How does it feel to step into a B-grade horror game? - 57
57.
Hakan and Isota’s momentum quickly became ferocious. He felt like he was about to run through the glass door right now, so Fidelis hurriedly grabbed them and made them look at him.
“Before you go in, haven’t you forgotten your promise to me?”
“Sure.”
“Absolutely.”
Fidelis glanced at the glass door and spoke back to the two of them.
“What did I say?”
“Wait, no matter what.”
“I beg you to believe me.”
Fidelis’ serious expression made them obediently answer. She said to them with certainty, and once again she drove a wedge into them.
“That’s right, never forget everything I said.”
After a moment’s hesitation, Fidelis hugged Isota and Hakan in turn, smiling broadly. Even if he believed in himself and waited, he wouldn’t be able to laugh at the event.
“Now let’s get in.”
Finally, the time has come to lift the curse.
* * *
“It was a shame to go out like that.”
Pecua shrugged her shoulders in disbelief, and she rose to her seat and floated in the air. Fidelis exchanged a glance with Chester and nodded slightly.
Now we have finally reached the final place. Now that he was ready, all he had to do was find an opening.
Pecua smiled broadly at Fidelis, who didn’t respond to her words and was lost in thought.
“No matter how much I think about it, the end must be determined…”
With an obvious sneer, he looked down at Fidelis with pity. Fidelis didn’t respond to her, just kept his mouth shut. After all, that laid-back face would soon crack, and Fidelis decided not to be impatient.
Impatience and nervousness could derail the plan. I had to be cautious. Fidelis kept his eyes on Pecua and tried to be as aware of his surroundings as possible. When Chester cut the doll, he had to find a place to hide, if only for a moment.
My heart was pounding. He didn’t know if it was the anticipation of breaking the curse soon, the fear of failing, or the fear of being caught. Fidelis turned visibly pale, and Hakan gently grabbed her cheek.
“Reese.”
“Oh, yes.”
“Are you worried?”
“… Yes.”
I was worried about everything. Until the curse is lifted, this worry probably won’t go away.
Hakan looked at her and smiled bitterly. His self-confidence was nothing to show here. It was so bad that I couldn’t keep a single precious one. He wanted to open his chest and shout out for himself to believe in himself, but he knew what Pecua’s power was like in this space.
Nevertheless….
“I’ll protect you.”
And yet I will protect you.
“So….”
“Yes, Hakan. I believe it.”
She grinned, burying her cheek in Hakan’s uncharacteristically hesitant palm. No matter what, he had a reason to succeed.
Even if the unexpected happens, the curse will be lifted somehow. Hakan’s lips slowly touched Fidelis’ forehead and then fell.
“After that, I’ll go out and do it.”
“Huh?!”
He grinned mischievously and smoothed Fidelis’ cheek. Fidelis’ face burned as he cried out in surprise. Pecua watched the two of them indifferently, but didn’t bother to disturb them.
After all, I know how their faces will distort in a few hours. The corners of Pecua’s mouth lifted pleasantly. The wait was worth it.
Pecua was going to let Fidelis do whatever he did. After all, from the moment she entered this place, the end of the curse was destined to be a tragedy. I’ll never be able to change that.
“There’s no way I’m going to lose the fight in the first place.”
To hide the constantly rising corners of her mouth, Pecua covered her mouth with her hand, but she couldn’t hide her half-moon curved eyes. Isota’s eyes, which had been keeping an eye on Pecua ever since he entered, became sharper.
Something was up to his mind. Otherwise, there was no way he would have been so relaxed in greeting Fidelis when he reached his last place.
I decided to trust Fidelis, I decided to leave everything to her, but there was still a tingling in my heart. I was anxious even though nothing had happened yet. I feel like I’m playing into the devil’s hands again.
Knowing that they would come this far, Pecua greeted them as if it were a matter of course. It also meant that he had been watching them all along. I felt dirty as if it was still in the palm of her hand.
It was already the second time. He didn’t want to go through more than that, and he didn’t want to miss it. It was the last. Once he got over this hump, he could take Fidelis back to the mansion.
“I’ll leave it to Hakan first, send him away, and bring him back in safety.”
When I see Fidelis, I’m the kind of person who will say nasty things. I mean, don’t be distracted, don’t let your guard down until the very end.
“There’s nothing to be nervous about. Loosen up the impression. I’m not going to do it myself.”
Even if you don’t do anything, you’ll be floundering in despair anyway.
I just looked around to see if I could just open it up. Really, Pecua just floated in the air, looking down at her leisurely, wondering if she had any intention of interfering.
Fidelis was quite embarrassed, wondering if he had hidden it from Hakan and Isota. I felt like I was the only one who was serious, and my face burned.
But that was it. As he pondered whether he should carry out his plan, Pecua wondered if he had flashed something.
“Oh, but I can’t help the disturbers.”
“What?”
Isota replied harshly, and Pecua shrugged humorously.
“I was just showing him the way, looking very angry.”
There was a thud from the door they had entered, and a man came in breathing. It was Eland who suffered a crushing defeat against Isota. There was blood in the place where the first aid was given with clothes that I didn’t know where I had picked it up.
“And since it’s the last one, let’s gather all the things that are left.”
She rubbed her index and middle fingers, revealing the three volunteers who were still alive. There was Astin frowning.
“I’ve lived more than I thought.”
Pecua chuckled and snapped her fingers again. Then the great hall was filled with ghosts and monsters that resided in the mansion.
“What is this?!”
One of the surprised volunteers shouted: Pecua stared straight at Fidelis and spoke.
“Of course, I didn’t mean to bring in only the surviving humans. Fidelis, get out of the way of these and break the curse.”
The urge to punch Pecua in the face as he teasingly grabbed his stomach and giggled. Hakan and Isota hurriedly took Fidelis to a corner. With Fidelis behind, they stood in front and began to deal with the monsters.
I knew it was going to be unexpected, but I didn’t expect it to be like this. The volunteers, who managed to survive, could not escape and began to scream and fight in the middle of the hall.
“What is this!”
“Why are you doing this all of a sudden!”
Unable to adapt to the sudden situation, the volunteers screamed in frustration. However, as he had held out until now, he did not retreat and kept his body steady. Astin staggered, grabbing his sword and swinging it toward Fidelis.
The groans of monsters and ghosts, the roar of attacks, and the screams of people filled the hall in a dizzying way. It was truly a tragedy. Pecua was the only one who was laid-back in this mess.
Just as he was about to grab Chester to carry out his plan, Eland lunged at Isota, swinging his greatsword. Shion stepped forward in place of Isota, who let out an irritated breath, and slammed his toe hard into his head.
“Ugh!”
“If you lose, surrender cleanly.”
Isota spat out irritably, still gritting his teeth at Eland. He was so crazy that he was a monster, but when the author joined him, his frustration soared. But Eland, his face contorted in anger because he couldn’t hear Isota’s words, suddenly screamed like a beast.
“Aaa
“Isota, the author’s state seems a bit strange….”
At Shion’s words, Pecua smirked, her eyes and mouth twisting unusually. Eland’s screamed body suddenly began to swell. At the same time, his eyes turned black, his mouth foamed, and blue veins surged all over his body.
Staring at Eland’s unideal transformation, Fidelis glared at Pecua as she floated in the air.
“Is that you?”
“I just gave him a little bit of my strength in his vengeance. I’m just helping people like you.”
“I’m not going to step up…!”
“I’m not going to fight now.”
He was deceiving me with the same pun again.
“You’re going to be twice as strong as before, Isota. Cheer up.”
Eland’s eyes glowed red as he breathed heavily. His unfocused eyes were like those of a monster that had lost its reason. As he screamed and ran towards Isota, Hakan pushed him to Fidelis’ side, then raised his hand to send a strong wind flying.
As he approached, Eland’s body was tossed over by Hakan’s wind. Eland, who was groaning as he fell, was once again blown up by a strong wind, and he began to slide and roll down the hole.
As Eland’s massive hulk began to roll in the saturated hall, the monsters and ghosts lay to ash without a chance to escape.
“No big deal.”
Hakan shook his hands away as if they were dirty, and then looked away at Eland.
“Ha, ha, ha.”
Pecua laughed intermittently. It was a little bit of a thing, but it was a man of his own.
But how easy can you do it?
“I need to kill him before I break the curse.”
Pecua’s eyes lit up.
“Did you want to go out on your own?”
Hakan’s question, full of obvious sarcasm, made Pecua’s eyes twitch. When she didn’t say anything, he looked at her and sneered. A feeling of discomfort crept up and irritated Pecua. She frowned, her lips tightly pursed.
With that, Hakan didn’t provoke Pecua any more. But I couldn’t beat her in this realm. Hakan silently disposed of the monster again. Chester crept over Fidelis behind him and asked in a low voice that only she could hear.
“What do you do? Just do it?”
What can I do.
Biting his nails, he cast his gaze on Pecua, and the relaxed expression was gone, but he still showed no signs of moving.
He was staring at Hakan instead of Fidelis, so if this was his chance, it was his chance.
