t forget to wink flirtatiously.
Shang Yan silently wondered how this person could make this sound with that face…
Like a tractor.
Facing Ji Yifei’s provocation, Shang Yan calmly replied:
“Of course not. You are gege’s dream Omega.”
Ji Yifei rolled his eyes at him, returned to his normal voice, and happened to hear Chen Ken signaling the male performers to change clothes. Ji Yifei patted Shang Yan and said in his normal voice, “Hurry up, brother, go change and charm everyone.”
Shang Yan glanced at him, pursed his lips meaningfully, and left.
Shang Yan also changed into his performance costume. Compared to the female costume, the male costume was very ordinary. However, because School Heartthrob Shang’s looks were so striking, many girls were captivated by his face.
Han Dongjun walked up to Ji Yifei at this time and said, “I’ll bet you a small amount that there will absolutely be confessions today.”
Ji Yifei replied with an “Oh,” and didn’t continue the conversation.
Han Dongjun spoke again, “Our school bully really took a hit this time. I don’t know if he can attract the little girls, but he’ll probably attract a group of hot-blooded Alphas.”
Ji Yifei rolled his eyes and said, “Mine is called contrast, don’t you get it?”
Han Dongjun laughed and patted his back, saying, “Okay, okay, you’ve definitely mastered the contrast.”
At this moment, Shang Yan walked towards them. Hearing their conversation, he couldn’t help but think about confessions.
Confessing like that is too difficult…
He looked at Ji Yifei, who was playfully bantering with Han Dongjun, still wearing that long black down jacket, which reminded him of the time at the hospital entrance.
Perhaps they had been interacting more lately, but Shang Yan always understood that they could maintain this relationship simply because of the mark.
The ridiculous thing was that this mark created an ambiguous situation. For Ji Yifei, it was a burden.
Shang Yan’s expression darkened. Ji Yifei noticed him and shouted, “Brother, why are you standing there like a pole? We don’t have a hide-and-seek scene today.”
Shang Yan pursed his lips, walked over, and said, “Waiting for you to choose me as your ideal husband.”
Ji Yifei thought, He’s acting again. He walked forward, pulled Shang Yan over, and hooked his arm, saying, “Okay, darling, don’t be moody. When you divorce your wife, I’ll marry you immediately.”
Han Dongjun watched the two of them acting in concert, felt unamused standing there, smiled, and walked away.
Everyone was ready. The principal and all the leaders had finished their speeches. The students of Class One were ready to go on stage.
An unusually bold girl shouted “Shang Yan is the most handsome” when she saw him go on stage.
Ji Yifei was just about to look at Shang Yan’s expression when the music started.
The music began with the female and male parts separated, and they came together later.
When positions were originally set, the girl was placed towards the back. In the latter half of the song, Ji Yifei walked step by step towards Shang Yan. Originally, Shang Yan was supposed to grab his hand for the duet part, but the girl who was in the front group suddenly grabbed Shang Yan’s hand and started the next move.
Ji Yifei watched Shang Yan being pulled away and could only find the girl’s original dance partner to dance with.
When he saw the face of the person opposite him, Ji Yifei almost swore.
Isn’t this bastard the green tea-scented, sexually harassing idiot?! And this bastard was from Class Two, how did he end up here?
For some unknown reason, Ji Yifei felt a sudden surge of disgust looking at his face. Thinking that the person was now holding his hand and his other hand was on his waist, Ji Yifei felt like murdering someone. But he knew this performance was important, so he could only endure it silently.
Shang Yan was stunned by the person in front of him. He had been staring at Ji Yifei walking towards him and hadn’t noticed when this girl walked over and grabbed his hand.
He kept staring at the boy who was dancing with Ji Yifei, his gaze seeming to pierce through his skull.
Xi Moci had gone through great lengths to dance this piece with Shang Yan, all for the chance to get close to him. She knew that she and Wu Yiheng had arranged to give the other boy and girl some benefits, and the rest was up to her own effort!
During a position change, Shang Yan met Wu Yiheng’s smug face.
Shang Yan involuntarily looked at the hand of that bastard resting on Ji Yifei’s waist.
The dance finally ended. Shang Yan and Ji Yifei resisted the urge to pull their hands away from the two and took a bow. After getting off stage, their expressions immediately darkened.
Wu Yiheng was still savoring the feeling of having held Ji Yifei’s hand. Before he could react, a cold hand patted his shoulder, and a murderous intent penetrated his performance costume and entered Wu Yiheng’s body.
Ji Yifei disgustedly shook off his hand and ran to the restroom to wash his hands. Xi Moci finally realized that the person dancing with Wu Yiheng wasn’t the unknown girl her best friend had told her about, but clearly Ji Yifei in a male-dressed-as-female role.
She realized she had been tricked by Wu Yiheng. She wondered why Wu Yiheng would help her for no reason. He clearly just wanted to use her to hook up with Ji Yifei.
Xi Moci: Since Wu Yiheng has been unjust, can she be blamed for being disloyal?
She immediately put on a tearful face and explained, “Senior Shang Yan, it… it was Wu Yiheng who made me do it. I’m sorry!” After saying that, she hurriedly ran away, leaving Wu Yiheng and Shang Yan there.
The “wronged” Wu Yiheng shouted at the back of the ungrateful runner, “Xi Moci, you b1tch! Have some decency! It was clearly…”
Before he could finish, the hand on his shoulder exerted force. Shang Yan said in a low voice, “I’ll settle this with you after the performance is over.”
After saying that, he patted Wu Yiheng’s shoulder and went to the restroom.
Wu Yiheng knew he definitely wouldn’t get off easy this time. He felt that Shang Yan’s tone just now was filled with murderous intent, along with the suppressed Alpha pheromones.
He stood there, clenching his fists. Why? Why can Shang Yan dance with Ji Yifei, but I can’t?
He chuckled softly, a trace of sadness flashing across his face, and then began to laugh madly, completely looking like a lunatic. Passersby thought there was a drama performance today and repeatedly praised the guy’s excellent acting skills.
