His Addiction - Chapter 49
The room was quiet, but she could faintly hear the sound of car horns from the street below.
The sound was distant and muffled. Xu Zhi’s eyes widened in shock.
His lips were warm and moist against hers. Finally reacting, she instinctively raised her hand to push him away, but he caught it, holding it against his chest.
He pulled away slightly, his dark eyes locking with hers, his voice husky. “Scared now?”
Xu Zhi couldn’t speak, her face burning. “You… you… how could you…?”
Their foreheads were touching, their noses almost brushing, their breaths mingling. His presence was overwhelming, and she felt like she couldn’t breathe.
His gentle, woody scent had become almost aggressive, like a wild beast about to break free.
Liang Jinmo didn’t answer, his eyes narrowed slightly as he studied her face, as if deep in thought.
After a moment, he said, “Too late.”
Before Xu Zhi could process his words, he leaned in again, his fingers tilting her chin up as his lips claimed hers once more.
She tried to pull away, but he pressed her against the corner of the sofa, leaving her no escape.
She didn’t know why she had forgotten to resist. He finally stopped, looking down at her. “Still tempting me?”
Realization dawned on her. She had been kissed.
Her face burned even brighter, her bravado gone. Like a timid quail, she quickly shook her head.
Liang Jinmo didn’t move away immediately. His hand rested on her waist, his fingers gently lifting the hem of her shirt.
Xu Zhi shivered, then felt a ticklish sensation as his fingers traced circles on her skin. His voice, lower than usual, sent shivers down her spine. “Next time you tempt me, it won’t just be this.”
What more do you want to do? Xu Zhi looked at him, her eyes wide with alarm.
Liang Jinmo, seemingly in a good mood, pulled away, a faint smile playing on his lips.
Xu Zhi sat up, still flustered.
Her shirt was disheveled. She quickly adjusted it, glancing at him from the corner of her eye.
He was drinking his beer, as if nothing had happened.
Her heart was still racing. She didn’t dare to look at him. Strangely, she didn’t feel angry.
She was just nervous, incredibly nervous.
She was so embarrassed she could barely look at him.
This isn’t right, she thought. People usually kiss after they start dating. Why did he suddenly kiss her? She remembered her father’s words.
Men like proactive women. So, had she been too proactive, too tempting, that even someone as reserved as him couldn’t resist?
…The thought was a little narcissistic.
She huddled in the corner of the sofa, her mind racing, then covered her face with her hands, mumbling, “Why… why did you suddenly kiss me?”
Liang Jinmo looked at her, seeing her hiding her face, too embarrassed to look at him. He didn’t answer her question, simply saying firmly, “Ask again, and I’ll do it again.”
Xu Zhi: “…”
She gave up, too intimidated to ask again.
The kiss had erased all other thoughts from her mind, leaving only one: him.
Liang Jinmo finished his beer and brought over the food he had ordered for her.
It was still warm. He placed it on the round table. “Eat.”
Xu Zhi, slightly afraid of him now, obediently started eating.
She needed something to do, to distract herself from the kiss.
But… it didn’t work.
Even as she ate, her mind kept replaying the kiss.
The feeling of his body pressing against hers, his warmth…
It was driving her crazy. She felt like she was burning up.
After finishing her meal, she cleared the table, picking up the beer can she had dropped.
But the spilled beer had stained the carpet, the scent lingering, a constant reminder of what had just happened.
She retreated to the farthest corner of the room, as far away from him as possible.
Liang Jinmo didn’t seem to mind. He was texting someone on his phone. After finishing, he stood up and walked towards the door.
Xu Zhi was standing by the door. Seeing him approach, she panicked. “Don’t… don’t come any closer! Or I’ll… I’ll…”
Before she could finish her threat, he was standing in front of her.
“Hotel or cabin?”
His voice was calm, making her feel even more flustered. She was the only one panicking.
She didn’t dare to be alone with him again. “I’ll just stay here with Yang Xue… There are two beds.”
Liang Jinmo opened the door, giving her one last look before leaving. “Don’t play coy. You’re right. I’ve wanted to kiss you since this afternoon. But…”
He paused, his words heavy with meaning. “You gave me the opportunity.”
He stepped out and closed the door.
Xu Zhi stood there, frozen, then wanted to run after him and hit him.
She threw herself onto the bed, burying her face in the pillow, almost suffocating herself before lifting her head to breathe.
It’s over… My mind is filled with that kiss.
How could he be so calm? Did he kiss girls often? She felt a pang of resentment. That had been her first kiss, and it had happened so unexpectedly.
And she had always imagined her first kiss to be light and fleeting. Liang Jinmo’s kiss had been intense, passionate. He seemed so cold and aloof, but when he kissed her, he was a different person.
Outside the door, Liang Jinmo stopped at the end of the corridor.
He had… gone the wrong way.
He should have gone to the elevators. His room was upstairs.
But it didn’t matter. He took a deep breath and lit a cigarette.
Xu Zhi had completely disrupted his rhythm. But…
He brought the cigarette to his lips, then paused, unconsciously licking his lips, thinking, It was worth it.
