I Became the Butler of the Seventh Princess, Who’s Regressing Into a Child - Episode 15
Episode 15
I head to the guild to sell the materials and have my sword appraised, making my way to the reception desk. After joining the line of adventurers, my turn soon arrives.
“Could I sell some materials and have this sword appraised, please?”
“Understood.”
The woman at the reception responds with a bright smile. She was nodding as she starts inspecting the materials.
I begin taking out the items from my inventory—Shadow Wolf materials and magic stones. She checks each one and starts calculating the total.
“I’d like to use the money from the materials’ sale to pay for the sword appraisal.”
“Certainly. One moment, please. The sale of the materials amounts to 1,000 myra, and the appraisal fee is 500 myra. Does that sound acceptable?”
(Note: The currency in the Raw is roughly translated as “mana” or “manar” but I don’t like it. So I hope you guys don’t mind with “myra”.)
“That’s fine.”
I nod, and the receptionist takes the sword in her hands. She adjusts her glasses as she prepares to appraise it. While I wait, I feel the bustling energy of the guild around me. After a short while, the receptionist lets out a small breath and looks my way.
“Thank you for waiting. This sword is called the Black Thunder Sword, and it has a strength boost of +15 and agility +10. It can be equipped by anyone level 5 or higher.”
Wow, agility +10! It’s not S-rank, but it’s definitely worth an A-rank value.
“If you’d like, we could purchase this weapon for around 50,000 myra. What do you think?”
It seems the guild is keen to buy it since it’s a solid piece of equipment.
However, I have no intention of selling it.
“No, I’ll keep it for myself.”
“I see. In that case, here’s the 500 myra. Thank you!”
The receptionist looked slightly disappointed but didn’t press any further. I took the remainder of the money from the material sale and stored it in my item box. This will definitely make future adventures easier.
Now, I just need to head home. But before that, I need to consult with Elena about something. I forgot to ask if I can keep the weapon for myself. Given that I acquired it on my own, I assume it’s fine, but better to be sure.
—
Back at the mansion, I called out to Elena to consult with her. She was in the middle of carrying some things. So I helped her out as I asked my question.
“Thank you for helping me, Rondo-san. Is there something you wanted to discuss?”
“Yeah, I got a weapon drop in the dungeon. Is it okay if I keep it?”
Elena looked momentarily surprised but quickly smiled.
“Of course. You’re free to keep any items you acquire. As long as you return borrowed items or anything from the item box, that’s all that’s needed.”
“I see… got it.”
I felt genuinely relieved by Elena’s response. If I had to give up the weapon I worked so hard to get, I’d definitely be disappointed.
“By the way, did you store the items you borrowed in the item box?”
“Huh? Oh, yeah, I did.”
“Then I can take them to the storage for you, if you’d like.”
“Could you? That’d be great.”
“Of course. You’re still off-duty, so take your time and relax.”
Elena….. she’s so kind. I don’t know much about her character since we barely interacted in the game. But with her looks and personality, the developers really should have given her more storylines.
“By the way, it’s quite lucky that you got a weapon drop on your first day. Where were you leveling up?”
“I was at the [Black Swamp Cave].”
“Ah, I thought so. But don’t Shadow Wolves… not drop weapons?”
“No, I got it from the Skeleton Lord.”
As Elena had mentioned, Shadow Wolves don’t drop weapons. I chuckled awkwardly as I explained. And suddenly, Elena froze in place.
“Huh? W-What do you mean?”
…She’s incredibly surprised. In the game, the Skeleton Lord was a monster with plenty of strategies to defeat. But maybe that’s not the case in this reality.
“Um, I just happened to fight the Skeleton Lord, and it dropped the weapon…”
As soon as I said that, Elena rushed over to me and grabbed my shoulders. W-What the!?
“Are you hurt!?”
“Huh? Oh, no, I’m fine.”
Elena seemed extremely worried, so I moved my arms and legs to show her I was in one piece. Only then did she finally seem relieved, letting out a deep sigh.
“That’s… that’s good to hear. But you do realize that the Skeleton Lord is a Unique Monster, right? It’s incredibly dangerous. If you ever run into it again, please run away immediately!”
Elena’s voice held a touch of anger. I guess I really made her worry.
“Sorry about that. I just stepped in to help someone who was being attacked by monsters.”
……Though, honestly, I was partly aiming for that rare drop.
“That’s very admirable, but you’re still at a low level. You could’ve been taken down alongside them, you know?”
“Yeah, you’re right… I’ll be more careful from now on.”
……From now on, if I ever end up in a situation like that again, I think I’ll keep it quiet from Elena.
—
After finishing dinner that evening, I returned to my room for a bit of rest.
…It’s nighttime, but Lady Luciana hasn’t come by.
.
.
.
Huh?
Usually, this is about the time she’d come in saying something like “Babuu!” and clinging to me.
Maybe she had other things to do today.
I was a bit surprised, but… yeah, this is probably how things *should* be.
For now, I got to enjoy a rare, peaceful evening by myself.
