Her Little Mute Omega [Rebirth] - Chapter 6
The gym was crowded on Saturday morning, with many people already working out by nine o’clock.
Lu Chan had purchased the most expensive VIP annual membership, which included a personal trainer and a private changing room.
The gym didn’t separate workout areas for Alphas and Omegas, but they strictly verified whether each Omega entering was in heat.
Similarly, the facility sprayed large amounts of suppressant mist daily to prevent sudden Omega heats.
Lu Chan exercised on the treadmill, her cold, elegant face gradually glistening with fine beads of sweat that trickled down her fair skin before disappearing into her collar.
Her striking beauty and aloof, proud demeanor quickly drew the attention of many, particularly Omegas.
Lu Chan was accustomed to these gazes and ignored them.
“Miss Lu, your phone is ringing,” her personal trainer said politely with a smile.
Lu Chan stopped, took her phone, glanced at the caller ID, and pressed the answer button.
Before she could speak, Ye Xian’s cautious yet excited voice came through the line: “Chanchan, are you at the gym?”
“Mm,” Lu Chan replied coolly, picking up a towel to wipe her sweat.
Her casual movements were both graceful and sharp, causing some Omegas to blush and their hearts to race.
Lu Chan glanced at them, hung up the phone, and turned to walk toward the locker room.
The personal trainer followed behind, smiling. “Miss Lu, you’re as popular as ever. Some Omega girls come here just to see you. Meeting you probably makes their whole day.”
Lu Chan’s brow furrowed slightly at this remark.
Remembering the Omegas’ frenzied behavior, a flicker of distaste flashed in her eyes.
The trainer, sensing her displeasure, wisely changed the subject, instead introducing the gym’s newly acquired equipment.
Ye Xian hung up the phone, pouting and letting out a soft, coquettish hum as she idly played with her spoon.
Sunlight streamed through the window, illuminating her delicate profile and casting a faint shadow of melancholy across her face.
Noticing her mood, Yan Zhu approached and asked softly, “Sister Xian, what’s wrong?”
“Ugh, it’s Lu Chan again, breaking my heart every day,” Ye Xian sighed, clutching her chest with a pitiful expression. “I wanted to go to the gym, but she’s ignoring me. I’ll be all alone with no one to keep me company.”
As she spoke, Ye Xian’s expression grew increasingly mournful, and she began to sob quietly, wiping at the corners of her eyes.
Despite having witnessed Ye Xian’s dramatic performances countless times, Yan Zhu couldn’t help but feel a pang of sympathy. She gently offered, “I’ll have Xiao Jin go with you.”
“Wouldn’t that be a problem? The shop is so busy right now,” Ye Xian said, glancing up cautiously, carefully suppressing her inner delight.
“It’s fine, we can manage,” Yan Zhu assured her.
“Thank you, Xiao Zhuzhu! I knew you were the kindest to me,” Ye Xian exclaimed, leaping to her feet and wrapping Yan Zhu in a tight hug, pressing her cheek against hers.
Caught off guard, Yan Zhu froze, unable to react.
Fortunately, the shop wasn’t crowded at the moment, sparing them from too much embarrassment.
Ye Xian, though several years older, always loved to act like a child around her, often throwing her arms around her without warning.
This childishness had remained unchanged from childhood to adulthood.
Ye Xian sat contentedly, her curved eyes brimming with a joyful smile.
Less than five minutes later, a lively figure appeared before her, her radiant smile as warm and pure as a little sun.
“Xiao Jin, it’s better to wear tight-fitting clothes for exercising,” Ye Xian said with a wink and a gentle smile.
Mu Jin blinked in surprise, glanced down at her dress, and typed, “Aunt Ye, I’m just here to keep you company. I won’t be working out.”
“What’s the fun in exercising alone? Xiao Jin, change your clothes and join me!” Ye Xian pleaded, widening her eyes and pouting in a childlike manner. She added softly, “I’ve already gotten you a membership card.”
Mu Jin’s expression turned alarmed, and she quickly shook her head. “Aunt Ye, you shouldn’t have gone to such expense…”
Before she could finish, Ye Xian interrupted with a laugh. “Don’t be so formal with me! It’s just a card—consider it a little gift from Aunt Ye.”
As she spoke, Ye Xian slipped the card into Mu Jin’s hand and whispered, “Don’t let your mom find out, or she’ll scold me again.”
Hearing this, Mu Jin couldn’t refuse. She glanced at Yan Zhu and nodded obediently.
Ye Xian immediately smiled with satisfaction, taking Mu Jin’s hand and leading her inside to change.
Ye Xian occasionally bought new clothes for Mu Jin, but they were usually cute, brightly colored dresses. She had never bought sportswear or anything similar.
Mu Jin’s own wardrobe consisted mainly of casual, loose-fitting clothes with a distinctly student-like vibe.
“Xiao Jin, you’re graduating this year. You should start buying some more mature, even a little sexy, outfits,” Ye Xian said, carefully examining the clothes in the closet and making her selections.
Mu Jin stood beside her, nervously clasping her hands together, her cheeks flushing slightly. She remained silent.
“When did you get this sportswear?” Ye Xian’s eyes suddenly lit up as she pulled out a short athletic top from the closet.
The cropped tank top with spaghetti straps and low-waisted shorts were a vibrant, fiery red—both sporty and alluring.
“I bought it during my freshman year. I haven’t worn it in ages,” Mu Jin typed, her face flushed, a hint of nervousness in her obsidian eyes.
“Wear this,” Ye Xian declared happily, swiftly packing the outfit into a bag.
Seeing this, Mu Jin pursed her lips and deleted the words she had been about to type to protest.
The gym was crowded, filled with the mingled scents of Alphas and Omegas that permeated the air, raising the temperature.
However, this level of pheromonal stimulation only heightened adrenal activity, not enough to cause loss of control.
Ye Xian led Mu Jin to the front desk to register, scanning the room but failing to spot Lu Chan.
While Mu Jin filled out the forms, Ye Xian quietly asked a nearby staff member, “Where’s Lu Chan?”
“Miss Lu is trying out the latest exercise equipment,” the staff member replied with a polite smile, noticing the disappointment on Ye Xian’s face. “Her locker room is currently empty. You’re welcome to use it.”
Ye Xian nodded, the excitement in her eyes dimming considerably.
Whenever new equipment arrived, Lu Chan was always invited to test it first.
If Lu Chan approved, the equipment would become popular.
After all, no one would question the judgment of an S-Class Alpha.
Mu Jin finished filling out the forms and noticed Ye Xian’s gloomy expression. She asked softly, “Aunt Ye, what’s wrong? Don’t you like it here because it’s crowded?”
Ye Xian shook her head, forcing a smile. “Let’s go change.”
Upon reaching Lu Chan’s changing room, Ye Xian quickly changed and smiled at Mu Jin. “I have some errands to run. Go ahead and change and pick out some equipment outside. No need to wait for me here.”
Mu Jin nodded obediently, took her clothes, and went inside, closing the door behind her.
Though the changing room appeared small from the outside, it was actually spacious enough for two people to change comfortably at the same time.
Mu Jin held up the sportswear she had bought during her student days, her dark, bright eyes filled with hesitation.
She used to love wearing this outfit, but now it felt somewhat inappropriate.
Mu Jin pursed her lips, her expression still conflicted.
After sitting for a while, she finally resolved to change.
Turning her back to the door, she carefully folded her skirt.
Just as she was about to put on the top, she heard a click behind her.
Mu Jin’s heart lurched. Startled, she whirled around, clutching the top to her chest.
When she saw the figure standing outside, her pupils constricted in shock, and her fair cheeks flushed crimson, as beautiful as a translucent peach.
“M-Miss Lu…” Mu Jin stammered, trembling with nervousness. She lowered her head, biting down on her moist lips, her voice catching in her throat.
Lu Chan stood at the doorway, instinctively averting her gaze.
A moment later, she turned back, openly staring at the fair, slender figure before her.
At this time, Mu Jin’s figure was still slender, her waist delicate, much like when they had first married.
Later, she had grown increasingly thin, no matter how much she ate, she couldn’t gain weight.
Lu Chan scanned Mu Jin up and down several times before finally shifting her gaze and asking in a low voice, “Miss Mu, are you here to work out too?”
Mu Jin’s head nearly drooped to the floor, her face burning so hot it felt like her brain was about to short-circuit. She nodded meekly, clutching her clothes tightly and daring not to speak.
“What kind of equipment do you prefer, Miss Mu?” Lu Chan continued.
The changing room was empty, and Lu Chan’s tall frame completely blocked the doorway, ensuring Mu Jin wouldn’t be seen by anyone else.
Mu Jin parted her lips, her mind blank, the device hanging from her chest swaying slightly.
Seeing this, Lu Chan realized this wasn’t the time for conversation. She closed the door halfway and said, “You should change first.”
Mu Jin nodded instinctively, only daring to look up when she heard the click of the latch. Her dark eyes shimmered with tears, a mix of excitement and grievance.
Lu Chan waited outside for a moment before the door opened, revealing a petite and slender figure.
A red tracksuit accentuated her delicate waist, while short shorts barely concealed her long, shapely legs and pert hips. From Lu Chan’s angle, even a glimpse of her fair, delicate cleavage was visible.
Lu Chan frowned almost imperceptibly.
Her wife looked both alluring and adorable in that outfit, but the thought of others seeing her like this made Lu Chan feel uneasy.
Sensing the intense gaze from above, Mu Jin’s heart pounded in her chest, her hands trembling so violently that she could barely type on the device. She bowed slightly to Lu Chan, head lowered, and hurried out.
Suddenly, her foot slipped, and she lost her balance, falling forward uncontrollably.
“Ah…”
“Careful!”
Mu Jin cried out in alarm, instinctively closing her eyes.
Instead of the expected pain, she found herself caught in a soft, fragrant embrace.
“Are you alright?” Lu Chan asked, her voice still cool despite her concern.
Mu Jin gripped the arm so close to her, cautiously opening her eyes to meet Lu Chan’s breathtakingly cold and aloof face. Her cheeks flushed crimson, and she shook her head slightly.
