How does it feel to step into a B-grade horror game? - 22
“Look at this, Reese. Flowers made of fire!”
Fidelis leaned into Hakan’s arms, grinning in amuse at Isota, who was playing with him with his magic, and kept an eye on his back.
There was no law that ghosts were supposed to come out only in front of him, so he stared intently behind him, just in case. Isota was walking by looking at Fidelis as if she was going to die of cuteness.
As he trudged along, Hakan stopped in front of the tightly closed door, grabbed the handle and opened it. At the same time, there was a loud sound as if something was breaking on the floor.
Wow!
Fidelis, who had been watching behind him, turned his head in surprise to see the back of a young child huffing and huffing.
“… Child?”
The child, dressed neatly in black, spun around in response to Fidelis’ voice. I could see eyes full of red masturbation and sharp teeth that no human could have.
His face was covered in blood that he didn’t know who it belonged to. Fidelis almost screamed at the sight of the ghosts, which he couldn’t get used to. The ghostly looking ghost looked at Fidelis and laughed, tearing his mouth grotesquely.
[Human, human!]
Then he jumped up and down and loved it. At the same time, Fidelis’ spine ran cold. It was a voice I’d heard before. It reminded me of the ghost of a child who had been searching for a human in a very low voice.
It was the ghost that hid behind a pillar and heard only its voice. He couldn’t find himself because of the sharp plosive, and he was sure that the ghost had disappeared as he ran away. Even in the midst of that fear, the voice of a child that I can never forget.
Fidelis involuntarily clenched his fists as the horror of that moment came back to haunt him. Hakan’s eyes turned to the ghost who was squeaking loudly in front of him.
The ghost, who had been briskly leaping up and down his hand, suddenly stopped and began pointing his finger at each of Fidelis’ companions.
[One, two, three, four!
The ghost covered his mouth and laughed, and then his face spun unideally.
Diggggggg!
They were silenced by the strange sound that seemed to force them to turn. No, only Shion and Fidelis were shivering with fear, while Hakan and Isota were staring down at the ghost with sterile eyes.
Essie and Edu, who were underneath, stepped forward and stood at Hakan’s feet. Then he was still spinning around, shouting at his favorite ghost.
[Oooh, why are we ignoring nothing?]
[P… Delis Gun… If you listen… Mann Dun… Everything.]
Towering.
For some reason, I could feel the ghost with no pupils and only red masturbation staring at Edu and Esie. Fidelis was in a sense of foreboding, and she called out to Edu and Esie.
“Edu, come behind Esie.”
The two of them stood behind Hakan’s feet, muttering silently.
[Ghosts follow humans?]
The ghost began to wander from side to side, distracted.
[Why? Why? Why?]
“It’s insane.”
With a look of displeasure on his face, Isota blurted out, and the ghost’s actions stopped as well. The ghost smiled grotesquely and walked in front of Isota. Shion hurried to her and blocked her as if he were guarding Isota. Isota pushed Shion’s face to the side and removed it from his side.
“Go away.”
“Hey, I know what he’s going to do!”
“I can see the trembling here.”
Sweeping up and down at Shion, who had been pushed helplessly by him, Isota clicked his tongue slightly. It was then that Shion snuck up behind Isota.
“Gee, will you protect me?”
“I don’t protect anyone but Reese.”
The sullen Zion didn’t fall behind her, though. Isota didn’t bother to stop him. She strides over and stands in front of Hakan and Fidelis. Shion hurried after her and stood behind her. The ghost had come closer and stood in front of Isota, looking up at her with its face up.
[Who’s Reese?]
“Why do we have to talk to him?”
Isota ran through her hair in annoyance.
“She’s Reese! Reese!”
The child’s voice kept talking as he pointed his finger at him, and Fidelis remembered the time when he was alone and terrified, and he wanted to cover his ears. The child’s voice at the height of his terror was enough to stir Fidelis’ fear, which had been quieting.
Hakan gently placed his hand on her face, bringing it closer to him. Fidelis wrapped his arms around Hakan’s neck. A small smile appeared on his lips.
“You don’t seem to want to hear your voice.”
Capturing Hakan’s mumbling voice, Isota clenched his fist and slammed it into the ghost’s neck.
[Boom!]
The ghost groaned and staggered wildly and stood tall again.
Knock, knock.
Without waiting for the ghost to grasp his twisted neck, Isota threw his foot straight away.
[Don’t… Monk ah… Is it a bang?]
[Lord, fist fight, fight?]
Seeing Isota dealing with ghosts without using magic, Edu and Essie tilted their heads. At their words, Fidelis gave a small smile from fear.
In the midst of all this, Edu and Essie were funny as they looked at Isota and said contemplatively, and the sight of Isota punching a demon without using any magic was hilarious because it didn’t fit the situation at all.
Isota, who had been haunted by Fidelis’ small laugh, stopped his actions and moved closer to Fidelis to listen.
“… What are you doing?”
“Did you all laugh?”
“What?”
“I love the smile on your face, and I want to hear it louder.”
Speaking in a tone dripping with regret, Isota turned to the ghost again. Even though he was beaten by Isota, the ghost seemed to be busy steadily putting the bones together and getting back to normal.
“I think I need to slice it.”
Hakan mumbled to Fidelis as he covered one ear and gently pressed the other to his shoulder, trying not to hear her, but sure to Isota’s ears. Then she nodded in agreement.
Hakan slipped away from the hand covering her ears, and she straightened her slanted head.
“Why?”
“The sound is so stimulating. I’m afraid it’s going to be hard.”
His thoughtful words, full of warmth, made Fidelis blush a small cheek and thanked him. Shion glanced at Hakan, who was smiling at him, and shook it off as if he were casting a spell, “That’s not Hakan.”
Isota paused, trying to use his magic to slice it before it was fully healed, as Hakan had said. Then he turned his head to look at Fidelis and smiled brightly.
“Reese, can you cover your ears and close your eyes tightly?”
Without questioning, Fidelis covered his ears and squeezed his eyes shut, as Isota had requested. Hakan involuntarily kneaded Fidelis’ cheek. Fidelis struggled to keep his eyes open, though. Hakan finally laughed out loud.
“Do you think I told you to do that for your good?”
“Look ahead.”
The ghost had been steadily adjusting its twisted body, and it had returned to its original state, just as it had been when it first appeared.
“Wow, that’s too much! I didn’t do anything!”
It grinned broadly and spoke to them in a slightly sullen voice, but Isota sent a half-moon-shaped wind of magic at the ghost. As if the sluggish movement earlier had been a lie, the ghost quickly dodged and smiled.
“I’ve avoided them all.”
Hakan muttered, and the sinews carved into Isota’s forehead.
“You let me avoid you?”
“After all, Isota-sama!”
When Shion congratulates Isota, saying that everything is fine, Isota squares his shoulders and smiles arrogantly. Hakan smiled sweetly, running a slight glance at Fidelis’ tiny trembling eyelashes in front of him or not.
“Humans are funny, they know they have the upper hand once they get hit.”
“I don’t know about the others, but I’m superior to you.”
Speaking in a smug response, Isota once again created a fierce wind.
[The desperate look on the human face when he realizes that he has the upper hand and is not so exhilarating!
“Oh, yes.”
Isota replied curtly, and the ghost curled both its eyes and mouth in a bizarre way, creating an artificial smile on its face. Just when he thought he had moved quickly from his seat, the ghost’s position changed to near the nape of Isota’s neck. The ghost’s grinning mouth opened and she slammed her fist down on the ghost’s cheek before biting at the back of Isota’s neck.
With a dull thud, the ghost fell to the floor, rolling over and touching Hakan’s nose. Hakan’s eyes lit up with an eerie madness, and he lifted his foot and crushed its arm.
[Aaa
Hakan lifted his foot once more, and the ghost fell from his feet at an unusual speed.
The aggression and power of the ghosts were so great that if Fidelis saw it now, he would think that it was a different game that was beyond the level of a horror game. That is, if it weren’t for Hakan and Isota.
“Maybe it’s because I’m influenced by the devil. I’m not weak.”
The ghost’s smile had long since faded. I should have noticed it and fled. By the time he had noticed, their strength was beyond what he could handle. The ghost rolled its eyes and moved quickly to escape to the door over Hakan’s shoulder, but Hakan was faster.
He grabbed the ghost by the throat so easily that it tried to escape from him, and he dropped it at Isota’s feet.
“As long as Reese is scared, I’ll never let her see me again.”
A relentless gaze sent shivers through his body, and the ghost couldn’t even move. He thought he had the upper hand, but he was just a prey. He was a herbivore, not a beast of prey. The beasts were those two with bright eyes that suddenly shone in the dark.
Isota smirked and stomped mercilessly on the confused ghost’s skull.
Whoops!
Goosebumps rang out. Shion, who was trembling, clasped his hands together when he saw Isota, and just let out a longing look.
When the ghost died and disappeared into ashes, Hakan tapped Fidelis on the bridge of her nose and gently grabbed her wrist from the corner of her ear to wrap it around her neck. Then he kissed his small protruding nose and whispered softly.
“You can open your eyes now, Reese.”
She crept open her eyes to see Hakan with a beautiful smile on her face. Surprised, she held her breath shortly, and he kissed her nose once more and he fell.
“The ghost is gone. Are you okay now?”
At the gentle sound of his voice, Fidelis placed his hand on his small pounding heart.
“Everything, it’s like my heart is pounding in a different way….”
Fidelis spoke to Hakan in a voice that crept in. Fidelis’ eyes were on Hakan and not elsewhere. His earlobes flushed at Fidelis’ gaze.
