Her Little Mute Omega [Rebirth] - Chapter 7
In the quiet space, only the sound of their intertwined breaths seemed to fill the air.
Lu Chan half-embraced the soft, sweet-smelling body in her arms, her slender fingers pressed firmly against the smooth, delicate skin beneath.
A slight tilt of her head would allow her to capture those alluring lips.
A hidden light flickered in Lu Chan’s indifferent eyes, her thick, curled lashes concealing the thoughts swirling within.
She lowered her head, about to speak, when a surprised female voice called out from outside.
“Chanchan, Xiao Jin, are you both alright?” Ye Xian stood at the doorway, her voice filled with concern.
The moment the words left her lips, she regretted them, hastily adding, “I think I forgot to buy water. I’ll go get some right away.”
Before she could finish speaking, she had already vanished.
Hearing the voice, Mu Jin seemed to awaken from a dream. Her bright eyes flickered, and she carefully loosened her grip, attempting to stand.
Sensing her movement, Lu Chan felt a pang of reluctance, but still politely helped Mu Jin to her feet.
“Thank you,” Mu Jin typed, her head bowed, her small face flushed crimson like a perfectly cooked shrimp.
“You’re welcome,” Lu Chan replied, glancing at the changing room before turning to leave.
She had originally planned to change and go home, but now it seemed she might as well stay and work out a little longer.
Mu Jin followed behind, the refreshing scent of lime still lingering in her nostrils.
Her cheeks flushed crimson, she dared not look at the tall figure striding ahead.
As soon as they stepped outside, Mu Jin caught Ye Xian leaning against the wall in her peripheral vision.
Ye Xian held two bottles of water, her expression unusually excited. She waved cheerfully, calling out, “Xiao Jin, come over and have a drink!”
Mu Jin glanced ahead. Lu Chan was already using the resistance bands to work her shoulders.
After a moment’s hesitation, Mu Jin ran over to Ye Xian, accepted the water, and took a small sip.
The cool liquid slid down her throat, slightly easing the heat in her body.
“Xiao Jin, Lu Chan often trains here. Why don’t you ask her for some guidance? That way you can avoid making mistakes,” Ye Xian suggested with a smile, her eyes sparkling with excitement.
At these words, Mu Jin’s cheeks, which had just cooled down, instantly burned hotter. She stole a cautious glance at Lu Chan and shook her head gently.
“Xiao Jin, don’t be shy. Lu Chan may seem a bit cold, but she wouldn’t embarrass you in public,” Ye Xian continued, her tone turning serious.
Her sharp, cold eyes bore a striking resemblance to Lu Chan’s.
Mu Jin followed her gaze and unconsciously tightened her grip on the water bottle.
A beautiful Omega with a slender figure stood beside Lu Chan, speaking with a radiant smile.
The distance was too great for Mu Jin to hear what they were saying.
“Xiao Jin, let’s go over there too,” Ye Xian said, her face darkening with displeasure as she glared at the Omega.
Mu Jin obediently followed, stopping a few steps away.
“Miss, my Chanchan doesn’t like being disturbed when she’s working out,” Ye Xian said with a smile, her seemingly gentle words laced with a clear warning.
The Omega woman paused, then quickly composed herself with a graceful smile. “You must be Lu Chan’s mother,” she said softly. “My father is Duan Lian, the vice president of the Duan Group. My name is Duan Qianrou. It’s a pleasure to meet you, Aunt Ye.”
Ye Xian bristled at the familiar address, but the woman’s impeccable manners left her no room for complaint.
She couldn’t very well make a scene.
“Ah, you’re Duan Lian’s daughter! The last time I saw you, you were just a little thing. It’s amazing how quickly you’ve grown into such a graceful young woman. Let Auntie take a good look at you,” Ye Xian said with a warm smile, taking Duan Qianrou’s hand and subtly guiding her away from Lu Chan.
By the time Duan Qianrou realized what was happening, she was already quite a distance from Lu Chan.
Bound by respect for her elder, she couldn’t object directly and was forced to continue the conversation.
Mu Jin stood beside the gym equipment, head bowed, her hands nervously gripping the electronic device. The words she typed were repeatedly deleted.
Suddenly, darkness fell before her eyes.
Mu Jin took a step back and looked up, her bright eyes showing a hint of confusion.
Lu Chan wiped away the sweat from her workout and stood up. “Which machine do you want to use?” she asked.
Mu Jin startled, her face flushing crimson. She glanced around flustered before pointing to a spot at random.
Lu Chan followed her gaze to a waist-shaping machine, conveniently unoccupied.
Her eyebrows arched slightly, a faint smile flickering in her usually indifferent eyes—like winter snow melting imperceptibly.
“Do you need me to show you how to use the waist-shaping machine?” Lu Chan asked, setting down her towel.
Mu Jin nodded, her eyes lowered, a happy curve tugging at the corners of her lips.
She usually only went for morning runs and wasn’t accustomed to gym workouts, so she had no idea how to operate the machine.
“Do you want to focus on your waist or legs?” Lu Chan asked, remaining patient.
Though her voice remained cool, her uncharacteristic patience left the personal trainer nearby stunned.
Lu Chan was typically reserved and aloof, radiating a “keep away” aura that deterred even the most smitten Omega girls from approaching her.
This was the first time Mu Jin had ever heard Lu Chan speak so much, especially to an ordinary person.
Hearing this, Mu Jin glanced down at her figure and pointed to her waist.
She felt there was a bit of extra flesh there, lacking the taut curves she desired.
“Alright, warm up on the treadmill for ten minutes first,” Lu Chan instructed, gesturing to the machine beside them.
Mu Jin obediently walked over.
Before she could step onto the treadmill, a slender hand reached out and pressed a few buttons.
“This is the lowest setting, the speed is slow and suitable for warming up,” Lu Chan explained, withdrawing her hand and turning her gaze to Mu Jin. “You can start now.”
Mu Jin nodded, stepped onto the treadmill, and began running. Soon, beads of sweat dotted her small face.
Normally, she wouldn’t sweat so easily during her regular workouts.
But with the powerful Alpha’s intense gaze fixed on her, she couldn’t help but feel flustered and nervous.
Lu Chan watched intently, even more focused than when she trained herself.
Noticing the sweat on Mu Jin’s face and her slightly labored breathing, she offered guidance: “Adjust your breathing. Match your body’s rhythm to the treadmill’s pace. Don’t push yourself too hard.”
Mu Jin tried to adjust her movements as instructed, but her foot suddenly slipped, causing her to stumble sideways off the treadmill.
Just as she was about to fall, a hand reached out from beside her and caught her.
Lu Chan’s heart clenched as she pulled Mu Jin firmly into her arms, asking softly, “Are you okay?”
Mu Jin quickly shook her head, her lowered eyes filled with shame and frustration.
Today is so embarrassing, she thought. I’ve fallen twice already. These kinds of accidents never usually happen.
“It’s good you’re not hurt. Rest for a bit and drink some water to recover,” Lu Chan said, guiding Mu Jin to a nearby bench.
Clutching the water bottle, Mu Jin wanted to type out an explanation that she hadn’t done it on purpose, but she worried it would sound too contrived. She lowered her head in frustration.
She opened the bottle and took a small sip, immediately feeling the weight of numerous intense gazes around her.
Glancing discreetly, Mu Jin noticed that most of the Omegas were staring at her, their eyes filled with confusion, but even more so with jealousy and resentment.
Mu Jin understood their feelings all too well.
She was just an undifferentiated ordinary person—worse than ordinary, in fact, since she was mute—yet she had somehow gained the attention of Lu Chan, a top-tier Alpha.
Deep down, she knew that without Ye Xian’s help, Lu Chan probably wouldn’t have given her a second glance.
“Are you rested?” Lu Chan asked, standing beside her.
She had intended to sound caring, but her naturally cool tone made the question sound somewhat cold and stern.
Mu Jin looked up, her face lighting up with a radiant smile. She nodded vigorously and typed, “Can I skip the warm-up? I want to try the waist-shaping machine first.”
Lu Chan’s heart skipped a beat. Maintaining her composure, she nodded and glanced at the waist-shaping machines, noticing several had already become available.
Nearby Omega girls had been watching them closely. When they heard the electronic device on Mu Jin’s chest speak, one of them let out a mocking laugh.
“I thought she was just an ordinary person, but it turns out she’s a mute too!” A loud burst of laughter erupted from the crowd.
Immediately, several other Omega girls joined in, their mocking gazes fixed brazenly on Mu Jin.
Mu Jin had endured countless such scornful looks throughout her life.
She should have been immune by now, yet this time, she felt an overwhelming urge to hide in shame.
“Don’t pay attention to what those Omegas say,” Lu Chan reassured her. “Most of them are just here to attract Alphas’ attention. They’re not worth your concern.”
Her voice wasn’t low, carrying clearly to everyone in the surrounding circle.
If a lower-ranked Alpha had spoken those words, the Omegas would have retorted sharply, mocking them collectively.
But no one dared to contradict Lu Chan.
The desire in their eyes was unmistakable; they looked as if they wanted to pounce on her the moment they saw her.
“Some people just refuse to learn from the good examples,” Ye Xian sneered, her voice ringing with disdain. “They’d rather emulate those shameless types outside, trying to hook up with wealthy Alpha families for a quick rise to the top.”
Her sharp gaze swept across the Omegas, her contempt deepening. “Just ordinary Omegas, really. Even the A+ Omega by my side isn’t as pathetic as you lot.”
The remark not only darkened the faces of the Omega girls but also made it difficult for Duan Qianrou to maintain even a polite smile.
Being an A+ Omega, she found it humiliating to be compared to a group of ordinary Omegas.
Constrained by Ye Xian’s status, Duan Qianrou couldn’t retort and had to maintain a dignified silence. Her meticulously manicured nails nearly dug into her palms as she lowered her gaze, concealing the fury in her eyes.
Ye Xian, seemingly oblivious, rose and approached Mu Jin, smiling warmly. “Xiao Jin, don’t be afraid. With your Sister Chan here, no one can bully you.”
These words were a clear declaration of their relationship to everyone present.
Mu Jin’s face flushed crimson as she glanced uneasily at Lu Chan before quickly lowering her head.
“Let’s go over there and continue training,” Lu Chan said, her icy gaze sweeping across the room, radiating the overwhelming presence of an S-Class Alpha.
A wave of fear washed over the crowd, including Ye Xian.
Mu Jin, however, remained unaffected. Her gloomy mood instantly lifted at Lu Chan’s words.
