He is not my Alpha! - Chapter 21
“Where did you two run off to? I’ve been looking for you forever.” Han Dongjun held a piece of Black Forest cake, Ji Yifei’s favorite flavor.
Ji Yifei automatically ignored the useless question in Han Dongjun’s words. He plunged his fork into the cake, scooped out a piece, and shoved it into his mouth.
Han Dongjun had long guessed he would do this. He put the cake into the “thief’s” hand, turned around, and took the nearest macaron.
“You two weren’t here just now and missed a great scene,” he said, examining the macaron in his hand. It was pale pink, quite cute.
“What happened?” Ji Yifei still had the Black Forest cake in his mouth but didn’t forget to ask for gossip.
Han Dongjun motioned for them to come closer. Shang Yan and Ji Yifei understood and approached. The three put their heads together.
Han Dongjun lowered his voice and said, “Wen’s eldest son, Wen Yikuan, God knows what got into him, he was trying to lay a hand on Wen Xinxin in the back garden.”
Ji Yifei’s mouth opened into an ‘O’ shape. He scolded Han Dongjun, “Why didn’t you step in to help? No matter what, he’s a classmate!”
“I’m not finished yet,” Han Dongjun signaled him to be quiet and continued, “Wei Zhiheng stepped in to stop it, but his method was a bit intense. He punched the guy away. You didn’t see the scene; Wen Yikuan’s nose bled right there.”
Ji Yifei’s expression became even more dramatic. He exclaimed, “Awesome, a real man.”
Shang Yan next to him was expressionless but also echoed, “Indeed very brave.”
Before Han Dongjun could say anything else, a scream came from the center of the banquet hall. The three turned their heads in unison.
Unfortunately, a crowd had already gathered there. The three couldn’t see anything. Ji Yifei’s curiosity erupted, and he wanted to go join the fun. “Let’s go, let’s see what happened.”
Receiving confirmation from the other two, the trio walked over together, but were blocked before they could get close.
Ji Yifei saw his mother walk over and give him a look, and he knew he couldn’t join the fun up front.
“Forget it, forget it, you two go look.” Before he finished speaking, a familiar sensation shot up from his tailbone. He felt his scent gland begin to throb faintly.
It was pheromone disorder.
Ji Yifei suspected he hadn’t checked the almanac before leaving home today. He glanced around. His mother and father were less than ten meters away.
He turned his head to look at Shang Yan, finding Shang Yan looking at him too. Ji Yifei pointed to his scent gland.
Although the two already had some “experience” with this, this time it was suddenly happening in front of so many people.
Shang Yan understood his meaning, nodded, and walked in the opposite direction. Ji Yifei told Han Dongjun he needed to go to the restroom, glanced at his mother who was talking to someone else, and quickly walked in Shang Yan’s direction.
Han Dongjun was focused on joining the excitement. When he realized Ji Yifei had gone to the restroom, he planned to drag Shang Yan along, but when he turned around, Shang Yan was gone too.
Han Dongjun: “Does he still need someone to accompany him to the restroom at this age?”
Ji Yifei hadn’t walked far when he saw Shang Yan. He ran a few steps to catch up.
“This time is too sudden…” Ji Yifei felt his pheromones were about to go out of control. Seeing no one around, he released a little bit of his pheromones.
Shang Yan quickly caught the hint of jasmine, and his mood brightened involuntarily. He looked at the Omega beside him: “It is very sudden. Looks like we need to resolve this quickly.”
He reached out and pulled Ji Yifei toward a nearby corner.
The Wen family had clearly spent a large sum on this banquet, renting out both the indoor and outdoor areas. However, since the weather was cold, few people were outside.
Ji Yifei felt Shang Yan’s palm was a bit cold, but the place where it touched him was somewhat warm.
They found a surveillance dead zone. It was the familiar posture. The weather was too cold. The heat escaping from their noses was visible in the air.
Ji Yifei felt that every part of his body, except for his scent gland, was freezing and couldn’t help but shiver.
Shang Yan’s hand resting on him could feel the slight trembling. He released comforting pheromones.
Ji Yifei was soothed after receiving the pheromones of his matching Alpha. The mint scent calmed his scent gland down slightly, but it also cleared Ji Yifei’s head a bit.
“Shang Yan, I just realized something.” Ji Yifei felt Shang Yan’s hands working on the clothes on his neck. The temperature of his hands was slightly higher than before, and his neck felt a bit itchy at the back.
“What is it?” Shang Yan replied while concentrating on Ji Yifei’s clothes.
“In the future, if I get sleepy in class, I’ll ask you to release some pheromones. This mint scent is so refreshing; I won’t be sleepy in class anymore.” Ji Yifei laughed at his own “wild idea” as he spoke. His body was also gradually warming up.
“Okay.” Shang Yan was amused by him and also laughed, but his actions didn’t stop. Ji Yifei’s formal wear was too difficult to undo.
The buttons are so tight.
Ji Yifei felt Shang Yan “wrestling” with his clothes. He reached for his own buttons to help, but his lowered head bumped into Shang Yan’s head.
Shang Yan felt Ji Yifei’s hair lightly brush against his chin. It was slightly itchy. The Alpha’s Adam’s apple couldn’t help but bob up and down.
Ji Yifei, as if by a strange impulse, looked up at the Alpha, their eyes meeting.
Too close, Ji Yifei thought.
Pheromones were being exchanged between them. Pheromones are the most direct expression of hormones. The natural instincts of an Omega and an Alpha screamed in their hearts, tearing at their rationality.
His scent gland was more uncomfortable now. The Omega’s nature began to manifest in Ji Yifei. He felt his body becoming a bit soft, and his gaze fixed on Shang Yan started to become slightly hazy, but his perception of the pheromones grew deeper and deeper.
Shang Yan, as an Alpha, felt it more intensely. He quickened his movements, ignoring Ji Yifei’s “fervent” Omega gaze.
Fortunately, the buttons of the clothes were finally undone. Shang Yan tore off the scent blocker patch on the back of Ji Yifei’s neck. The pheromones uniquely belonging to Ji Yifei were released into the air, intertwining with the other scent.
Shang Yan took off the glasses on his nose and put them in his pocket. He lowered his head and bit the Omega’s scent gland. His hands slightly pressed against Ji Yifei’s back, as if he could feel the two bones on his spine.
Ji Yifei was still trembling slightly.
The two emerged from the surveillance dead zone again. Ji Yifei’s face had turned flushed, and he couldn’t even feel the cold anymore.
Ji Yifei: I want to stand in the air to calm down.
Shang Yan took out his glasses from his pocket and put them on, then checked the time on his watch.
Less than half an hour.
They walked side-by-side toward the main hall. Ji Yifei became quiet again. Shang Yan noticed that after every “sudden situation” was over, he would become very quiet.
The scent of jasmine and mint had dissipated, but the lingering feeling was hard to shake off.
Ji Yifei unconsciously quickened his pace. Shang Yan also quickened his.
He’s not following behind me this time, Shang Yan thought, watching the Omega constantly accelerating his steps.
Soon after returning to the main hall, Ji Yifei’s mother and father walked over and told Ji Yifei to prepare to leave. The reason was largely related to the Wen family’s son from earlier. Ji Yifei nodded, saying goodbye to Han Dongjun and Shang Yan.
Han Dongjun had been teasing him and Shang Yan about spending so much time in the restroom since they returned. But this time, he noticed that although Ji Yifei still retorted as usual, Shang Yan was quiet and didn’t speak. He was even smiling.
His demeanor was extremely odd.
He felt an indescribable feeling, but couldn’t pinpoint what it was. The banquet was already over. His mother was also calling him home.
The three of them in this banquet were like three children playing in a courtyard after school, needing to go home when it got dark.
Shang Yan walked Han Dongjun off, and was informed by the Wen family’s servant that his father was still talking with the Wen family head, so he could only play on his phone in a corner of the banquet hall.
He grabbed a slice of Black Forest cake on the way and took a photo with his phone, posting a rare update on his moments.
The first person to like it was Ji Yifei.
Shang Yan dug into the cake with a spoon and tasted it. It was too sweet.
He felt his phone vibrate a few times. He opened it and saw a message from “Ji Sansui” (Ji Three-year-old) at the top of the chat list.
Ji Sansui: You haven’t left yet? Shang Shisui (Shang Ten-year-old): No, they’re still talking. Ji Sansui: Is the cake good?
Shang Yan smiled looking at the text message. He’s gone, yet he’s still thinking about the cake.
Shang Shisui: It’s good. Do you want me to bring a piece to school for you? Ji Sansui: Forget it. Actually, I thought it was just okay when I tasted it. You continue to appreciate it. I need to do my homework.
Shang Yan replied with a “bye-bye” emoji and stared blankly at the phone screen. After a while, he reached out for the cake again, his eyes still listless.
Before he finished the cake, his father came out, followed by the Wen family head, Wen Xinxin, and Wei Zhiheng.
The Wen family head saw him and walked over to shake hands. Words like “distinguished talent” started pouring out. He even commercially praised Shang Yan by comparing him to his own son, Wen Xinxin, who was behind him. Unfortunately, Wen Xinxin, after raising his head and waving a hello at first, didn’t look up at Shang Yan again.
Wei Zhiheng, on the other hand, was spaced out the whole time. The two stood behind the constantly flattering Wen family head, giving off an indescribable sense of comedy.
Finally, Shang’s father interrupted the man’s “flattering show” by changing the topic. He took Shang Yan away. On the way, he noticed his son’s strange expression.
He glanced at the driver through the rearview mirror. The driver understood and raised the partition. Only Shang Yan and his father were left in the back seat.
“Where is Mom?” Shang Yan spoke first. He intuitively knew his father had something to say to him.
“She went shopping with her best friend.” Shang’s father looked at the person in front of him. His posture had become straight; he had grown up.
“I originally didn’t want to tell you… but after thinking about it, since Wei Zhiheng and Wen Xinxin are your classmates, I should tell you.” He stopped here and looked at Shang Yan.
Shang Yan felt his gaze and said, “A political marriage?”
He watched the person opposite nod, and sighed. He knew he couldn’t interfere with this matter, and the two main characters didn’t seem to know the truth either.
Sacrifices for benefit. This kind of thing was common. But this was the closest it had ever happened to him.
Shang’s father examined his expression, seemingly guessing what he was thinking. He said, “Don’t worry. Our family hasn’t reached the point where you need to sacrifice yourself for a political marriage to maintain interests. Our family advocates for free love, regardless of family background.”
Shang Yan pursed his lips and smiled, not speaking.
Back at school, the focus immediately shifted to the monthly exam. Ji Yifei was battling the math practice book in front of him with his head down.
Li Jiang poked him in the back and asked, “Have you seen Young Master Shang? He hasn’t shown up even though self-study has been going on for so long?”
Ji Yifei shook his head without turning around and replied blandly, “Traffic jam on the road, probably.” Then he continued to look at the problem.
Li Jiang felt like he was asking for trouble. He planned to take out his phone to “care” for his classmate Shang Yan, but just as he took out his phone, Zhou Tian slapped his thigh next to him.
Li Jiang quickly put his phone back in the drawer, adopting the appearance of a good student. He twirled the pen in his hand, pretending to ponder a question.
Director Wang walked to the entrance of Class One, scanned the students in the class, saw they were all studying diligently, and nodded.
The empty seat next to Ji Yifei in the first row caught his attention. He knew it was Shang Yan’s seat.
He walked to Ji Yifei’s side and said, “Did Student Shang Yan take a leave of absence for something?”
Ji Yifei heard his voice and knew he was there. He reluctantly put down his pen, looked up at Director Wang, and replied, “I don’t know.”
Director Wang said “Oh,” saw the problem Ji Yifei had half-solved, waved his hand, and said, “You continue studying.” Then he turned and left, presumably going to the teachers’ office.
“Holy sh*t…” As soon as Director Wang left, a wave of whispers swept through the class. Everyone was complaining about him. Li Jiang behind Ji Yifei was also talking. He took out his phone again to text Shang Yan, but before the message could be sent, he felt a shadow standing next to him.
A shadow covered the light above his head. He didn’t dare to move rashly. He pretended to casually slip his phone into the drawer and then pretended to flip through a book.
“Hey, where’s my Chinese textbook…” He didn’t forget to say a line, but the shadow didn’t move at all. He sighed, looked up, resigning himself to his fate.
The face he saw was Shang Yan’s.
“Damn it, are you an idiot, Shang Yan? Why are you standing here without making a sound!” Li Jiang couldn’t help but curse out loud.
But Shang Yan just smiled and didn’t reply. He turned around, and not far behind him stood Director Wang, who had just gone to the office.
Li Jiang successfully earned a one-period field trip to the office. Ji Yifei was almost dying of laughter watching him leave.
Shang Yan sat down in his seat, took off his backpack, pulled out a thick stack of test papers, and asked, “Is it that funny?”
Ji Yifei hadn’t stopped laughing yet. He replied, “It’s absolutely hilarious, hahahahaha! You didn’t see his fake move when he hid his phone; it was so fake, hahahahaha.” He said this while trying to imitate the move, and Shang Yan also watched in response.
