How does it feel to step into a B-grade horror game? - 10
Episode 10.
[Don’t do it!]
As the picture of the woman in the frame came out of the painting in a frenzied manner, the others spilled out at once, rushing at Fidelis and Hakan. Surprised, Fidelis let out a louder scream than when he encountered the monster that was gnawing at his skin.
“Aaa
The ghosts that came out of the frame fell to the floor all at once, without any harm to them. Sajafu has been activated.
“Huh, huh.”
Fidelis, still trembling and clutching Hakan tightly, gasped heavily as he looked at the ghosts strewn across the floor. Deaf, Hakan blinked a couple of times. Then, when he came to his senses, he suddenly burst out laughing out loud at once. A cheerful laugh that shone through the dark atmosphere pounded pleasantly in Fidelis’ ears.
“Really… You can’t help but fall in love with this.”
Fidelis tilted her head at Hakan muttering softly, and he straightened her hair.
“You’ve protected me, Reese.”
Suddenly, he used a nickname and smiled sweetly.
“Thank you.”
“No, I don’t… It’s just a coincidence.”
“Still.”
Fidelis lifted the corners of her mouth at the compliment. No one had ever praised me in that way. He took what he was doing for granted, and when he didn’t do well, he would rush in and hurt him with harsh words.
He was teased for being an expressionless monster even when he sat still, and he also made fun of his exotic appearance and hurled insults at his appearance. Even though they hadn’t met for a long time, Hakan was dazzled by how he cared for him, felt sorry for his injuries, and thanked him for protecting him.
For the first time, it occurred to me that the sudden drop from the nursery school was not a bad thing. There was warmth in Fidelis’ eyes as he turned toward Hakan. Smiling at each other, Hakan hugged her and cracked the last ornament to make sure there was no note to follow. Hakan turned his back without hesitation.
“Where are we going to go?”
There were three paths in the center of the hall.
“The mansion is really big….”
Fidelis pondered, admiring it anew.
“It was the residence of an aristocrat with wealth and power almost as much as the imperial family.”
“And yet you are so easily ruined?”
I wondered if it was possible to do this with the power of a single demon.
“The devil is almost like a god. Humans can’t stand against it.”
He explained Fidelis well to what he was asking. Fidelis, who had been listening intently, raised his finger and pointed to his left.
“But what if it’s the way you went?”
“Then don’t worry too much about coming back and taking a different route.”
Fidelis stared blankly at him as he hugged him and walked briskly in the direction he had pointed.
“The first person to be nice to me was a psycho to a character in the game.”
Honestly, it was disappointing. The thought that once the curse was lifted, Izawa would never be able to see her again, made her feel uncomfortable. What if he’s treating me so well in the game? Honestly, I didn’t even want to think about it. I didn’t want to believe that everything that was nice to me was a lie.
‘It’s because I’ve never been affectionate. The first affection I received was so sweet…’
I thought I had given up on love, but I guess it wasn’t. I couldn’t help but fall in love with his kindness in such a short period of time. Realizing that Fidelis was lost in thought, Hakan opened the door silently, so as not to disturb him.
“Water?”
“Water?”
Fidelis asked, and Hakan nodded and gestured his chin to the water on one side of the room.
“It’s water.”
Fidelis swallowed involuntarily. Hakan had been medicated in the best condition before he came in, so he didn’t want to eat too much when he saw water. But Fidelis was different. I had an empty stomach before taking the medication and my throat was sore from screaming. In a word, I was hungry for water.
“Hey, can I eat it?”
“Let’s take a look.”
He picked up the water and looked around. Seemingly unable to find a singularity, Hakan channeled his magic to examine the water, but he couldn’t find a problem.
“I think clean water is right.”
Turning the water over to Fidelis, she received it.
“Obtained the item ‘Clean Water’. 」
Fidelis’ face lit up at the sound of the electronic sound. Without hesitation, she lifted the lid and gulped down the water.
“Mon! Month! (Wow! cool!)”
“… What?”
“……?”
Hakan blinked in surprise at the sudden sound of, and Fidelis’ pupils fluttered in embarrassment. And then a familiar voice.
“Unfortunately, there were side effects on the water. For the next hour, you’ll be forced to speak ”. 」
Insane. Fidelis’ jaw dropped. Just as he frowned at why he had these side effects, Fidelis remembered what Hakan had said.
“There are a lot of mischievous demons.”
“Reese?”
“…….”
Instead of answering his call, she kept her mouth shut and looked up at him.
“What’s wrong?”
“Squeaking. (Huh.)”
He was about to let out a sigh, but when the came out, Fidelis freaked out and covered his mouth.
“… Are you bored?”
Hakan asked cautiously, a subtle stranger, and Fidelis shook his head vigorously. I didn’t know how to explain it. She pointed to the water and her throat and made a muffled sound.
“……?”
Hakan tilted his head, Fidelis shouted in frustration.
“Mon! (XX!)”
The shape of his mouth was clearly swearing, but the sound that came out was. Hakan motioned his chin to keep trying, and she bit her lip and began to explain eagerly.
“Month, month! Month month month.”
“…….”
Hakan, who had been listening intently, involuntarily slapped his bruises for a moment before opening his mouth to clear up her words.
“Oh, I’m sorry.”
In the end, Hakan couldn’t hold back his laughter and let out a small laugh, pursing the corners of his mouth to calm down. I could see the corners of his mouth rising up. He cleared his throat and spoke again, trying to sort things out.
“Ahem. In a word, there was a side effect to the water, huh. Are you right?”
Fidelis paused and nodded in response. Hakan bowed his face in response, shivering and holding back his laughter. Even Fidelis in Hakan’s arms trembled, and she could feel her trying to hold back her laughter.
“Moon Moon ……. (rather laugh coolly.)”
“What? Ugh, haha!”
He couldn’t stand it, and finally burst into tears, grabbed his stomach, and started laughing. Fidelis was so dumbfounded that he almost laughed, but Hakan didn’t bother to stop him from laughing. Hakan laughed for a long time, but when he stopped laughing, Fidelis sighed.
“Kihing….”
Instead of a sigh, the sound made Hakan squirm again.
“I never thought there would be any side effects to the water.”
Me too.
Fidelis nodded in agreement.
“You said it lasts an hour, right?”
Nod. I was also impressed that Hakan understood everything I said.
“It’s pretty cute. But why a month and not a bruise?”
“…….”
Hakan, who seemed to keep trying to elicit an answer, squinted his eyes and glared at him.
“I just wanted to hear it again because it was cute. It’s sad to look at it too much.”
He shrugged his shoulders, not sad at all. Fidelis held back a sigh as he pressed his chin against his shoulder. I don’t know why, but Fidelis wasn’t feeling bad right now. When I saw the corners of my mouth curl up without realizing it, I felt good that I had made the other person feel good for the first time, even though the current situation was ridiculous.
Fidelis said that he seemed to be the one who made people feel comfortable, and concluded that the word psychopath was a system error.
“Oh, would you like another pill?”
“……?”
“Remember when I said it’s good medicine when you’re in the best of shape? I had some side effects, but now that I’ve cleared my throat, I’m taking my medication and keeping my thirst alive.”
Fidelis was wondering if there were any side effects, and Hakan spoke up.
“It’s okay to have two. I’m a pretty good mage.”
Still, reluctantly, Fidelis opened and closed his mouth. Hakan gently lifted the corners of his mouth.
“Are you trying to medicate me to keep that sound going?”
A suspicious glance fell on Hakan, and he rubbed his forehead cutely against Fidelis’ shoulder.
“I don’t. Even if I wanted to, the medicine wouldn’t make it last.”
Tilting his forehead and grinning, Hakan pulled a pill from his pocket and held it to the corner of Fidelis’ mouth.
“Oh, do it.”
Unknowingly, he opened his mouth as he said, and a pill slid in. Fidelis swallowed, and Hakan patted his head in praise.
“Well done.”
‘… I feel like a kid.’
But strangely it wasn’t bad. Maybe it’s because I’ve never received affection from an orphanage. Hakan complimented me on such trivial things and treated me kindly, which made me feel good, and I didn’t want to stop him. I left the room where there was nothing but water and walked down the hallway.
Hakan opened another door to reveal a space with no furniture and only a piano. Fidelis didn’t have to be able to tell that the piano would suddenly play on its own and make a dreary piano sound.
“It’s a B-grade game, but it just keeps looking like you’ve seen it somewhere.”
But that wasn’t to say it wasn’t scary. Fidelis carefully raised her hand to cover her ears. Hakan approached the piano and pressed one of the white keys, but no sound came out. The lid of the piano began to squeak and squeak and slammed shut unexpectedly.
Hakan deftly dodged it and kicked the piano stool to smash it as if nothing had happened. As Fidelis had foreseen, the piano began to eerily reverberate in the quiet room.
She squeezed her eyes shut and covered her ears. Hakan glanced at Fidelis and raised his hand into a fist, leaving the remains of a shattered piano lying on the floor. At the same time, the sound of the piano stopped. Hakan tapped Fidelis’ nose, still trembling as he closed his eyes and covered his ears. Fidelis squinted to see pieces of the piano that had been mercilessly smashed.
“… Bruises?”
“Is there a bruise this time?”
“…….”
It was a mistake to open my mouth. Fidelis pointed to the piano with his hand and asked with a look in his eyes what was going on.
“It broke all of a sudden.”
“……?”
“That makes me less afraid of the piano.”
He touched her ear and whispered sweetly. Everything that had happened so far had been ridiculous, and Fidelis believed the gentle Hakan without a doubt. There was also a reason why he didn’t know how powerful Hakan was. Hakan was rummaging through the piano wreckage with his feet when he spotted a note and listened to it.
