Her Little Mute Omega [Rebirth] - Chapter 16
Two strikingly glamorous women suddenly entered the shop, immediately drawing the attention of all the other customers.
As everyone turned to look, they were instantly overwhelmed by two distinct A+ Class Omega pheromone signatures.
The ordinary Alphas in the shop felt their bl00d rush, biting fiercely into the desserts in their hands.
This level of pheromone exposure wouldn’t drive them mad, but it was enough to make the ordinary Alphas feel a burning heat throughout their bodies.
The two women clearly relished the various gazes directed at them.
The older woman, dressed head-to-toe in designer brands, exuded the air of a wealthy socialite.
She glanced around at the shop’s decor and clicked her tongue, her meticulously made-up face twisting with disdain. “Qianrou, this is your aunt’s shop? It’s smaller than our bathroom at home, but for a Beta to own a place like this, it’s not bad.”
“Mom, who’s my aunt?” Duan Qianrou asked with feigned innocence. “Everyone here looks so poor.”
Hearing this, the crowd instinctively lowered their heads.
Some people didn’t even bother buying anything; they simply left.
Against two A+ Class Omegas, these ordinary, lower-ranked individuals stood no chance.
Many might never encounter an A+ Class Omega in their entire lives.
In this society, Omegas were even rarer than Alphas.
Even ordinary Omegas could spark fierce competition among wealthy families, let alone A+ Class ones.
Moreover, it was clear these two women came from privileged backgrounds.
Ye Xian leaned against the wall, coldly observing the two posturing women.
She recognized the older one as Yan Yi, who had married a divorced Alpha.
Ye Xian could guess Yan Yi was here to avenge her daughter.
Hearing the voice, Yan Zhu narrowed her eyes, thinking for a moment before finally connecting Yan Yi’s face to the events of twenty years ago.
“Dear customers, we apologize for the inconvenience, but we’ll be closing for the day. Please come again,” Yan Zhu said with a smile, working with the staff to maintain order in the store.
Within minutes, all the customers had left.
“Take the day off,” Yan Zhu told the employees. “Go change and head home.”
The employees exchanged glances before leaving together.
The room fell silent.
Yan Zhu turned to the remaining two customers and said politely, “We’re closed for the day. Please shop elsewhere.”
“Sister, I came all this way to see you, and you’re just going to kick us out?” Yan Yi’s lips curled into a smug smile, her innate sense of superiority radiating as she pointed to the nearby table and chairs. “Sister, hurry and wipe those down. Who knows who’s been sitting there? It’s filthy.”
Her eyes were filled with disgust, as if she couldn’t bear the sight.
Yan Zhu didn’t move, her polite demeanor hardening into cold indifference. “If you find it dirty, you’re welcome to leave.”
“Sister, how can you be so heartless?” Yan Yi feigned a wounded expression, refusing to sit. “This place is dilapidated, cramped, and messy. We Omegas are delicate and refined, unlike you Betas with your rough skin and coarse manners. You might be used to this, but we’re not. You should at least consider our comfort.”
Yan Yi’s words dripped with disdain and contempt, delivered with an air of superiority.
In her youth, Yan Zhu, proud and arrogant, would have been enraged. But years of witnessing the fickle nature of human relationships had hardened her. This petty mockery barely registered.
“After all these years, you’re still throwing tantrums?” Yan Zhu asked coldly. “Did the Yan Family fail to teach you how to be a proper Omega? Or did the Duan Family neglect that as well?”
Her calm tone struck a nerve. Yan Yi’s face flushed with anger.
Yan Zhu pressed her advantage. “Your Alpha husband should be experienced, considering he’s already been married once. It’s rare for an A+ Class Omega to marry a divorced Alpha. Anyone would think there’s something wrong with the Omega to stoop so low.”
She deliberately emphasized the last four words.
As expected, Yan Yi’s face turned livid, speechless with rage.
Ye Xian, watching from the shadows, couldn’t help but stifle a laugh.
Yan Zhu’s sharp tongue remained as unforgiving as ever.
Seeing this, Duan Qianrou dropped her pretense and unleashed a furious tirade at Yan Zhu. “What are you so proud of, you Beta? You gave birth to a monster who can’t even differentiate! You deserved to be kicked out of the Yan Family. A useless Beta like you is a disgrace to our family!”
Yan Zhu gritted her teeth, her hands clenching the edge of the table so tightly she nearly left marks. She could ignore insults directed at herself, but she wouldn’t tolerate a single word against her daughter.
Just as Yan Zhu was about to retort, an overwhelming Alpha presence surged from within the room.
The once haughty Duan Qianrou instantly felt a wave of fear wash over her.
Yan Yi, standing beside her, paled visibly.
Even Ye Xian couldn’t help but tremble inwardly.
Under the absolute dominance of an S-Class Alpha, lower-ranked Omegas were utterly powerless to resist.
“Vice President Duan is known for his gentle and refined demeanor,” Lu Chan’s tall figure emerged from the shadows, gracefully settling into a nearby seat. “How did he end up marrying a second wife and fathering a daughter who are both more shrewish than the last?”
A single, icy glance from Lu Chan sent Duan Qianrou and Yan Yi trembling with fear.
“Sister Lu, what are you doing here?” Duan Qianrou forced a strained smile, though she looked on the verge of tears, her expression twisted and unnatural.
Lu Chan ignored her question, her frigid gaze settling on Yan Yi. “Like mother, like daughter. I wonder what Chairman Yan and Vice President Duan would think if they knew about today’s events.”
“President Lu, my sister and I are family. We came to visit her. Right, Sister?” Yan Yi hastily explained, her voice cracking with desperation.
Her meticulously applied makeup was now streaked with cold sweat, making her look almost comical.
The two men Lu Chan had mentioned were Yan Zhu’s elder brother and her husband, both figures she deeply feared.
Hearing this, Yan Zhu remained composed, her voice calm as she said, “This shop is closed for the day. You may leave now.”
“Sister, we’ll visit again next time,” Yan Yi blurted out.
She bowed stiffly to Lu Chan, then dragged Duan Qianrou out the door in a disheveled retreat.
As the door slammed shut, Lu Chan withdrew her oppressive aura and turned to face the person behind her.
Mu Jin stood there, the corners of her lips curved upward in a triumphant smile.
Lu Chan’s brow furrowed slightly.
Everyone else cowered under her Alpha’s presence, but Mu Jin seemed completely unaffected. Even those who hadn’t yet differentiated wouldn’t dare challenge an Alpha’s dominance.
“Sister Chan, thank you,” Mu Jin said, her eyes crinkling into a sweet smile as she caught Lu Chan’s gaze.
Lu Chan’s heart softened, and a faint smile touched her lips. “You’re welcome.”
Yan Zhu, observing their amicable interaction, felt a flicker of unease. She glanced at Mu Jin and said, “President Lu, we’re closed for today. Please come again next time.”
The dismissal was unmistakable.
Lu Chan paused, then rose, gave a polite nod, and turned to leave.
Ye Xian remained seated, meeting Yan Zhu’s gaze. She pointed at herself, her voice pitiful, “Do I have to go too?”
Yan Zhu gave her a firm nod.
Ye Xian pouted and reluctantly followed Lu Chan out.
Now alone in the room, Mu Jin’s smile vanished, her expression turning serious as she awaited the conversation to come.
