How does it feel to step into a B-grade horror game? - 23
Episode 23.
“… I didn’t get rid of him for you to do this.”
Isota, annoyed by Hakan’s inability to fall into a world of pink auroras, squirmed.
Surprised, Fidelis turned from staring at him to Isota.
Satisfied with the gaze that landed on me, Isota was about to move closer to Fidelis when Zion popped out. Shion, who hugged Isota with a full look on his face, jumped up and down in his arms.
“Our Isota is so cool!”
“…….”
Isota’s body was fluttering helplessly under Shion’s hand. Fidelis quickly covered the corners of her mouth with her hand. Isota’s expression was not good enough to laugh openly.
“If you want to be beaten, don’t talk, Zion.”
“If it fits in Isota’s hand!”
“Really?”
Isota’s eyes grim and the corners of his mouth rolled up, and Fidelis turned away slightly. I didn’t have to look at the rest of the story. Then he heard Zion’s screams, but Fidelis didn’t stop them, as they didn’t look particularly bad.
* * *
With a hump on his head and a smirking Zion, Fidelis and his companions would open the large door at random to find a place where light could leak into the great hall, as the hint suggests.
It was the same this time. It wasn’t a very big-looking door, but it opened a door that looked like it might have a hall.
Squeaky
The medium-sized hall was a place for a small concert, and a variety of instruments were strewn about. Instrument strings were broken, and the remains of broken instruments were strewn about. The majority of instruments were more badly broken than intact. They were holding out a broken instrument, wondering if there were any hints.
Tubuk, Tubuk.
At the sound of footsteps behind him, he turned his head without knowing who was first. A woman with short navy blue hair looked at Isota and Hakan. Isota’s slender brow narrowed in displeasure.
“Isota! Coincidence, isn’t it?”
Wrapping his hands around her cheeks, Isota turned to Beth, the woman he loved, and let out a twisted voice.
“Sounds like a coincidence.”
Beth shrugged her shoulders humorously and turned her gaze straight to Fidelis. Isota, who was worried about the gaze, asked harshly, crossing the path between Beth and Fidelis.
“What do you see?”
Beth didn’t take her eyes off Fidelis and asked Isota.
“Who is it? I look a lot like you.”
“Who if? Don’t touch it, get out.”
His eyes were furious. Only then did Beth take a step back.
“Don’t do anything, don’t be so vigilant.”
Ignoring her softer voice, Isota turned away.
Beth was dangerous. He would do anything for what he wanted. I didn’t particularly hate that kind of personality, so I used to stick with him, but after I saw him crush and kill people he didn’t care about in order to get what he wanted, he turned away.
He couldn’t be rehabilitated. Beth didn’t know what was wrong. Even now, he couldn’t have appeared in front of Fidelis’ group for no reason. There must be something up to it.
Isota saw the blood stains on Beth’s shoes as she approached as if she knew. The ghosts turn to ashes when they die, which means that one of the volunteers has already died at her hands.
“I don’t think there’s a note, Isota-sama.”
Fidelis decided to turn off Beth’s nerves and acted as if she wasn’t there.
Fidelis scratched his cheek awkwardly, glanced at Beth, and then flinched his shoulder. I don’t know how long I’ve been staring at her, but Beth was staring at Fidelis with a fishy corner of her mouth turned up.
It didn’t seem like a smile in the best of the word. I felt a sense of foreboding. Beth’s black eyes somehow reminded me of the demon Pecua. An unintelligible, foreboding tentacle began to beep loudly.
“What kind of person is he?”
Fidelis looked away and asked in a whisper that only Hakan could hear.
“I don’t know.”
“Weren’t you acquainted?”
“I don’t know anybody.”
The shape of his mouth arced as he grinned.
“Never mind.”
As Fidelis’ gaze continued to turn to Beth, Hakan gently grabbed her chin and turned it around to lock it on him.
“Look? I’m here.”
“… What is it?”
Feeling seductive somehow, Fidelis hardened her face seriously and muttered softly.
[Twist, coax.]
[Num… Don’t go ahead, you can’t.]
As Edu and Essie hovered by Fidelis’ side, Hakan’s gaze turned downward. Seeing their gaze locked in, Edu and Essie muttered as far away from Hakan as possible.
[Wooh… Lee didn’t say anything, he said.]
[Oh, I didn’t see anything.]
Sasasak, Sasasak.
As they fled hard, they came to a halt at Isota’s feet.
“What, that?”
No one answered Beth’s questions.
“Let’s go.”
Passing Beth, they all followed Isota. He treated Beth as if she didn’t exist. Beth’s gaze landed on the ceiling as she stared at the back of them as they closed the door and left.
“Shall we follow you?”
“Horses.”
A seductive voice came from the ceiling. Beth grinned and began to walk leisurely behind them.
“Don’t forget what I promised.”
* * *
Beth kept chasing after her, which made Isota feel bad. There was no way to relieve the anger that was rising, so whenever a ghost appeared, he would kill her cruelly, as if he were showing her on purpose.
Fidelis wasn’t surprised by that, and he was comfortably embraced by Hakan. Seeing Beth smiling at the constant ignorance, Fidelis wondered.
Hakan didn’t really seem interested, Shion just stuck to Isota’s side, and Isota was the only one who wasn’t pleased.
“Why don’t you leave me alone?”
It was a question that Isota’s personality made because he must have dug a lot of tiles. Isota’s face lit up as he rubbed Fidelis’ cheek wildly.
“What? You?”
“… No. He’s him.”
“I don’t even want my hands to have blood. But I can’t.”
Then he strode over and began fumbling through Beth’s clothes.
“… What are you doing?”
“Aren’t you chasing me because you want to steal the note from me?”
Fidelis cheered Isota, who didn’t stop his hands from rummaging with strange logic. This was because if you found a hint and shared it, you would be more likely to catch the elusive clue and break the curse and escape.
“Oh, touch me!”
“What! What!”
“Isota-sama… It’s very bold and unapologetic.”
An admiring compliment escaped Fidelis’ lips.
“Cool!”
Shion’s hands clasped together and her eyes lit up, her face looking like she was going to die of joy.
“Sister!”
Isota, who was rummaging through Beth’s clothes, suddenly screamed. Fidelis tilted his head, and Hakan interpreted what he meant.
“I think you’re asking me to call you sister.”
“Oh.”
“Sister!”
Another screaming Fidelis fumbled with a slight flushing of his cheeks.
“Uh, sister.”
“I’ll find the note soon!”
Isota, who was in a good mood, shouted. Isota’s quicker action caught something in Isota’s hand as she rummaged through Beth’s clothes. He snatched it up and pulled it out of Beth’s pocket.
“I had it, too.”
Despite being helplessly snatched from the note by Isota, Beth didn’t take any next action, just staring at her.
It was a brown note, different from the one Isota had been looking for. Isota tilted his head, then wrinkled his face. There was a faint smell of blood wafting from the note. It was no use opening the note. The letters had long since been eaten by dried blood.
“Is it funny?”
“Wasn’t it fun?”
Isota crumpled the note violently and threw it hard in her face. The note that had fallen from Beth’s face was scattered across the floor. Brushing her face from the note, Beth mumbled her mouth pursed.
“It’s too much…….”
“Thank you Reese. The fact that you’re still standing like this is all because of my brother.”
He wanted to show Fidelis what he had been struggling with for a long time. I wanted to put only beautiful things in those beautiful eyes. It’s not like you’re killing people in front of you.
Hakan must have felt the same way. Otherwise, he couldn’t keep smiling. Every time he saw Hakan raise the corners of his mouth affectionately, he felt goosebumps in his arms, but he didn’t bother to show it.
This is because Fidelis seemed to like Hakan quite a bit.
“Brother? Did you have a brother?”
Again, there was no answer from Isota.
Zion’s calm, sunken eyes swept over Beth. Beth raised an eyebrow at the sensation of the snake crawling on her body, facing Shion.
He was hiding behind Isota, but he wasn’t a force to be reckoned with. Beth’s throat tightened without realizing it.
Zion’s face tilted sharply, and his chin was slowly smoothed.
“If you disturb Isota, …”
The thought didn’t last long. Isota had left me and Beth alone and hurried away with Fidelis and Hakan. Startled, Shion hurriedly turned her gaze away from Beth.
“Isota-sama! I’m still here!”
“Did you?”
To Shion, who had rushed after him, Isota replied calmly as if nothing had happened. His shoulders sank. He looked like a sullen puppy.
Fidelis asked a question, trying not to pay attention to Beth, who was still chasing her.
“How many applicants have entered this mansion in total?”
“Well, I don’t count, so I don’t know. Not so much.”
“I think there are about twenty of us.”
“Quite a bit… That’s a lot, isn’t it?”
Fidelis blinked, a little surprised.
“But maybe it’s a lot less now. There will be one or two dead.”
Speaking in a calm tone, as if he were talking about everyday life, Hakan habitually touched Fidelis’ cheek.
It was almost like survival. Twenty people crawled through this hellish place on their own, even though they could die.
Isota comes in to get Fidelis back, but what about Shion and Hakan?
Come to think of it, I didn’t even ask why I came in.
‘Excuse me if I asked?’
Noticing Fidelis squinting at him and Zion, Hakan pressed his lips against her shoulder and pulled them away. I could feel the soft, warm touch of his lips through his coat. Fidelis’ shoulders burned somehow.
“The emperor offered a great reward. That’s why we’re all here, Reese.”
I knew that. It was all written in the description I saw when I first arrived.
It seemed like a huge reward would be gold and silver treasures, but when I looked at Hakan and Zion, they didn’t seem particularly interested in gold and silver treasures.
“What’s the reward?”
“It’s magic.”
“Magujo? You risked your life for that one?”
There was a look of bewilderment all over his face.
