How does it feel to step into a B-grade horror game? - 19
Episode 19.
“Mi, you won’t believe it. But…….”
Another tear dripped down my face.
Isota’s knuckles turned white as she gripped the hem of her dress. Isota’s lips pursed and she burst into tears.
“I’m sorry… I’m sorry my sister is so late…….”
The makeup I was trying to look pretty was smeared. The dress she had cleaned up had long since been crumpled by her hands.
Fidelis didn’t say anything, he just didn’t know how to take the situation. Seeing Isota’s desperate and sad appearance, it wasn’t a lie. Now he understood why he had been moved here. It was Isota who had summoned me here.
And the demon seemed to say that he didn’t call it directly because of Isota.
‘Did you kidnap me in front of Isota just by creating a situation?’
The name Fidelis Swald in the game description was a reference to his real name. After a pause, Fidelis walked to a stop in Isota’s vicinity.
Hakan stared at her bare feet and frowned slightly, as if he didn’t like them. A new scratch was visible.
“Am I sure?”
No matter how uncommon the gray-haired red eye was, there was no way they could have been unique to Fidelis in this wide world. I’m sure there could have been other white-haired red eyes besides me.
“Fidelis. I’m your sister.”
Wiping away tears, she smiled and patted Fidelis affectionately on the head.
“I don’t think my sister recognizes my brother.”
Fidelis felt a tightness in his chest and a sore eye in the corners of his eyes.
“Family….”
A suppressed voice came to Fidelis.
“… I had a family, too.”
Isota hugged her.
“You’re my brother, and this time I’ll be there to protect you.”
At the same time, a voice came from Fidelis’ head.
‘You’re my brother, so I’ll protect you.’
With a blurry afterimage.
It was the same as Isota’s, but her very young face became clearer. Even the gentle hand that made the wreath and placed it on my head. Fidelis’ eyes widened and he muttered softly.
“… Pink wreath?”
Moving away from her, Isota stared at Fidelis with fluttering pupils.
“Remember? That wreath! I made it for you!”
She smiled slightly as Isota said with a happy look on her face.
“Yes, a wreath of blooming pink flowers.”
“That’s right!”
Instead of crying, Isota, who likes to jump from his place, began to smile brightly and chatter.
Hakan watched it calmly, then looked down at the rustling sound. Edu and Essie looked up at him.
[Re… Times.]
[I’m impressed!]
“…….”
Hakan wanted something.
* * *
Sasasak, Sasasak.
“… Why are you following me?”
“Oh, they’re my friends.”
Hakan muttered low at the sound of annoyance, and Fidelis, who was naturally in his arms as before, said softly: When Hakan pretended to feel sorry for Dino, saying Dino had torn his shoes, Fidelis comforted him by patting him on the head.
At the same time, there was Isota, who looked him up and down like someone who couldn’t see him.
“Then I can’t.”
Isota, who had been fiddling with one of Fidelis’ hands, threw a punch in the face of the ghost that suddenly jumped out of the wall, smirking.
“Reese, have you seen Reese?”
Fidelis laughed awkwardly as he watched Isota kill him without a moment of surprise. He knew they were family, but Fidelis didn’t have a good affinity for them as soon as they were friendly.
“Yes, that’s great.”
“I’m so strong. Just trust me.”
With a screeching sound, Isota pounded his chest. Hakan looked at her and hugged Fidelis tighter. I felt like I was going to be taken away.
With the addition of his stalwart Hakan, his own blood relatives Isota, and his pet ghosts Edu and Essie, Fidelis was in a state of turmoil.
I didn’t hate it. No one came first, and when they did, they hated it, and they were even hated by the devil. He was being sacrificed by the devil just because he looked the same as Sarha, and he was even abandoned by his father.
It wasn’t that I didn’t make any sense. But Fidelis wasn’t going to sit back and let it happen. Nothing, nothing, he did nothing wrong. It was the first time I had tasted happiness. For the first time, I was receiving unrequited love.
Isota’s side was really my home, and I was a man of this place. He was not about to let his barely reclaimed life fall into the hands of the devil and become a scapegoat for her resemblance, and accept her wrath in silence.
‘Of course, I’m still too scared.’
Still, now that I’m surrounded by Isota, Hakan, and my pet ghost, I’m so noisy that I thought it wasn’t so bad that I was here, and that I was lucky. No matter how much I stared into the dark, scary hallway, I didn’t feel like I was going to cry like I did the first time.
“Huh?”
“Reese?”
He tilted his head and squinted slightly, looking at the end of the hallway, where the bright green was swaying.
“Is that a person?”
“No, I think it’s a ghost.”
“Shall we go over there?”
It was clear to Fidelis that they were people, but they spoke casually and tried to turn away without hesitation. That was then.
“Help me!”
“It’s a person…….”
“Hah.”
They both let out a sigh of annoyance at the same time. The figure of the man squawking and approaching quickly grew closer. With bright green hair and green eyes, he was a handsome man with a calm appearance, but with tears in his eyes, he was being chased by a killer in a bear mask.
As soon as he saw the killer, Fidelis involuntarily tightened his arm around Hakan’s neck. Hakan’s mouth gently rolled up in a gentle arc as he felt a tickle that he hadn’t felt in a long time.
“Isota-sama!”
The man who spotted Fidelis and his group lit up and was hugged by Isota in an instant.
“What? Why don’t you go away?”
“Help me! Please don’t throw it away!”
Seeing the man clinging desperately, Hakan picked up Fidelis and slipped back.
As the saw-wielding killer quickly moved closer, Fidelis’ arm grew stronger at the same time. It was okay to be together, but it wasn’t scary. Isota, who tried to keep the man away without hiding her annoyance, approached the killer in the man’s arms, as Fidelis looked at him with a pat on the shoulder. Then, he magically made a long spear and plunged it into the killer’s belly.
The killer stopped and staggered to the ground, his mask peeling off. Inside, a white note emerged with a scarred face. Pulling the man still clutching Isota’s neck tightly, she picked up the note and handed it to Fidelis.
“Did I do well?”
It felt like I could see an invisible tail. The answer came from a man attached to Isota, not Fidelis.
“Yes! Isota-sama is the best!”
“I didn’t ask you.”
Isota gritted his teeth and said cruelly, and the man’s shoulders slumped. Fidelis looked at Isota, who was trying to pull the man away from the green, and then turned his attention to the fallen killer. Fidelis breathed a sigh of relief as he watched the killer disappear into ashes.
In the end, the man in the green eye, who had been hit by Isota, smiled cheerfully and made eye contact with Fidelis.
“Hello! This is Isota’s follower, Zion.”
Fidelis didn’t know how to react to Zion’s bold introduction, so she responded with a slight applause.
“Wow…….”
Gently gripping her bandaged hand, Hakan restrained her movements.
“My hand hasn’t healed yet. It hurts to clap.”
Hakan’s lips touched Fidelis’ fingers and touched hers. A soft touch felt on Fidelis’ fingers. Fidelis flinched in surprise, and he looked at her with his lips glued together instead of parting, his eyes curled affectionately.
It was Shion, who was staring blankly, and Isota, who raised his eyebrows in disapproval. Shion watched silently, then tilted his head.
“Who’s that sweet guy anyway?”
At Shion’s innocent question, Isota chuckled softly. Hakan gently set Fidelis’ hand back in place. A fierce gaze fell on Shion, but he only tilted his head in innocence.
“Hakan?”
Fidelis raised his finger to Hakan and he pressed his fingertips back to his lips. A muffled sound made Fidelis’ ears redden. Shion waved his hand and laughed.
“Haha. I think it’s the same name. They have the same name, and their faces are so much the same. But the Hakan I know is a fearsome man who doesn’t know how to put on such a friendly face, so it’s probably someone else. Are you twins?”
Absolutely not Hakan, Shion smiled relaxedly. Isota bent down and began to grunt and hold back his laughter. When Zion earnestly denied it, Fidelis tilted her head and asked him:
“Hakan twins?”
The fierce gaze that had been directed at Zion quickly turned to docile and turned to Fidelis.
“I don’t think so. I think the author is mistaken.”
“He’s Hakan.”
Isota wiped the tears from the corners of her eyes to see if she had laughed and straightened Fidelis’ hair. Shion’s mouth opened wide in amazement.
“That’s ridiculous! You can’t be smiling so sweetly!”
“What have you been looking at me all this time?”
He frowned, and Shion shouted.
“Don’t be so affectionate!”
“…….”
Even though he didn’t ask very kindly, Shion was trembling and scared. Isota then slapped his thigh and began to laugh. Fidelis was the only one who couldn’t keep up with the situation, and he had a lot of question marks over his head.
Hakan glanced at Fidelis and secretly gnashed his teeth. That’s why I didn’t want to run into him.
He gently smoothed Fidelis’ cheek before handing it to Isota. Isota grabbed Fidelis with ease and squirmed.
“What? Can I carry it?”
“Nope. Let’s talk to him for a minute.”
“Huh? Two? I don’t like that…….”
Whether he likes it or not, Hakan grabbed Shion’s back by the scruff and pulled away from Fidelis and Isota. Something was being said, but I couldn’t hear it.
Fidelis, who had been in Isota’s arms, hesitated to look at her squirming. I laughed along without realizing it, and Isota frowned, as if he was impressed.
“Can I get you off…….”
“I hate it, I hate it! What if I hurt my foot again!”
“It doesn’t hurt much.”
“…….”
For some reason, Isota’s face contorted painfully. Thinking he had made a mistake, he swayed and awkwardly patted Fidelis on the shoulder.
