How does it feel to step into a B-grade horror game? - 11
Episode 11.
[The only thing that can touch a person is a scythe.]
“Scythe?”
Hakan naturally unfolded the note to Fidelis as well.
“If you had any more hints, I would’ve given you, but the one I found earlier was the first one I’ve ever seen.”
Fidelis shook his head in remorse. The corners of Hakan’s mouth rose as if he were telling him not to be sorry for that. Fidelis read the hint and began to roll his brain. The hints I got after clearing the event were different from the usual hints.
[It’s a scythe that can open it.]
And it was written on two notes that Hakan found…….
[There is a person, the moment he screams in pain…….]
[The only thing that can touch a person is a scythe.]
The key here was the word cut off from the ‘one person’ and the second note. He said that he had acquired a scythe and had it—though I don’t know if this was the scythe mentioned in the note—but it was the scythe that could open it. And it’s good to be able to touch one person.
‘Could it mean ‘it’ when one person says it in the first note? Then one of them could be the ‘door’ to get out of here.’
It was too early to tell, but it was a possibility. If it was really a door, it made sense to say that if you cut him with a scythe, you would scream in pain.
‘I think I’m glad I played the event game.’
It was a short hint, but there was a lot to infer from the scythe. It felt like the hazy vision was finally filled with hope. If her hypothesis was correct, she was sure that the hint on the back of the second note would surely be the definitive hint on how to break the curse.
If so, you wouldn’t have left such a crucial hint anywhere, and you might have to play an event game to get a powerful hint. Even if it wasn’t a continuation of the hint from earlier, it was a hint from an event game that would be as decisive as a scythe.
‘Whatever it is, we need to find an event game!’
As everything was put together and everything fell into place, Fidelis’ face instantly lit up. Hakan held her still and stared at her so as not to distract from his thoughts, then lifted the corners of his mouth to Fidelis, who was getting brighter and brighter.
‘You’ve found something.’
* * *
As far as the analogy goes, it was good. Soon, however, Fidelis became gloomy. The event game itself was smashed, so I didn’t know where to find it. He couldn’t say to Hakan, ‘I need to find an event game.’ I didn’t know where or how it was triggered, but I couldn’t figure it out.
The sullen face was so cute that Hakan had to keep the corners of his mouth from smiling.
‘I think I’m hiding something, but I don’t know that.’
He glanced at Fidelis and let out a small breath.
‘Well, it doesn’t matter.’
No matter what I hide, I don’t think it will change the feelings I have right now.
Hakan, who had been constantly told since childhood that he was an emotionless scumbag, that he didn’t see people like people, and that he wouldn’t get a drop of blood even if he died, was now feeling positive emotions for Fidelis for the first time in his life.
Hakan wasn’t particularly bad at that. As he snuggled into Hakan’s smiling arms, seriously thinking about where to find the event game, a voice suddenly sounded and Fidelis shuddered.
“Hakan Declan begins to see people as people at the same time as he feels emotions. ‘Psychopath’ has been removed from the feature. 」
… Is psychopathy a function that can be erased?
The game system itself seemed to be playing with me. If psychopathic tendencies were so easy to disappear, there wouldn’t be any psychopathic criminals in the world.
It was a series of ridiculous things, so I thought there would be nothing to surprise except ghosts, but every time I did that, they would give me something more, and I couldn’t help but laugh because I didn’t know which one to follow. Isn’t he already a psychopath, who treats people as human beings?
Hakan, who should have used me from the beginning if he was a psychopath, has always been kind to me.
‘He didn’t even show any signs of using me.’
“Bruising, bruising.”
It was a big deal that the laughter came out as.
‘Any help? Isn’t it like F1?’
In a difficult situation, Fidelis was in desperate need of help. Now he could only speak, and after an hour, Fidelis would say what he could.
Stats, favorability, help, etc. Hakan was sure to look at him strangely, but it was enough to say that he had just opened his mouth and said whatever he wanted.
I should have said it long ago, but I didn’t dare to say it in such a frightening and desperate situation. Fidelis couldn’t wait for this short, long hour to pass. Still, thanks to the machine’s voice, the tingling in the corner of my heart seemed to have been washed away.
I tried to defend myself by assuming it was a mistake so that I wouldn’t be conscious of the fact that he was a psychopath, but now I felt safe to trust him. Unless this is the way the game scenario goes.
Still, the word psychopathy that haunts him the most is gone, so Fidelis decided not to think about the word scenario as much as possible. After relaxing slightly, she scrambled into his arms and stared blankly down the hallway, unable to cope with the ghost that suddenly jumped out of her hand.
“Wow!”
It must have been about an hour already, but the that was still coming out made Fidelis’ brow narrow.
“… Ugh.”
Hakan covered his face with his big hand and squealed at Fidelis, who made a short instead of a short scream. Only the ghost’s head still slumped to the ground, rolling around in a grim manner.
The ghost’s eyes lit up, and the corners of his mouth were wide open. The spiky tooth was intimidating. With its mouth open, the ghost didn’t know how to move, and it rushed towards Hakan’s leg. Surprised Fidelis slapped him on the shoulder, but he bowed his face and laughed.
“Wow! (Watch your footing!)”
“Kieeee
The ghost’s gaping teeth threatened to crush Hakan’s ankle when he lifted his foot and stomped on the ghost’s head with force. Whoops! Fidelis squeezed her eyes shut at the vivid sight of a hard skull crushed like tofu.
“Intrusive.”
His eyes were awfully cold, and he looked down at the ghost as it slowly crumbled into black ashes. Fidelis hunched over his shoulders at the eerily eerie low voice. It was then that Hakan lifted his face and looked at Fidelis.
It was pretty cute to squirm with her eyes closed, but I was sorry that I had scarred her without realizing it. Brushing off the feet that had already turned to ashes and the ghost that had vanished, Hakan called to her affectionately.
“Reese.”
“…….”
“I’m sorry. Are you surprised?”
“Well, it’s just that I don’t see anything disgusting…….”
Finally, the time of the side effects was over, and her words were back to normal. But Fidelis couldn’t afford to worry about that now. Her lips quivered at the sight of his cruelty, which she had felt for the first time since she had met him.
Hakan clicked his tongue inwardly. The problem was that I was unknowingly relaxed and behaved as usual. I didn’t mean to scare you at all, but I’m sorry that I did it unintentionally.
“If you don’t kill them, they will come and threaten you. If it was uncomfortable to look at, I wouldn’t kill you now.”
He brushed her cheek lightly with his fingertips.
“So open your eyes and look at me.”
Fidelis’ eyes widened slightly at the desperate plea. The ghost was already gone. Fidelis rolled her eyes slightly to look at him, and Hakan, who had been staring at her all along, met her eyes squarely. His eyes folded slightly. It wasn’t the smile of someone who had just brutally smashed his head.
“I’m sorry to scare you so much.”
“Oh, no. But here’s the ghost…”
“When they die, they turn to ashes.”
Fidelis tilted his head in wonder. Speaking of which, when he kicked the skull, he turned into black ash and vanished. But the ghosts he encountered with Russell did not disappear.
“What if it doesn’t go away?”
“It’s still there.”
At his words, the blood disappeared from Fidelis’ face, and the fluff stood on his body.
‘Does that mean I might meet the monsters I thought I had killed?’
You might encounter a man-eater and a saw-wielding killer. It was hard to say for sure that the killer with the saw had fallen down the stairs and died. Fidelis involuntarily tightened his grip on Hakan’s collar.
“Reese, I’m sorry.”
Hakan, thinking he was frightened by him, apologized again, and Fidelis loosened his grip and waved it.
“No, it gives me goosebumps to think that I might meet all the ghosts I’ve met ……. years.”
It didn’t matter if he killed the ghost or not. They wanted to hurt me, and the only way to avoid killing them was to attack them in return. Hakan had brutally killed him, but the sight was disgusting and frightening, and there was nothing disappointed or anything like that.
He didn’t know what she meant, but he knew it wasn’t because of me, so he breathed a sigh of relief. Relieved, Hakan gently patted her still trembling back.
“It’s okay. I’m here.”
Hakan, who smiled brightly, and He, who had no hesitation when he killed the ghost earlier, were no match for him, but Fidelis didn’t care. It was even more amazing to be able to maintain a normal mindset here.
It was a place where if you didn’t kill first, you would die. The scene was frankly creepy and scary, but that didn’t change Hakan’s image. In the long hallway, only the sound of Hakan’s rattling footsteps could be heard clearly.
“Come to think of it, you don’t talk anymore, do you?”
“Oh!”
Naturally, the subject shifted, and Fidelis’ face lit up as he had just noticed.
“Stetchang.”
She tilted her head and glanced at Hakan as she looked at me curiously, then opened her lips again.
“F1! Help! Favorability!”
“… What are you doing?”
After a moment’s hesitation, Fidelis finally asked her, and Fidelis smiled awkwardly, pretending to be nonchalant.
“I thought I’d loosen my mouth.”
Hakan stared down at him and then smiled. By the way, the fact that something didn’t pop up even though I spit out a stat or a help could be interpreted as saying that there was nothing. Fidelis was a little disappointed in what he hoped might help.
