- Chapter 35 - It Was The First Time She Had Been Touched Like That, Especially By A Man
Liang Jinmo hadn’t known about this.
His grip on his glass tightened, his voice husky. “How did you do it?”
“Haven’t you learned?” Xu Zhi said. “Mouth-to-mouth. Breathing into your mouth.”
He didn’t speak, imagining the scene.
Xu Zhi continued, “So, technically, you’re the first person whose lips I’ve ever touched.”
“Aren’t we close?” She straightened up. “Liang Mushi is nothing. He’s only ever held my hand. But I won’t even let him do that anymore.”
Liang Jinmo stared at her, his usually cold gaze warming.
Oblivious, Xu Zhi even scooted closer to him. “You can pat my head again anytime.”
A slow smile spread across Liang Jinmo’s lips. He stared at her for a long moment, then put down his glass and leaned towards her.
Xu Zhi froze, looking at his face so close to hers.
She held her breath. But instead of kissing her, he reached past her face and picked up her wine glass from the coffee table. “You shouldn’t drink fruit wine either.”
“Hey,” Xu Zhi reacted. “You stole my drink!”
She reached for the glass. This time, Liang Jinmo, learning from experience, stretched his arm out, placing the glass far away on a cabinet at the other end of the sofa.
He turned back to see Xu Zhi lunging at him.
She landed on top of him, reaching for the glass.
He grabbed her arm, preventing her from reaching it. She looked down, pouting. “I wasn’t finished…”
Her tone was slightly petulant and aggrieved. Liang Jinmo’s breathing deepened, his dark eyes fixed on her.
As she lowered her head, their faces were inches apart, their bodies pressed together.
With each breath, he could feel the soft curves of her body against his chest, even through their clothes.
She was so small, her weight on top of him barely noticeable.
Her wrist in his hand was slender and soft. The sensation was both foreign and incredibly familiar – he had felt it countless times in his dreams, but reality was different.
Every detail was so vivid.
Her hair brushed against his cheek as she leaned down, igniting a fire within him. He just watched her, not pushing her away, making no other move.
The fruit wine was definitely affecting Xu Zhi, but she wasn’t completely drunk.
She was in that slightly tipsy, excitable state, a little unrestrained, but her mind was still clear. As she looked into Liang Jinmo’s eyes, a thought surfaced: His eyes are really beautiful. They don’t seem as cold as usual right now…
Time seemed to slow down. After a long moment, she finally remembered that she was still on top of him.
She shifted slightly, and suddenly, the world spun.
Liang Jinmo wrapped his arm around her waist and stood up.
Her first thought was that she was about to fall. She cried out, instinctively wrapping her arms around his neck, holding on tight.
Liang Jinmo simply shifted his weight, reversing their positions. Now, he was on top of her, pinning her to the sofa.
Xu Zhi’s heart raced. The alcohol had mostly worn off, but her mind hadn’t caught up. Her arms were still tightly wrapped around his neck.
Liang Jinmo couldn’t even sit up. They were so close.
The scent of fruit wine filled the air, their breaths mingling. Before their eyes met, Xu Zhi felt his warm breath on her cheek, her nose, and finally, her lips.
Their gazes locked, time seeming to stand still.
Dark emotions swirled in Liang Jinmo’s eyes. Xu Zhi’s eyes, like a deer’s, were dark and luminous, slightly swollen.
Xu Zhi could hear her own heart pounding, rapid and erratic. She even held her breath, afraid that the slightest movement would bring their lips together.
Then she saw him lower his head.
She froze, momentarily stunned, forgetting to release her hold on him, letting him come closer.
Liang Jinmo’s lips brushed against hers, then moved past, his nose grazing her chin.
The almost-kiss was agonizing, her heart pounding so hard she thought he could hear it.
Then his warm breath was on her neck, a feather-light touch that sent shivers down her spine. She involuntarily tilted her head back.
His hand was on her waist, gently caressing her skin through her shirt, then giving it a light squeeze.
She heard him say, “Are you drunk…”
As if waking from a dream, Xu Zhi released her hold on him, her face flushing crimson.
What am I doing?!
She pushed him away, scrambling to her feet. “I… It’s late… I… I have to go home…”
Liang Jinmo also stood up. “I’ll take you.”
“No!” She grabbed her phone and jacket from the coffee table and hurried towards the door. “I’ll take a taxi.”
He followed her out. In the living room, she grabbed her hat and rushed to the shoe cabinet to change her shoes.
From the corner of her eye, she saw him.
He was standing there, looking at his watch. His white shirt collar was slightly disheveled, but he still looked composed and aloof.
Xu Zhi felt a wave of shame, knowing her face must be bright red. She felt like she was burning up.
Seeing him approach, she quickly said, “Don’t come any closer!”
She hurriedly changed her shoes and opened the door. “Stay away!”
Liang Jinmo: “…”
He watched her, speechless, as she slammed the door shut.
He frowned, opened the door, and stepped out into the corridor. Xu Zhi was gone.
She had run away.
It was still early. She shouldn’t have any trouble finding a taxi.
He closed the door, went back to the sofa, and sat down, slowly rubbing his fingers.
The sensation of her skin against his lingered. Her waist was so slender, so soft…
He leaned back against the sofa, exhaling slowly after a long moment.
Downstairs, the cool air outside the hotel cleared Xu Zhi’s head.
She hailed a taxi, and the driver asked for her destination.
She froze for a few seconds before giving him her home address.
As the car started moving, she raised her hand, pressing it against her burning cheek.
Oh god, what have I done?
The scene in the hotel room replayed in her mind. She could still feel him on top of her, his breath on her lips and neck, his hand on her waist…
She was going crazy.
Her hand unconsciously touched her lips, her heart still racing. She closed her eyes tightly, but she couldn’t shake off the thoughts.
It was the first time she had been touched like that, especially by a man.
But strangely, she didn’t feel repulsed. In fact…
She was startled by the hidden desire within her. For a fleeting moment, she realized she had wanted him to kiss her.
