- Episode 79 - Luna's Plan (Part 2)
Goldasht Castle, Audience Chamber.
A royal council meeting.
This sacred space was filled with many central nobles.
The central nobles were essentially relatives of the Naia’s royal family.
Currently, they had gathered under the queen, but many of them were considering abandoning their traditional devotion to the queen and aligning themselves with the faction of the First Prince, Albert.
Colorful light streamed through the large circular stained glass, illuminating the queen’s throne, which was placed on an elevated platform.
Seated there was Queen Carlina von Naia, the current ruler of the Kingdom of Naia.
Although she was middle-aged, she possessed a beauty that could easily be mistaken for a woman in her twenties or thirties.
“Luna von Naia, I appoint you as the lead envoy for the peace negotiations with Ortenos.”
Carlina spoke to the young girl standing before her.
“I humbly accept.”
Luna bowed gracefully to her mother, the queen.
Her movements were so refined that everyone present was momentarily captivated.
“Nicholas, I appoint you as one of the envoys. Support Luna well.”
Next, Carlina addressed the young man with blond hair and blue eyes standing beside Luna.
“I accept the appointment.”
Following Luna’s lead, Nicholas also performed a formal bow.
Everything was proceeding as planned so far.
However, Luna found Albert’s continued silence unsettling.
Albert would never want Luna to achieve success in diplomacy.
She had expected some kind of interference.
“With this, the royal council is adjourned—”
Just as Chancellor Gianluca was about to conclude the meeting, the large doors burst open, and a group of Stellar-class nobles barged in.
“It would be quite troubling if such decisions were made without our consent, Queen Carlina.”
The one leading the group was a middle-aged man with a large build, a scarred face, and a mustache.
Their piercing gazes and the aura of battlefield-hardened warriors were unlike the refined demeanor of the central nobles, causing the latter to shrink back in intimidation.
Queen Carlina, however, remained expressionless as she faced the intruders.
She had already anticipated this development.
“What is your business, Marquis Hoshiros? I do not recall granting you permission to attend this meeting.”
“Well, you see, we find it quite inappropriate to discuss a ceasefire behind our backs. I have come to offer some advice.”
“Speak.”
“We will crush those rabid dogs ourselves—a ceasefire is unnecessary.”
The Hoshiros family was one of the marquis houses directly bordering Ortenos, which had become part of the empire.
They were the most combat-oriented nobles in the Kingdom of Naia and had been engaged in bloody conflicts with Ortenos for years.
Although they maintained a noble façade, their intense hatred for Ortenos was undeniable.
“The ceasefire with Ortenos is already a settled matter. Further discussion is unnecessary.”
Chancellor Gianluca responded firmly to Marquis Hoshiros’ insolent words.
Gianluca was the head of the Padoan ducal house, the leading central noble family, and a man highly trusted by the royal family.
After a tense standoff, Marquis Hoshiros relented.
“Very well. But we must be included in the negotiations. That is only fair, is it not?”
“The delegates have already been chosen. There will be no changes.”
“That is unacceptable. We, the Hoshiros, are the ones who stand to lose the most from this ceasefire. To ignore our interests and entrust everything to this mere girl is utterly unjust. It is completely unacceptable.”
Marquis Hoshiros glared at Luna.
Many dismissed Luna’s selection as a mere formality to build her credentials.
However, the fact remained that Luna had successfully convinced the central nobles to agree to the peace talks.
She could not remain silent in the face of such accusations.
“It is not unjust, Marquis Hoshiros. The conflict with Ortenos began because your house acted independently. On top of that, you lost Bangwall. You have no right to interfere.”
“Hmm, I see you have quite the conviction. If not for that unfortunate incident, you might have made a fine leader. But such things are irrelevant, Luna. What matters is not what you say, but what you do.”
Marquis Hoshiros began gathering magical energy.
His followers behind him also assumed battle stances.
“Y-You would turn the audience chamber into a battlefield?!”
“That depends on your response.”
Gianluca panicked.
The Hoshiros family had fought Ortenos for years and were formidable warriors.
If they unleashed their magic, they would surely be executed as traitors.
Yet, Marquis Hoshiros was dangerous enough to go through with it.
Just as the tension reached its peak, Queen Carlina made a proposal.
“Very well, Marquis Hoshiros. You may send two representatives to the peace talks.”
“Mother?!”
Luna was taken aback by her mother’s decision.
Having Hoshiros involved in the negotiations was the worst possible scenario for her.
“Hmm, I am pleased you understand. We will continue to swear loyalty to the Naia royal family.”
Marquis Hoshiros gave a rough bow and briefly exchanged glances with Albert.
Luna saw this and realized that Albert had orchestrated this interference.
Her frustration was immeasurable.
“Well then, Lady Luna, I look forward to seeing you again at the peace talks.”
“…”
With a victorious smirk, Marquis Hoshiros left the chamber.
A young noble who was acquainted with Luna cast a worried glance at her before reluctantly following after the marquis.

The Queen’s Chambers.
Still dissatisfied with the outcome of the royal council, Luna visited her mother, Queen Carlina.
“Mother, why did you allow Marquis Hoshiros to participate?”
“Simple. Sending you to the peace talks alongside him will be interesting. That is all.”
Queen Carlina spoke while facing away from Luna.
Her attendants helped her remove her royal garments, leaving her completely bare.
Her well-defined physique closely resembled Luna’s, though her fuller thighs accentuated her curves even more.
Seeing her mother prepare for another engagement, Luna deduced she had further plans for the night.
“With him involved, the negotiations will be impossible. We must reconsider the participants—”
“Luna, you misunderstand something.”
Carlina cut her off and approached her slowly.
“The Naia royal family does not necessarily need a ceasefire.”
“What?”
“What we need is a strong successor. Do you understand what that means?”
“…Yes.”
Luna met her mother’s firm gaze, filled with royal authority.
“Luna, you are replaceable.”
“…!”
Luna clenched her fists, realizing the immense burden she had to bear.
