I Became the Butler of the Seventh Princess, Who’s Regressing Into a Child - Episode 14
Episode 14
After calming down a bit, I checked the drop items that had fallen where the Skeleton Lord had been.
There was a sword, shining in black.
Oh wow, a weapon dropped!
The Skeleton Lord’s drop rate isn’t that bad, but this is still exciting.
If I remember correctly, this weapon is… the Black Thunder Sword.
It’s a sword that can be equipped starting at level 5.
The jet-black blade gleamed coldly. And the moment I held it, I felt it fit comfortably in my hand. It has a guaranteed strength boost of +15. And since it’s a drop from a unique monster, there’s probably another enhancement as well.
From what I remember, the Skeleton Lord’s drops could give an agility boost of anywhere between +1 and +15, right?
These range differences can really make a difference. Which is why people go through the hell of trying to get the best possible drop from unique monsters. Equipment with the highest stat rolls often fetch a high price.
Well, I’m not planning to go that far with gear optimization like in the game. If the stat’s high, I’ll consider myself lucky.
I’ll need to have the weapon appraised, so I’ll get that done after I leave the dungeon.
The game-like aspect of getting equipment drops really adds to the fun.
With a grin, I tucked the sword into my item box and made sure to collect the remaining materials. As I did, I heard someone call out from behind me.
“Um…!”
Turning around, I saw Anfi coming towards me.
Oh, right, I’d totally forgotten about her.
I suddenly felt a bit embarrassed, realizing I’d been way too caught up in the moment.
“Thank you so much for saving us,”
Amphie said, bowing her head slightly. Her cheeks were flushing with embarrassment.
I waved lightly in response.
“Don’t worry about it. More importantly… is it alright if I keep these items that dropped?”
In MMORPGs, some troublesome players might start fights over loot even after being helped. So I figured I’d better ask just in case.
“Oh, please! Take them! You saved us!”
Amphie said, shaking her head vigorously and gesturing with her hands as if offering the items to me.
“I see. Thanks.”
Phew, looks like I avoided any unnecessary trouble.
“I’m heading out of the dungeon now… will you guys be alright?”
I glanced at her fallen companion. After looking at them, Anfi nodded with a small nod.
“…We’ll be leaving soon, too.”
“Alright. Be careful.”
“Yes. Really, thank you so much!”
Amphie gave another nod, then began helping her unconscious teammate out of the dungeon.
The exit wasn’t far, so they should be fine.
I, too, began making my way to the entrance to leave the dungeon alone.

After escaping the dungeon, I checked my status.

Oh, I leveled up to 5 already.
It seems the battle with the Skeleton Lord gave me a huge experience boost.
I’ve gained some stat points too, so now I can probably explore the lower floors of the [Black Swamp Cave] dungeon.
And then, I noticed a new entry at the corner of my window.
Switching screens, I saw it was a title tab.
Titles unlock at level 5, don’t they?
Titles are special rewards earned through actions, and equipping them grants status boosts or special effects against certain monsters. Some even provide useful skills, making them crucial in battle.
There are several title options available to me now.
However, once I choose a title, all other options will disappear. So selecting the right one is important.
Several titles were presented, but there’s no need to agonize over it.
The title I most likely obtained for defeating the Skeleton Lord is [Reckless Challenger].
This title is awarded to those who take down a much stronger unique monster while at a lower level, and it’s considered one of the best early-game titles.
It boosts all stats, making it viable until about level 50.
Even though I had other options, I chose [Reckless Challenger] without hesitation.
[Reckless Challenger] gives a massive 5% boost to all stats, making it an overpowered title.
At lower levels, fixed stat boosts are generally better than percentage-based increases. But at higher levels, percentage boosts offer greater benefits.
For now, this should be good enough. I still have some unspent stat points, but I can allocate them later if I encounter an enemy I can’t handle.
Next, I should head back to the guild to sell off the materials. And with the money I’ve gathered, I’ll get the Black Thunder Sword appraised.
Still, I have to say, this was a major success. Not only did I gain equipment and a title, but I also made quick progress like in the game.
That said, I’d rather avoid constantly risking my life like this. Ideally, I’d like to grow stronger safely and at a more relaxed pace.
