How does it feel to step into a B-grade horror game? - 49
Episode 49.
It was much better and adorable to be the way she was now than the sad way she cried. The same happy smile hung on the corner of Shion’s lips. I clenched my fists to make sure I would never lose that image again.
He wore a calm smile and was a far cry from his usual playful appearance. His heart was firm on Isota.
Isota glanced at Shion, and he poked his head in a polite mischievous smile.
“Pet me too!”
He looked no different than usual. Naturally, even if Isota ignored him, a smile still came from the corner of Shion’s mouth. Because that was Isota.
“The door just opened on its own.”
That was the problem, but everyone was so calm that he seemed weird, so Fidelis cleared his throat slightly.
“Let’s go in, shall we?”
“If Reese wants to do that.”
I didn’t want to, but I was able to get important information or items from unexpected places. It has always been that way.
Isota led the way, followed by Fidelis and Shion, who snuck in behind her. Harold and Alvin followed, scanning every corner of the room. It was a room that was no different. Just as I was about to go outside, the door slammed shut.
“What is it?”
“All of a sudden, the door closed. It won’t even open!”
Embarrassed, Alvin tugged at the doorknob and shouted. It was time for Isota to break down the door.
[Kick.]
[Kikiki.]
Multiple overlapping laughter began to fill the room. Isota pulled Fidelis to his side and watched in silence.
They could not be located unless the ghosts appeared directly in front of them. All he could do was wait for the ghost to appear.
Loud laughter continued to hover around them. Fidelis tightened his grip on Isota. She patted her white cheek as if to tell her not to worry, and gripped Fidelis’ hand even tighter.
He waited for an opportunity to get rid of it, but all he could hear was laughter and no action, causing one of Isota’s eyebrows to twitch.
Isota took Fidelis and strode toward the door. As the blue energy gathered around her hand, she threw a ball of magic at the door.
Boom!
A loud roar was heard, and smoke enveloped the surroundings. With a rough flick of her hand, she led Fidelis out through a gaping door. The laughter was cut short.
“It’s not a big deal, is it?”
I wondered what it was.
“Is that what games are all about?”
“Mmmm. No. Maybe it’s because it’s made by a demon who lives in this world, so there are a lot of flimsy points… And yet it’s cruel and terrifying…”
That’s why I was cursed a lot for being a B-grade horror game.
“I don’t think it’s too cruel.”
“I think it’s just Isota-sama and Hakan.”
Harold didn’t seem scared, but he seemed startled. But Isota and Hakan weren’t surprised. It was just a bummer. Alvin was also frightened by strong demons.
Zion, like Fidelis, was afraid of everything. Isota’s eyes and shoulders sank in disappointment as he chatted with Fidelis in silence.
“… Mr. Isota?”
“Why are you Isota-sama again? Don’t you like your sister?”
She was unscathed when she saw ghosts and disgusting monsters, but she was visibly sad and cried.
“It’s not that, it’s just that I’m not used to it yet… It’s not that I can’t be hot. … Sister.”
At that moment, she had a smile on her face like a flower blooming. Shion laughed at the sidelines.
Alvin twitched his fingers every time he saw a new side of his master, not knowing how to react.
That was then.
Hook!
In an instant, all the candles on the wall were extinguished, and thanks to the candles, the hallway that had been barely visible in front of them became so dark that you couldn’t see an inch in front of you.
“Reese, stick to me a little more.”
I pulled my hand and pressed Fidelis against me. At the same time, a chill was creeping from the scythe behind her. In the pitch darkness, all I could see was the white hair of Isota and Fidelis.
He looked around the darkened hallway and headed for the room where Fidelis’ gaze had been pierced. The soft moonlight coming in against the balcony was the only brightest here.
As I stared blankly at it, something snuck past the balcony. I had goosebumps all over my body.
“Well, what’s gone…!”
“Where?”
“I, on the balcony in the back of that room….”
“Ouch! Where’s Isota? I’m scared!”
Isota grabbed Shion’s arm tightly and placed it on his shoulder. Shion finally calmed down and gripped her shoulder as tightly as if he were holding on to her lifeline.
Harold and Alvin snuck around Fidelis and Isota’s white hair.
Swish!
“Again!”
The black figure must have passed by again. I wondered how it could be so dark in the reflection of the moonlight.
Sasasak.
“Eh, are Edu and Essie moving?”
[Oh… In this case, it is not possible
[Oooh, we’re going, we’re going, we’re going.]
So what are you talking about?
My chest pounded with anxiety. This sensation was not unfamiliar. A fear was rising that was similar to that skinny monster. Fidelis held Isota’s arm tightly and didn’t look away from the balcony.
Then.
Bang!
“Ugh!”
“Ugh!”
Fidelis and Zion screamed at the same time. Palm prints with a lot of black liquid suddenly appeared on the transparent glass window leading to the balcony and made a loud noise. He certainly wouldn’t be able to go outside, but the prints on his palms were from outside.
“Isota-sama… Why don’t we turn on the lights?”
“Oh.”
Harold’s cautious suggestion gave him a small gasp, then a light flashed over his palm, and a face popped up in front of Fidelis.
“Kiyaaa
“Ugh!”
Harold and Alvin turned a deaf ear to the intense ultrasonic waves from the lion’s back. The ghost who had heard Fidelis’ lion in front of him had vanished.
“Hey, is this the lion’s post?”
Alvin asked, rubbing his still gloomy ears, and Fidelis nodded awkwardly.
“I’m so surprised….”
The moment you turn on the light, there is a ghost in front of you with your mouth open. I tried to calm my pounding heart and kept my nerves at bay.
Still, the chilling sense of dread hasn’t gone away. If so, it means that something that causes it still exists in this space.
Probably from the balcony. I’m sure I didn’t notice anything when I entered the room. It was certain that a strong monster or ghost had awakened because of some action.
Sarha was also a system that appeared when he touched the portrait. But he didn’t have to worry about it now. It had already happened, and I had to keep my nerves on my toes for now.
“… Isn’t it a little cold?”
Harold muttered, brushing goosebumps on his arm. White breath surged around her mouth accordingly. The chill from his scythe was getting stronger.
“It’s definitely cooled down.”
As soon as it got cold, everyone shut their mouths tightly and no one opened them. In the silence and darkness, the only clear thing was the black palm print on the balcony window.
He didn’t know if he was shivering from the cold or from fear of something, but he could hear footsteps coming from a distance.
“Who, who? Is it Hakan?”
“Hakan must be investigating the other side….”
Alvin and Fidelis quickly became frightened and kept their mouths shut. It was so dark that I couldn’t even see who was running from a distance.
As Isota beamed the floating lights into the hallway where he could hear the sound of a rush, someone hugged Fidelis.
“Ugh!”
Before she could be relieved by the sudden warmth of her body, she raised her hand and was about to swing it at someone, when she hurriedly grabbed Fidelis’ wrist.
“Reese, it’s me. Calm down.”
“Ha, Hakan?”
“Why is my body so cold? Where are you hurt?”
“Why, why are you here…?”
After scouring his trembling body, Hakan hugged Fidelis tightly. The warmth of his body was completely felt. Chester, who had come running from behind him, gasping late, slumped to the floor.
“Fast!”
“Have you checked everything already?”
“I was looking around, but suddenly I heard something popping and screaming.”
He skimmed it at a rapid pace, and on his way back he heard a roar, and Hakan began to run at a breakneck pace.
Suddenly, Chester followed suit, but Chester, who was focused on his research, had a hard time keeping up with his pace. Apart from his ability, his physical strength was a mess.
“But why is it so dark here?”
Chedster, belatedly realizing this, tilted his head and rolled his eyes eagerly.
“Am I mistaken that it’s a little cold?”
“No, sir. I think there’s something to it.”
Kung!
Then, again, a loud roar came from the balcony. As all eyes drifted to it, Fidelis almost collapsed with weakness in his legs. Hakan hurriedly wrapped his arms around her waist and held her firmly.
On the balcony was a monster with rotting flesh all over its body, revealing its flesh and bones. It looked like it had been gnawed by something, and it was clearly outside the mansion.
His heartbeat quickened and his breathing became labored. Between her red eyes, her longitudinal pupils were bursting with an inexplicable redness.
Kung!
It slammed down the spear once more, and its already rotten black flesh dripped from its hands.
An unpleasant shiver ran from the top of his head to his toes. The skill of ‘sense’ was heightening Fidelis’ fear.
It was great when I sensed and avoided danger, but when my senses were so sharpened that I felt more fear, I wanted to get rid of my sensory skills.
Fidelis took a deep breath and tried to clear his mind and heart. If you were alone, you wouldn’t win, but there was Isota and Hakan.
Even if the demon didn’t win, they had nothing to fear except Pecua.
Hakan glanced at Isota, and she let go of her grip on Reese. Hakan quickly picked up Fidelis, who was embarrassed by his empty hands.
“I’m burying my face in my shoulder. As always.”
“Oh, it’s okay….”
“I’m fine. You don’t have to force yourself to see what you can’t see, Reese.”
He stroked her trembling cheek once and smiled sweetly. Fidelis hesitated, obediently burying his face in his shoulders and wrapping his arms around his neck.
Boom, thump!
This time, the monster slammed its head into the window, and then it lunged at the window to punch it again, this time with its head gently piercing through the window.
“What?”
“Bar, can you come in from outside?!”
Alvin shouted in surprise, and Fidelis’ shoulders in Hakan’s arms snapped. Even if I didn’t look at it, I could understand what was going on.
Isota stretched one cheek of Alvin, gritting his teeth and whispering softly. Isota’s eyes glowed eerily in the light she floated.
“Boom.”
“Huh, yes!”
Alvin, as if he had seen more than a ghost, tightened his body and kept his mouth shut.
[Well, grunk… Kruk….]
Intermittent voices sounded like their vocal cords had been torn, and Fidelis’ arms tightened. Hakan tightened his grip on her neck so as not to be surprised by the strength of her arm as he had last time.
