They were together for five years, but Pei Yanli never once told him, “I like you.”
So Luo Yunqing always kept himself in the role of just a lover.
Until the day Pei Yanli fell to his death.
Only then did Luo Yunqing discover the two gold rings that Pei Yanli had held tightly until his last breath, and a will written long ago—transferring all of his assets to his beloved, Luo Yunqing.
That was when he realized—
Damn. This man had loved him to death.
And he?
He’d damn well loved Pei Yanli just as much.
So after taking revenge, Luo Yunqing jumped into the sea, holding onto his lover’s ashes—without a shred of hesitation.
What he didn’t expect was to open his eyes again…
Back in the summer of his eighteenth year, right after the college entrance exams.
Back to the moment his rich biological parents had just found him.
This time, when his “older brother” came to persuade him to return home—under the pretense of marrying off the fake young master—Luo Yunqing slowly smiled and nodded:
“Hubby, I’m coming for you!”
Pei Yanli had a leg injury from a car accident. The condition kept recurring, and he didn’t want to burden his arranged-marriage partner.
On their wedding night, he wheeled himself back to his room with a pre-written divorce agreement in hand.
But what he saw was a young man kneeling on the bed, bare, pale, slender legs folded beneath him, a silk shirt slipping loosely off his shoulders. He blinked innocently like a cat and sweetly called out:
“Hubby~”
Pei Yanli’s hand on the wheelchair armrest tightened abruptly.
Divorcing right after getting married… that didn’t sound right.
Maybe… he could wait a bit.
With that thought, he quietly put away the divorce papers without saying a word.
After marriage, the most noticeable thing was—
His partner was way too clingy.
If he wasn’t asking for cuddles, he wanted to snuggle.
Whenever there was thunder, he’d tremble and burrow into Pei Yanli’s arms like a frightened kitten—it was downright pitiful.
Time and again, Pei Yanli lowered his guard and let him get closer.
Until one stormy night—
Worried about the boy being home alone, he rushed back without even finishing his meeting.
Passing by an alley, he thought he saw his thunder-fearing, pitiful little wife—
Swinging a metal baseball bat, and smashing it over the fake young master’s childhood friend’s head.
Bl00d splattered across his cheek, his expression cold and terrifying—like a demon crawling out of hell.
Then their eyes met.
Lightning flashed. Thunder roared.
The bat clattered to the ground.
Luo Yunqing frantically wiped the bl00d off his face and looked up through the pouring rain, pitiful and teary-eyed:
“H-Hubby… it’s thundering… I’m scared~”
Thunder cracked across the sky.
Yet the air was thick with an eerie stillness.
Just before Luo Yunqing’s heart completely sank, the car door opened.
Pei Yanli stepped out calmly, opened an umbrella, took his hand, and led him back to the car.
He gently wiped the bl00d-streaked rain from his face, and before the next boom of thunder, covered his ears—
And told him: “Don’t be afraid. I’m here.”
Mini Theater:

Pei Yanli: “Love you too. The bunny outfit got ripped yesterday… how about wearing the one with cat ears tonight?”
Luo Yunqing: “…I don’t love you anymore.” My poor waist!
