Heartbeat - Chapter 12
The camera continued to pan across the group in order. To Su Jianyue’s right sat Yu Lin, whose slip of paper clearly bore Su Jianyue’s name.
Next was Shen Xun, whose slip also named Su Jianyue.
To Shen Xun’s right sat Ren Peng, who had written Jiang Ying’s name. Beside him, Liang Wenjing had chosen Su Jianyue. The final participant, Mao Ning, had written Zheng Tianming’s name.
With all the slips revealed, host Yang Rui smiled. “Based on the names on these slips, Su Jianyue is the most popular Alpha, receiving three votes. Among the Omegas, Shen Xun is the most popular, also with three votes.”
After scanning the slips again, Yang Rui continued, “Two participants chose each other: Su Jianyue and Shen Xun. You two may now take your luggage and select your rooms in the villa. The rest of you will need to negotiate your room assignments.”
Yu Lin and Liang Wenjing exchanged wry smiles. Su Jianyue was indeed in high demand.
The livestream viewers flooded the chat with comments:
Wow! Both of them chose each other!
Â
OMG, this is so sweet! I can’t wait to see their daily life together!
Â
I knew it! Shen Xun and Su Jianyue are definitely mutually attracted to each other!
Â
Waaah! My childhood OTP is back from the dead!
Â
They don’t even seem like they haven’t been in contact for over a decade.
Â
Even if they haven’t, it doesn’t matter! As long as they reconnect on this show, that’s all that matters! (dog head emoji)
Su Jianyue, unaware of the online chatter, stood up to grab her suitcase. Noticing Shen Xun hadn’t moved, she prompted, “Sister, let’s go! We should pick our rooms first.”
Shen Xun gave her a faint smile. “Okay.”
The two women wheeled their suitcases into the villa, one following the other.
The villa was brand new. The ground floor featured a spacious living room, with an open-concept kitchen and dining area on one side, all impeccably clean and tidy.
“Sister, which floor should we choose?” Su Jianyue asked directly.
Shen Xun glanced around. The villa lacked an elevator, making the third floor too strenuous to carry luggage to. The ground floor, being adjacent to the living room and dining area, would likely be noisy.
“Let’s choose rooms on the second floor,” Shen Xun suggested after a moment’s thought.
“Mm-hmm, whatever you say,” Su Jianyue agreed with an eager nod.
Turning to Shen Xun, she added, “Come on, Sis, I’ll help you carry the boxes.”
“No need, we’ll carry them together,” Shen Xun replied with a smile, instinctively reaching out to tuck a stray strand of hair behind Su Jianyue’s ear.
Su Jianyue gazed at her with a radiant smile, unconsciously nuzzling her cheek against Shen Xun’s fingers.
Their interaction was so seamless, as if they had done this countless times before, sending the live stream audience into a frenzy.
Holy crap, their chemistry is off the charts!
Â
Right? Who fixes someone’s hair like that unless they’re already close?
Â
They’ve definitely been in contact this whole time. Could my ship actually be sailing?
Â
Inhale, exhale* They’re so sweet! Shen Xun is so doting!
Â
Wait… something feels off. Isn’t Su Jianyue the Alpha here?
Â
Kawaii1 is still a 1! Hmph~
Unaware of the netizens’ “Kawaii1” nickname, Su Jianyue and Shen Xun carried their two large suitcases up to the second floor.
“Sister, let’s go check out the rooms first.”
“Alright,” Shen Xun replied with a slight nod.
They first examined the two rooms on the left. These rooms were decorated in a black-and-white palette, creating an atmosphere of understated elegance and comfort. In contrast, the two rooms on the right were painted in soft, pastel pinks, resembling princess chambers.
Shen Xun wasn’t particularly fond of overly ornate rooms. However, when she glanced at Su Jianyue, she noticed the younger girl staring excitedly at the pink rooms, her eyes sparkling with delight.
A gentle smile curved Shen Xun’s lips as she teased softly, “Do you like them?”
Su Jianyue quickly shook her head. Knowing her sister preferred simple black-and-white decor, she insisted, “No, let’s choose the rooms on the left. These pink ones are too flashy.”
Shen Xun chuckled softly and nodded. “Alright, we’ll do as you say. Let’s go put our luggage away and unpack a bit.”
“Mhm!” Su Jianyue nodded obediently.
The two cameramen filming their daily lives followed them into their respective rooms.
Su Jianyue opened her two large suitcases. Since they would be staying here for over half a month, she decided to hang all her clothes in the closet.
The cameraman focused on the nine plush toys in Su Jianyue’s suitcase. Su Jianyue smiled at the camera. “I’ll give these out to everyone when we gather in the living room later. First, I need to unpack my clothes and shoes.”
With that, Su Jianyue busied herself. She hung her short-sleeved shirts, shorts, skirts, and other garments on hangers in the closet, then arranged her shoes in the shoe cabinet.
She placed her toiletries and skincare products in the bathroom and tucked her undergarments into a drawer in the closet. Finally, she emptied the snacks from her suitcase, leaving both large cases completely empty.
Clutching a piglet plush toy, Su Jianyue walked next door. The door was ajar, and she knocked lightly. “Sister, are you done unpacking?”
Shen Xun was still organizing her clothes. Seeing Su Jianyue, she smiled and waved her in. “Almost done. Come in and sit for a bit.”
Su Jianyue entered the room, cradling the piglet. She glanced around, impressed. *Just like my sister—she’s already got everything perfectly organized in no time.*
She leaned closer to Shen Xun and held out the piglet. “Here, Sister. A piglet for you.”
Shen Xun reached out and took the little pig, examining it closely. This time, Su Jianyue had given her a white one.
Her eyes curved into a smile as she poked the piglet’s nose. “What’s different about this one compared to the last? Just the color?” she asked casually.
Su Jianyue nodded enthusiastically, her smile radiant. “Mhm! This one’s pure white and so chubby! Isn’t it adorable?”
Shen Xun’s smile deepened as she toyed with the piglet in her hand, her gaze fixed on Su Jianyue’s face. “Yes, it’s adorable.”
“I knew you’d love it!” Su Jianyue exclaimed, her voice brimming with joy.
After a moment’s thought, Shen Xun added, “Am I the only one getting a gift? Or did you prepare gifts for everyone else too?”
Su Jianyue scratched the back of her neck, flashing Shen Xun a sweet smile. “Sister, you know me so well! I prepared gifts for everyone.”
Shen Xun’s expression visibly cooled, the smile vanishing from her face.
Noticing Shen Xun’s displeasure, Su Jianyue quickly explained, “I gave everyone else different animals. The piglet is only for you.”
Only then did Shen Xun’s expression soften.
Meanwhile, the live stream chat was flooding with comments:
Hahaha, I’m dying of laughter! Our baby Shen Xun just gave us a one-second cold glare performance.
Â
Wait, Shen Xun said “last time”? That means they were already in contact before the show!
Â
Exactly! They seem so familiar with each other. Su Jianyue must have given Shen Xun more than one piglet before.
Â
Aaaah! When Shen Xun said the piglet was cute, she was staring at Su Jianyue’s face! I’m shipping them so hard!
Â
Our baby Shen Xun is so possessive! She won’t let her little moon give piglets to anyone else.
Â
Something’s off, something’s off! Remember that bookshelf full of piglets in Shen Xun’s room this morning? I thought it didn’t fit her vibe at all. Could Su Jianyue have given her all of them?
Â
Sisters! I just looked it up—it’s huge! Little Moon is a Pig in the Chinese zodiac! What does it mean that she’s giving Shen Xun piglets? Is she offering herself to Shen Xun?
Â
This is wild! Shen Xun displaying a whole bookshelf of piglets? That’s too much love! Oh my god, we’re already witnessing a mutual crush right from the start!
