I Became the Butler of the Seventh Princess, Who’s Regressing Into a Child - Episode 27
Episode 27
As the sun rose, I once again stood face-to-face with Klaus-san in the garden. Today’s training would be a bit different; this time, Klaus would be on the defensive, while I’d be on the offensive.
“As I mentioned before, today you’ll be the one attacking. I’ll focus solely on defense.”
“Understood.”
With those words, I gripped my sword tightly. For the past three days, Karin had helped me in my dreams. She had tirelessly recreated Klaus-san’s movements for my training. Now it was time to see how well I could match up to him in reality.
I took a deep breath, planted my foot, and charged at Klaus. I swung my sword down with force.
—Clang!
Our swords clashed. Klaus-san’s sword blocked my strike effortlessly. But I didn’t stop there; I kept up a relentless barrage, swinging down repeatedly, slicing horizontally, and lunging forward. Yet, Klaus-san barely moved, deflecting every attack with ease. It seemed this level of assault wasn’t going to faze him.
I decided to unleash the power of my [Enchanter] ability. I infused my entire body with magic, activating the [Acceleration] skill to enhance my movements. Just as I would in a fight against a unique monster, I focused on using my skills. I activated [Pampering] as well, boosting my capabilities even further.
In a flash, I accelerated and swung my sword straight at Klaus-san’s weapon, only for him to evade it with a casual sidestep. Not yet…!
I swiftly pulled my sword back, pushing off the ground to reposition myself. I lured Klaus-san into a dodge, timing it perfectly with my strongest strike. His sword was knocked aside, falling to the ground with a clattering sound.
…..I did it.
I had managed to pull off the very move he’d used on me before. This marked a successful stage in today’s training. Klaus-san glanced down at his disarmed sword and then looked back at me.
“Hmm, so you used your skills,”
He commented calmly and briefly.
Uh-oh. Was I not supposed to use skills in this training?
“S-sorry… I wanted to make it as practical as possible, so I ended up using them,”
I said, lowering my head. After all, Klaus-san had used skills when attacking me. So I assumed it was fair game. But perhaps it wasn’t appropriate when focusing solely on sword techniques.
Klaus-san just gave a dismissive snort.
“No need to apologize. In fact, I assumed you didn’t have any combat skills since you hadn’t been using them.”
“I thought it would be better not to rely on them while sharpening my pure swordsmanship…”
“Each person’s skills are different. I can’t teach you swordsmanship incorporating skills that aren’t mine. So, if you have them, use them from the start. You use your skills when fighting monsters, don’t you? Then use them. Use whatever tools you have.”
“…..Understood.”
His words were oddly reassuring. It seemed that he was more bothered by the fact I hadn’t been using my skills at all until now. It made sense—since Klaus-san and I were so different in combat style, the best way to improve would be to incorporate my own skills in battle from the beginning.
“You’re wasting too much in your skill usage. Especially your magic control—you’re letting a lot of magic leak into the air. I can see it seeping out.”
“My magic… is leaking?”
Startled, I looked down at my hands. I could feel a slight, continuous release of magic across my body whenever I used my skills. But was it really so uncontrolled that he could see it?
“That’s right. Your control over magic is weak. To use it efficiently, first, focus on preventing it from escaping. Train yourself in manipulating magic.”
“Yes… Thank you.”
I managed a reply, though I wasn’t exactly sure where to start with controlling magic. Maybe I could find someone to teach me eventually…. another challenge for the future.
“We’re done for today. I’ll be back in three days. Make sure to review thoroughly.”
“Yes. Thank you very much.”
I bowed deeply, expressing my gratitude to Klaus-san. He gave a snort of acknowledgment before leaving the garden.
As I finished my training, I realized something had changed within me.
……Seems like I still have some energy left.
After my first training session with Klaus-san, I was completely exhausted and couldn’t move. But now, I actually feel like I’ve got some energy to spare. My stamina must’ve increased in addition to my stats. I still have work to do today. So I stretched lightly and started getting ready for my duties around the mansion.

(Lady Luciana’s Perspective)
While I was having breakfast in the dining hall, a man walked in. Though it was somewhat improper, he didn’t seem concerned. Klaus looked directly at me.
“Training’s finished?”
“Yeah. It went… reasonably well.”
“Reasonably, huh.”
A chuckle escaped me. Klaus rarely gives out compliments. So for him, “reasonably well” is practically the highest praise he can offer. The stubborn old man didn’t seem to appreciate my reaction. He crossed his arms with a frown.
“His magic control is a mess. Find someone who can train him.”
“Is that so….. That’s certainly a waste.”
Rondo is undeniably growing. And he’s the only one of my subordinates Klaus has acknowledged. He might even become the strongest asset among my people if things go well. So this is worth some thought. But who could I ask to help? I know plenty of magic users. But finding someone who could take on this request right away might be tricky.
As I considered this, Elena, who was serving me in the dining hall, spoke up.
“Pardon my interruption, but….. if you’d like, I could provide instruction in magic control. How about that?”
“Ah, that’s right. Elves are known for their skill with magic.”
“If it’s after work in the evening, I can make time for it.”
Evenings, huh. Since Karin started staying over with him, he’s had less time for me. But I guess this is worth the sacrifice. Watching Rondo grow has become something I look forward to. So I’ll put up with a little inconvenience.
“Alright. I’ll discuss it with Rondo, and we’ll decide what to do. I’ll give you the details once things are settled.”
“Understood.”
Elena smiled, looking somewhat pleased to accept the task. Klaus also nodded, satisfied, before heading out.
Honestly, he hasn’t changed a bit.
Rondo….. He’s advancing quickly. And he’s even managed to get along with my personal staffs.
Seems I’ve found quite the gem. I’m grateful for that night.
