Training finished, I returned to the mansion.

Now then, what should I do? Today, Lady Luciana’s assigned attendant is Karin.

Elena has a full day off, and I’m only on standby to fill in for Karin during her breaks. Outside of that, I’m just doing regular work like the other servants. To be honest, the mansion runs smoothly enough even if we, the assigned attendants, aren’t around.

Occasionally, there’s an irregular situation where I help out. But mostly, I don’t have much to do. Still, sitting around idly would be a waste. As I wandered the mansion in search of work, I spotted Rinyan carrying a load. She was moving at a slow, steady pace.

……Looks like Rinyan and the others have already started their work. Unlike me, most of them have some prior experience as servants. So they’re working without much guidance after a little orientation on their first day.

However, she was carrying quite a lot. And watching her made me a bit worried. Curious about her, I decided to call out.

“Are you okay? Want a hand?”

“Oh, Rondo… I’m fine. Just taking it to the warehouse…”

She said that, but her steps were unsteady. They weaved slightly. …Worried, I went ahead and took the load from her without waiting for a reply.

“If you drop it, it’ll be a hassle. I’m free right now, so don’t worry about it.”

“…..Thank you.”

With a polite nod, Rinyan thanked me.

Together, we headed to the warehouse—not the underground one for equipment but the storage area where general items were kept. We arrived and began unloading her cargo.

The warehouse was a bit dusty. It wasn’t used that often, but… maybe I should clean it while I’m here.

With that thought in mind, I glanced at Rinyan. Her light, almost white hair swayed slightly, and her frame was slender.

She gave off a fragile impression, yet she had surprisingly soft-looking thighs despite her slim figure. No doubt, she resembled the character from the game.

In the game, she had a complex backstory. I wondered if she, too, carried some hidden burdens? Lady Luciana and the others each had their own unusual quirks. Unlike them, perhaps Rinyan was just an ordinary girl.

After all, the game had no questionable content that would raise age restrictions or anything like that.

I hope there’s nothing, but… I can’t help but stay cautious around her. The details of Rinyan’s character from the game still lingered in my mind.

“Hey, Rondo.”

“…..What is it?”

“…..Does being an assigned servant come with a good salary?”

“You’re asking something big out of the blue.”

“I’m curious.”

She looked over with genuine interest, and I couldn’t help but chuckle.

“Yeah, the pay’s probably better than usual.”

“…Oh, that’s appealing.”

“But with it comes more responsibilities and tasks. If anything happens, it’s our duty to protect Lady Luciana.”

Though the soldiers are around, there could be situations where they can’t act. …For example, if something happened while Lady Luciana was in my room during her regressions, I’d have to handle it alone.

“I see… good pay, but it sounds hard…”

“Do you need money?”

“Yes. You can never have too much. It means more food.”

“…Well, fair enough.”

“I also heard from the other servants that you sometimes work as an adventurer. Do adventurers make a lot?”

“Haven’t you registered?”

“I have, but I haven’t been active lately. It’s unstable.”

“…Yeah, it’s hard unless you’re strong enough.”

“Yes, it is. I have a younger sister who’s often ill, so I need the money.”

I remembered seeing that as her reason on her application. She looked as distant as always, but there was a subtle urgency in her voice.

Maybe, it’s not that she loves money but that she has to earn it to support her sister.

“…..That must be tough.”

“It’s not, really. I can do my best for my sister.”

“That’s good, then. Lady Luciana isn’t a bad person, and the others here aren’t… really strange or anything. So I’d say this is a decent workplace.”

There was a slight pause because, in my mind, I’d pictured a certain trio.

Lady Luciana, Elena, and Karin. Each with their unique quirks—Lady Luciana with her baby regression, Elena’s M tendencies, and Karin’s obsession with dressing me up.

That said, it’s unlikely Rinyan would have to indulge any of their quirks directly.

“I see. If that’s the case… then that’s a relief.”

When I said that, Rinyan gave a small smile. There’s still a lot I don’t know about her. But if her words about working hard for her sister are true, I genuinely feel like I want to support her.
