I Became the Butler of the Seventh Princess, Who’s Regressing Into a Child - Episode 29
Episode 29
After days of training with Klaus-san, Elena, and Karin, I decided to take on a dungeon. Using a day off, I was ready to challenge the dungeon’s boss. In the game, you can only defeat the dungeon boss once per day. And it seemed the same was true here. Dungeon bosses offer better experience points and loot than usual monsters. If I can beat one, I’ll be able to gain experience points even more efficiently.
This would also be a good chance to see how much I’ve progressed.
Standing at the dungeon entrance in the early morning, I took a deep breath to steady myself. It was time to test the fruits of my training.
Following the map I had memorized in my mind, I advanced straight through the dungeon. I swiftly dispatched any monsters that appeared along the way. Shadow Wolves on the first and second floors, Lizard Skulls on the third and fourth. While I’ve fought these monsters before, they felt significantly easier this time. My swordsmanship, physical movement, and skills—especially my control over magic—had clearly improved. I was fighting far more efficiently.
I soon reached the stairs leading to the fifth floor. So I took a short break, hydrating and preparing to allocate my status points. Checking my stats, I saw I’d reached Level 15.

After balancing my status points, my durability was still a bit lacking. But with my equipment, I had enough stats to handle the dungeon boss. With hydration complete, I put my drink back in the item box. Now, I was ready to face the boss.
At the bottom of the staircase, a heavy door awaited. Behind it was the boss. Dungeon bosses, unlike unique monsters, have their own brand of strength. Although my game knowledge told me I had a good chance of victory, nothing was guaranteed.
Alright, here goes.
After a deep breath, I opened the door.
The room was large and circular, almost like a coliseum. In the center stood a humanoid monster with unusually long limbs and glowing red eyes.
“So, you’ve come, challenger. I am the master of this dungeon, the Demonic Knight.”
The Demonic Knight spoke as he drew his sword and took his stance. Some dungeon bosses could talk, it seemed.
“Now, let’s begin. Come at me from any direction!”
With a wicked smile, the Demonic Knight pointed his massive sword at me. For such slender arms, he wielded that gigantic sword with surprising ease.
I unsheathed my sword and faced him. I then kicked off the ground.
As I charged, I activated my abilities as an [Enchanter]. Using [Acceleration] and [Strength Enhancement], I boosted my stats to close the distance rapidly.
“Ha! Quite the speed, I must say!”
The Demonic Knight quickly responded, swinging his sword down. I dodged and countered, using the movements I’d mastered during training along with [Guard Break].
“…..Hm!?”
The debuff had taken effect, lowering his defenses. With their high health, dungeon bosses require a strategy of piling debuffs and chipping away steadily.
The Demonic Knight swung his sword in a wide arc. Writing “ちょうやく” (Chuuyoku), I activated [Jump] and countered with a [Fire Arrow]—”火矢”(Hiya). He blocked the spell with his sword. But while his view was obstructed, I maneuvered to his side and struck with my blade.
“Ugh… you’re skilled!”
He let out a yell, swinging his massive sword wildly around him. I stepped back, blocking as I retreated from his sweeping attack.
Sparks flew as our swords clashed. Amidst our exchange of techniques, I observed the Demonic Knight’s patterns and quirks in movement. Spotting a slight opening, I launched a full-force attack.
…My knowledge from the game was proving useful.
I focused on the gaps in the Demonic Knight’s attacks, exploiting them to land consecutive strikes that made him flinch. By accurately gauging when I could stagger him, I maximized the damage I could deal over time.
Ordinarily, dungeon bosses are meant to be taken down in multiplayer—it’s not just because of their high health. When all attacks are focused on a single player, the onslaught becomes too overwhelming to handle alone.
But I read every move perfectly, dodging as if I were anticipating his actions. And I launched my own counterattacks. Being able to fight like this solo was thanks to my training.
Every motion was efficient, minimizing waste. I remembered my first fight with Klaus-san, where his speed had seemed impossibly fast—almost like he existed in a different flow of time. But that wasn’t the case. By refining my movements, I could reduce the time between our attacks. This small difference added up, giving me an increasing edge with each exchange.
“Urgh…!”
“It’s over.”
As the Demonic Knight attempted to block my strike with his massive sword, I slipped to his side and slammed my blade down on him.
“Gahhh! Impossible…!”
With a single, precise strike, I cut across the Demonic Knight’s abdomen. He released a dark mist in place of blood. His body wavered, then dissolved into mist and disappeared.
“……”
Just as planned. I managed to defeat him without any issues.
Exhaling lightly, I gathered the materials he dropped. Though I didn’t get any equipment this time, I’d been lucky enough so far. Defeating the boss triggered a magic circle on the fifth floor—a special feature available only to the one who defeats the boss.
This magic circle allows fast travel, warping me straight to the entrance on the first floor.
“…….If only I had realized I’d been reincarnated sooner.”
Then maybe I could’ve avoided all that debt.
With a small sigh, I stepped onto the magic circle.
