I Am The Third Party (GL) - Chapter 26
“What’s wrong with you…”
I hugged her tighter. “Don’t move, let me hold you for a moment.”
The person in my arms stiffened slightly, then let out a low breath. “I’m fine.”
Qi Xi slowly hugged me back, one hand gently patting my back, the other stroking my hair.
Ah—
I took a deep breath. Although the smell in this room was truly awful, it wouldn’t have been a problem if I hadn’t thought about it. But then I remembered that this awful smell was Qi Xi’s bl00d, and I felt angry and upset. It was unpleasant.
This guy is so unlucky. His hand injury just healed, and now he’s injured again, and it’s a large-scale glorious wound.
Seeing bl00d is fine, but it was New Year’s Eve, and everyone was happily sitting by the heater and eating “Niannian Youyu”. She was all alone, wrapped in gauze, guarding the bloody cotton on the floor. Could she be hoping to become the cotton king next year? Hmm, it was red cotton, so strange.
“Come.”
I placed a tassel cushion at the head of the bed and a soft pillow on top of it. I helped Qi Xi lean on it and pulled a coral fleece blanket over her.
The patient on the bed was wrapped in gauze and only wore a bathrobe. It was still wide open, but her round br3asts were tightly wrapped in bandages, which inexplicably exuded a sense of abstinence.
I said, “Mummy.”
She smiled bitterly. “I’m like this, and you’re still making fun of me?”
I don’t mean to make fun of you.
I lowered my eyelids, my gaze wandering over her protruding collarbone, her tightly bound br3asts, and the deep, squeezed ravine.
If you were a mummy, you would definitely be the most terrifying mummy in the world. You don’t need any spells or curses to have your heart firmly in your grasp.
“Does it still hurt?” I reached out and gathered the collars of her clothes that were scattered on both sides of her shoulders. My fingertips brushed against her warm skin from time to time, and a tiny electric current ran along my fingers into my heart, making me feel numb and tingling.
“It’s okay. I just took some painkillers.”
I looked around and saw a small white bottle on the bedside table. I leaned over to pick it up and took a look. “Take less. Too much painkillers is not good.”
“Okay.”
“Would you like some water?”
“Okay.”
I got up and went to the living room to get a glass of warm water. I walked to the bedroom door and returned to the kitchen to add some sugar. I handed the water to Qi Xi. She squinted her eyes and took a sip slowly, sighing softly, “It’s so sweet.” “
You bled so much. I’ll give you some brown sugar next time.”
She smiled while holding the glass. She was unspeakably quiet and well-behaved like a good baby in kindergarten. “Okay.”
“Qi Xi.” I saw that something was wrong with her and pushed her shoulder. “You’re going to have another big scar on your waist. You said you have so many scars on your body. It’s so ugly. Who will like you in the future?”
“Okay.”
Oh my god, this person has bled too much and she’s stupid. She said “yes” to everything I said, and even said “yes” when I insulted her.
“Qi Xi, you’re not stupid, are you?”
I sat down on the edge of the bed and leaned over to look at her. She wasn’t stupid, but this look made me stupid.
As the night deepened, perhaps because of this, all the scenes gradually faded, like a ship sinking into the sea. Even the bright light above me was transformed into waves in my mind.
The sound of waves crashing against each other intoxicated me, creating the illusion of a continuous sinking.
In this hushed and tranquil environment, there was a person sitting quietly before me, her faint breaths faintly hitting my face. Her eyes stared at me without any emotion, absorbing all her gaze, leaving nothing behind. Her pupils were like black holes in the depths of the universe, sucking me in completely.
A hand brushed the hair away from my ear.
“It’s New Year’s Day today, you should be home for the reunion dinner.”
I tried to smile with my eyes, sniffing. “Since you knew, you made an offer to come back here?”
Qi Xi let out a faint snort, followed by a silly laugh. Maybe it couldn’t be called a silly laugh, but it sounded salty and savory to me.
Her hand moved from my ear to the back of my head, ruffling my hair.
This person is so annoying. She always likes to touch my hair, like I’m petting a dog.
Being treated like a dog is a minor issue; the worst part is ruining my hairstyle like this.
I raised my head, ready to tell her not to mess with my hair again. As I tilted my face upward, nose and mouth tilted forward, Qi Xi’s hand on the back of my head suddenly shoved me forward, our mouths crashing together.
My eyes widened in fear, but before I could even register her expression, I was startled by the smooth feel of her soft tongue licking across my lips. My mind went blank, and I passively accepted her every move. I opened my mouth stiffly, letting her tongue slither into my mouth, licking my teeth, the mucous membranes on both sides, and then even my tongue. The tip of her tongue pokes at my taste buds, then picks up my tongue, entwining it and stirring it.
I couldn’t think straight about what we were doing. My heart was racing like a wild horse in my chest, as if if I opened my mouth any wider, it would jump out and land in Qi Xi’s mouth.
Give it to her, I told myself. If my heart could burst, I’d give it to her.
I exhaled repeatedly, my body sliding downward. To prevent myself from falling off the bed, I quickly threw my arm around Qi Xi’s neck. She pulled her other arm from under the blankets and wrapped it around my waist, her oral assault intensifying.
They say first-time kissers struggle to breathe because they haven’t mastered the technique. I guess I’m one of those people who haven’t mastered it…
I’m literally suffocating, but this lack of oxygen isn’t like ordinary suffocation. If I had to describe it, I’d say it’s “drowning.”
After releasing her lips, I still clung to her neck, refusing to let go. I was afraid she’d turn her back on me and kick me out again.
Damn it! Have I gone from babysitter to 19/19 partner?
According to her rules, wouldn’t I have to pack up and leave tomorrow after this night?
Oh, what a year it’s been.
“Little fairy,” Qi Xi said, his voice a little hoarse, his hand gently pinching my earlobe.
My heart skipped a beat. It’s over. Are they going to kick me out now?
She continued, “I’ve become so strange.”
Huh—that’s good, she’s not going to kick me out…
I hugged her neck and buried my face in it, letting out a deep breath, silently amplifying my presence.
“It’s almost Chinese New Year, and I thought you should go home, so I stopped by your shop. I didn’t expect to see you, I just wanted to take a look. It’s no secret that I manage this street. Everyone in Group 17 knows about it, and no one has ever dared to come here before. I didn’t expect to run into it this time. I was crossing the street when a car passed in front of me. I was so busy dodging it that I didn’t notice what was behind me. Suddenly, a gunshot rang out. Luckily, I was quick, otherwise it wouldn’t have hit me in the waist.”
She chuckled softly.
I carefully pondered the meaning of her words, but no matter how I translated it, I couldn’t quite grasp the meaning.
There are some things she won’t say, so I won’t say them either. So be it.
As long as she’s okay, I’m fine.
“That’s easy. I’ll pick the best and feed you until you’re white and fat, so your injury will heal quickly. In a few days, you’ll be full of energy again. Don’t mess with anyone you want. Look, you helped me find a shop and waived my rent so I can live here. I can’t just live and eat for free, right? I’m still a competent nanny, huh?”
Qi Xi touched my face, stared at me for a while, and smiled. “Okay.”
I climbed out of bed, filled a basin with hot water, wiped her body, and washed her face and brushed her teeth. The service was very thoughtful. The emperors in ancient times rinsed their mouths themselves, and I treated her better than the emperor.
After sweeping up all the cotton balls and mopping the floor, I opened a window for fresh air, drew the curtains, and turned off the lights, leaving only a small orange light at the head of the bed. It’s been so long, it must be the second year already.
Happy New Year!
I was so tired I couldn’t even open my eyes, but I forced myself to take a shower. Back in the bedroom, I saw Qi Xi still trying to keep her narrow eyes open, trying to stretch them wider. I laughed and said, “Stop struggling. Your eyes won’t get any bigger than this.”
She glared at me, and I wisely shut up.
Since she was still so energetic, let’s get down to business.
I found my handbag, pulled out the envelope, and held it out to Qi Xi. “Here.”
Qi Xi blinked. “Red envelope?
” “Yellow envelope,” I said.
She chuckled at the yellow envelope and pulled out a piece of paper. Her silly expression froze.
