How does it feel to step into a B-grade horror game? - 37
Episode 37.
His breathing began to thunder in his ears, his heart pounding hard and pounding hard in his ears. As he surveyed his surroundings, he saw a boomerang in the shape of a half-moon. Holding on to her stiff posture, she hurriedly grabbed the boomerang in her hand, blew out the candle, and put her back against the wall.
Then, an uncharacteristically cheerful mechanical sound came in.
“I got the item ‘Boomerang’. 」
Fidelis bit her parched lip. I got the item, but I wondered if it would help. It was better than nothing, so I caught it, but I was still nervous.
A cold sweat dripped down his spine, and the mysterious red circle was getting closer.
[Uhh
[Uhhh
As the groaning grew closer and the unknown became visible to the naked eye, Fidelis wanted to let it all go.
They walk with severely twisted arms and legs. Some had axes brutally stuck in their heads, others dangling from their necks, and others were disgusting to look at, with handfuls of entrails dangling out of their bellies.
‘Zombie!’
Tears quickly began to form in the corners of Fidelis’ eyes. I thought there was something weird about it, but I didn’t expect there to be a horde of zombies. He wondered how many kinds of ghosts and monsters Pecua had brought to this mansion.
I thought I had made up my mind, but when I came face to face with them again, my pulse quickened and my fear spilled out. Hakan and Isota’s faces glazed over, and they wanted to run over and take them into their arms to wash away their anxiety.
[Ugh, uhhh
Both sides began to tighten more and more on Fidelis. Fidelis, who had to hurry to the place where the portrait was, even if he hid in a room, had to either outrun or kill all the zombies and move forward.
Fidelis gritted his teeth to take a cool look at the situation, scouring the zombies. I wondered if there was a clue.
The zombies’ outfits were a bit unusual. Fidelis was dressed in a very different outfit from the world in which he lived, and it was mostly shabbily dressed.
As I was thinking about this, a familiar hair color reflected in the candle on the wall. Fidelis squinted and saw the zombie as best she could. He had white hair, dressed in luxurious clothes, and groaning in a rather miserable manner. And for some reason, he also resembled Sarha.
“No way…….”
He said that gray-haired hair is not common here, so he must be one of the people of Merwyn.
As I scanned the other zombies with my eyes peeled, I saw some wearing luxurious clothes and others wearing shabby clothes. Apparently, these were the people who had been murdered by Pecua in Merwyn Manor and the Merwyn family.
It didn’t make sense for the gray-haired head to suddenly be here, so it was a conclusion he had drawn.
As she had guessed, they were blocked by this mansion because of Pecua, and they remained here as living but not alive.
Pecua wasn’t dragging a horde of zombies. They had always been the people of this mansion. I had a rough idea of what it was, but I repeat, that wasn’t the problem. Just because I had a rough idea of who they were wasn’t scary, it wasn’t scary.
Fidelis clenched a boomerang in one hand and a candle in the other as if it were a lifeline. It was best to go up, but I couldn’t. The alarm that something mysterious above was more dangerous than this horde of zombies couldn’t stop.
Closing his eyes tightly, Fidelis thought of Hakan and Isota. Edu, Esie, and Shion.
Hakan’s friendly smile as he hugged me, Isota’s squirming and loving eyes on me, Shion’s cheerful grumbling and Edu and Essi following me.
Thinking about everything, Fidelis tried to calm himself as he tried to calm himself down with fear. Thinking of those who might be alive, he wanted to find them as soon as possible and tell them that they were alive.
When she opened her closed eyes, she was determined, even though the fear hadn’t gone away. Fidelis squeezed the boomerang. It was a lot of zombies, but I didn’t think I was going to lose. If he didn’t use the lion pepper, but fought with all his skills other than that, he would be able to get rid of the zombie horde and find another staircase to climb up. For Fidelis, it was a big decision, and one that was uncharacteristically daring.
Taking a deep breath, Fidelis waited with bated breath until they had reached his distance. With each slow step he took to me, Fidelis tried to hold his breath even more.
Don’t fail, don’t fail.
Fidelis began to brainwash herself. As soon as the zombies came within a certain distance, Fidelis threw a boomerang at the zombies on his right. It was time to leave the zombies knocked down by the boomerang and attack the left side this time.
Boom, boom!
The boomerang, which had been making a menacing sound, suddenly grew and became a sharp blade, and began to slaughter the zombies in an instant.
Tuk, tuduk, tuduk.
The sound of corpses falling helplessly began to be heard one after another. Like a boomerang with wings, it easily split through the zombies approaching from the right, and then threatened the other side of the zombies, cutting them off in an instant. Then the boomerang returned to its original size and landed in Fidelis’ hands, which had been frozen with his hands raised in a daze, covered in blood.
“… Huh?”
A strange gasp came out of his mouth. Just as the hordes of horrible-mutilated zombies belatedly climbed up and made me gasp, I heard the sound of machinery.
“Skill: Boomerang Flying (Prize)”. 」
“…?”
Fidelis opened his mouth in vain, staring blankly at the boomerang in his hand. Then, when he saw the hordes of zombies that had fallen down, he jerked his face away. I didn’t feel well. I actually saw people being sliced, and it couldn’t have been better.
I just wanted to get rid of the memories of the past that were floating around in my head right now. Fidelis, who couldn’t stand the gushing vomit, finally vomited once and gasped. Wiping the corners of his mouth with the back of his hand, Fidelis kept his mouth shut and looked at the boomerang again.
I don’t know if Pecua intended it, but for some reason, he would give her the skills she needed in an emergency. It was the same now. I felt like all of my skills were on my side. Even in this desperate situation, the boomerang he suddenly got was able to defeat such a large number of zombies and give them a direction to go.
This time, he could have survived and gone to meet Hakan and Isota.
“I can do this.”
The fear was momentarily dispelled by a surge of hope. Fidelis’ eyes were narrowly folded and her cheeks were covered with a lovely blush as if she had a pale pink flower on them. It was such an adorable smile that Hakan and Isota would have slapped him on the bruise, and they wanted to bite it.
A few zombies who had been dismembered and died once again were reduced to ashes, but the few zombies that were still alive despite their dismemberment were crawling and making muffled noises. Fidelis removed the lamp from the wall to avoid them.
Kung! Kung!
Then a dull sound came from the stairs above, and Fidelis hurriedly moved his eyes again. I noticed a small gap under the stairs that I hadn’t seen before. It looked narrow enough to squeeze into it, but Fidelis didn’t think too much about it, and immediately pounced and hid herself there.
The ominous and creepy feeling I had felt earlier was getting stronger.
Fidelis was about to fling to hide when something tumbled down the stairs. I could only see a face I didn’t know. Fidelis covered his mouth with his hand. When I saw the brutal corpse, I couldn’t help but shed tears. Intense fear began to wash over his body, and the dull sound of footsteps began to descend the stairs.
Thump, thump.
Every time he nervously stepped on the stairs, Fidelis’ body vibrated as she hid under the stairs.
And Fidelis could see it clearly as it appeared on the side of the stairs. His hunched back prevented him from sheltering, and the monster’s face, visible through his long black hair, was covered with blood, as if it had been washed with blood. His hands and legs were unusually long and thin.
The monster was carrying a knife as thick as a butcher’s. The unideally skinny monster stomped nervously on the floor.
[About… The sun… You… Weak….]
Fidelis froze, unable to shudder. It was a fear unlike anything I’d ever seen before. A sound more disgusting than the sound of metal rang in his ears.
‘Above, it’s dangerous!’
The current situation could not be compared to a simple horror game. It was just a survival game where you had to throw yourself into a group of hopeless monsters and try to survive on your own.
I don’t know what Pecua saw and made it, but it was really a literal B-grade horror game, and it felt like it had been smashed into everything else.
All the while, Fidelis struggled not to close his eyes. As soon as I closed it, I felt as if a small stumbling monster would suddenly appear in front of me and roll my eyes.
[In… Liver… A strong human being… I need it….]
The monster didn’t know what was so intoxicating, but with a nonchalant face, he raised his sword and began to slam it down on the zombies lying in front of him. The vomit-filled monster wandered around and suddenly snuck into the bottom of the stairs.
Surprised, Fidelis squeezed further into the crack in the stairs. He clenched his feet and poured all his nerves into his body. The pressure was so tight that he couldn’t even breathe.
I wondered about my sudden heightened senses, but for a moment, I remembered the skill “Sense” I had heard as soon as I woke up. I vaguely thought that the “sense” I mentioned in the skill might mean feeling the danger with my whole body, but it didn’t matter.
Thanks to that skill, he was able to hide from the monster, but at the same time, a feeling of fear was more than usual that consumed his entire body. It meant that his fear had multiplied. Unable to wipe away the tears that flowed unstoppable, Fidelis focused as much as she could on her ears, trying to read the monster’s movements.
Luckily, the monster didn’t see Fidelis and paced around it.
[In… The smell of the liver….]
He could hear a sniff through his nose, but the monster couldn’t pinpoint Fidelis’ location due to the foul scent of the zombies’ blood. After a few minutes of pacing, the monster gradually moved away, and the senses that had been screaming for danger began to subside.
Fidelis felt his strength loose and his arms and legs went limp. Breathing heavily, Fidelis wiped away tears.
