How does it feel to step into a B-grade horror game? - 27
Episode 27.
Somehow, she was so happy that things were going so well, that she had found a family she had never had in her life, and that she had someone who cared for her, and she was excited that a ray of light was finally in her hands.
I shouldn’t have been at ease in this place where the devil was looking for me and nowhere else. I should have been more aware of my surroundings. I shouldn’t have dismissed my anxious mood as just a mood…
Regret flooded over me. He held back the urge to throw Asin into the maw of the ghost chasing him from behind, to find the demon right away and grab him by the hair.
“Fidelis…? Are you okay?”
Fidelis looked to the side with concern. The kid, who appeared to be a boy smaller than me, asked with a slight concern.
“Name: Alvin
Featuring: Disciple of Isota Swald. 」
“What’s your name?”
“My name is Alvin. Let’s get this way!”
Escaping the ghost as it approached, Alvin grabbed Fidelis by the wrist and turned it into the right corner. Behind him, Astin was chasing after him, who didn’t give in even when he hurled insults. Alvin tilted his head as Fidelis continued to glance at him.
“Why do you keep looking at him?”
“… I thought I’d use it as bait….”
He scratched his cheek in embarrassment, and Alvin thought for a moment that he had misheard. Despite the fact that it was a rather gruesome statement, Alvin was taken aback for a moment, but then he nodded vigorously in agreement.
“Great! I think it’s a good idea!”
“Hey! I’ve heard it all!”
The ghost was steadily closing the distance. As Asin caught up with Fidelis with all his might, a white hand rose to his shoulder.
[Gotcha.]
The ghost with a gaping smile dragged Asin away. Surprised, Asin grabbed Fidelis by the long, flowing hair of Fidelis who was running right in front of him before falling backwards.
With a strong pain in his scalp, Fidelis fell backwards along with Astin as well. The sound of thuds filled the hallway. The chill of the cold hallway was felt on Fidelis’ back.
“Ugh.”
I felt a burning pain in my back.
“Mr. Fidelis!”
Surprised, Alvin lost grip on Fidelis’ wrist and let it go. The ghost had returned to its original form, and its tongue was hanging out in characteristic disgust, wrapping around Fidelis and Astin in its characteristic disgust. With no other way out, Alvin twisted to pounce on the ghost.
“It sucks!”
My brother and sister were me off in pairs. His throbbing back and scalp made him even more angry. Fidelis couldn’t stand it, and a small wave flowed into the ghost. A twinge of pain penetrated the ghost’s body, causing it to pause.
“It’s annoying, it’s really annoying!”
Fidelis shouted, slapping Astin’s face.
“Hey X, don’t you stop? It hurts!”
“You and your brother are just as unlucky!”
“What’s the same as me?”
Clutching his lip in annoyance, Asin snatched Fidelis’ wrist violently. Fidelis’ cheeks reddened with anger and he easily shook off his grip on his wrists. The ghost, who had paused for a moment, pounced on the two of them again, his maw wide open.
Asin drew his sword, and Fidelis raised his hand to block it. Then a small swarm of light began to rush into her palm and flew straight into its maw. The ghost whose throat had been pierced cried out in anguish.
[Kieeee
“What, what?”
Surprised, Asin turned around to look at Fidelis, his sword raised. Alvin stopped to look at her. Fidelis was stunned, too, as he looked at the palm of his hand that Hakan had bandaged with his own hands.
“I learned the skill, ‘Long Wind’. 」
“Ha, ha, ha.”
I burst out laughing.
“Isn’t this enough of a fool ……. the devil?”
The skills were too much in my favor. There were miscellaneous skills, and even strange items. Other than, there was no skill that could harm him. I couldn’t hold back my laughter.
I think that’s why this game was rumored to be B-grade. It was understandable that the game was made by demons, not humans, so it was rumored that the setting was crude.
Luckily, this wasn’t going to hurt me. On the contrary, it was a benefit.
Keeping his eyes off the ghost who was in agony, Fidelis rose from his seat, grabbed Alvin’s wrist as he stood in a daze, and began to run.
It wasn’t dead, because it didn’t turn to ashes. I didn’t know when he would get up again, disguise himself as someone and attack me.
“Alvin! Wake up!”
“Hot! Yes!”
Only then did his dazed and blurred focus return, and he began to run hard, holding her by the wrist. Fidelis smiled a little at Alvin’s cuteness as he replied steadily. The innocent smile made Alvin’s face flush.
“How did you do that?”
Asin asked, chasing after him with his sword in its sheath. Fidelis stretched out her palm and held it out menacingly to him.
“Why? Can you blow it to you?”
Momentarily, Asin reached for the handle of his sword.
“If you don’t want to die, don’t chase me.”
As it turns out, she looks similar to Beth, and Fidelis has a burning desire to kill Astin. The sight of Isota, stained with blood from her attack, was eerily vivid.
And that ghost. I’ve seen it in its true form. The ghost had appeared out of nowhere when he was separated from Hakan’s group.
“When I was separated from Hakan by Pecua, he was taken with me.”
He fumbled with his empty throat as if it were a habit. The Necklace of Healing was no longer worn. It was because he wrote it to Isota. He squeezed the blood stains on his nightgown. I felt tears welling up in my eyes again. The tip of his nose wrinkled and his vision blurred with tears.
“It’s okay, Fidelis. I’ll take you to Master!”
When asked if he knew Isota, Fidelis replied with a hint that he did. Alvin was convinced that the two had already met. So, for some reason, when the two of them were separated, he was sure that his job was to get Isota to Fidelis safely.
Looking at Fidelis’ eyes, which were on the verge of tears, Alvin reassured her in a cheerful voice. Fidelis took a deep breath and exhaled. She corrected her grip on Alvin’s wrist and joined him in hand.
“Yes! I’ll believe you!”
It was a bright and beautiful smile. Alvin lowered his head, trying to hide his involuntarily reddened face. He couldn’t hide his reddened ears and neck, but Fidelis didn’t notice.
“Shake your head.”
Astin sneered, wondering if Fidelis’ warning had been heard. I really thought about stopping and trying out the new Long Wind skill, but I gave up.
Now he had to get away from the ghost as quickly as he could. If it doesn’t die from a long wind, it must be a pretty strong ghost.
Astin had a stocky body, and he couldn’t get rid of it, so it would probably be hard for him to win. I had to keep my mind off it and get as far away as I could. Astin’s handling was an afterthought, and Alvin and Fidelis ignored and kept going.
Fidelis zigzagged around corners with Alvin, repeatedly climbing up the stairs when he saw them. By the time they got to the point where they couldn’t stand it, they ran for a long time and stopped to catch their breath.
His legs were shaking, and Fidelis stumbled involuntarily from his seat. Hakan’s pristine legs were already in disrepair, and the wounds had grown.
Fidelis carefully smoothed his feet, which were stained with a bit of blood and dirty black grime. I thought of Hakan, who always smiled sweetly.
His power was blocked by demons. This was the Devil’s Chamber, and there was nothing Hakan could do. Hakan’s frown, feeling helpless, and the last time he was seen bleeding from the bounce of the attack.
“… It should be okay.”
Who cares about whom now. Fidelis laughed self-helpingly.
His shoulders, which had been heaving from heavy breathing, calmed down a little, and Alvin squatted down in front of her, making eye contact with her.
“Master will be fine, don’t worry too much.”
He didn’t know what had happened, but this was all he could say right now.
“I think so. Isota’s tough.”
He also healed me with a necklace.
“You don’t call me sister, do you?”
Alvin was a little puzzled, and Fidelis twitched his fingers in embarrassment.
“I’m not used to it yet.”
“Aha. You can!”
Astin was lying on his back. Alvin gave him a disgusted look, and then asked Fidelis a series of questions to lighten the mood.
“Then did you hear all the context from Master?”
“yes, it’s all about what’s going on.”
“So you’ve been alone with Master all this time?”
“No, sir. Hakan, Edu, Eshi, and Shion were with us. Oh, just in case?”
He folded his fingers one by one and looked at Alvin slightly, and his mouth was wide open. Even Asten, who had been lying on his back, jumped to his feet and approached the two of them.
“Ha, Hakan was with you?”
“Were you being held hostage?”
Astin was offended by Asten’s disrespectful tone, but Fidelis ignored it and only looked at Alvin.
“Yes, is there something wrong?”
“Hakan was with you? Quietly?”
“Hakan is friendly…….”
Alvin’s face became seriously strange, as if he had heard something he couldn’t hear.
“Oh, I don’t think so.”
Scratching his cheek, he looked away from Alvin and saw the portraits on the wall. Fidelis stood up as if possessed.
Framed portraits were lined up on the walls of the hallway. If there was one thing they had in common, they were all sliced in what was visible on their faces, and their hair was all white.
I stand in front of a large framed portrait. Beneath the faded portrait was a small letter, but it was hidden from view because of the long bloodstains in the shape of palms. Fidelis tried to wipe the blood stains carefully, but they didn’t.
Fidelis decided to examine each portrait from the end of the hallway. Alvin scrambled to his feet as Fidelis slowly made his way toward the portrait that hung at the beginning.
“This….”
When the portrait was blurred by the darkness, Fidelis pulled out one of the candles that hung on the wall and held it close to the portrait.
