I Can't Fall for My Own Wife Again After Reincarnation, Right? (GL) - Chapter 15
The next day, Xu Yingran woke up with a hangover.
She was lying sprawled out on her bed. The fan wasn’t on, she was still in her school uniform, and her whole body was soaked in sweat. Her head buzzed from the heat.
Damn it, what happened to her?
Xu Yingran sat up on the bed and looked around the room in confusion. She scratched her head.
She sat there for about five minutes before the memories of last night slowly came back to her.
She seemed to…
Push Fu Qiao against the wall while drunk, tried to kiss her, and even called her “my wife.”
**Xu Yingran: “!!!!!”**
Oh my god!
Xu Yingran jumped up from the bed in fright. She held her head, trying to remember how she even got home last night.
Her memory only went as far as Fu Qiao asking her, “Do you know who I am?” and her replying, “You’re my wife~”
Ahhhhh!!!
How could she say something like that in front of Fu Qiao?!
Even if Fu Qiao *was* her wife, things weren’t like before. Saying that now would definitely scare her!
And thinking about last night—hugging Fu Qiao, calling her “wife” again and again—unless Fu Qiao was deaf, she must’ve heard it all clearly.
**AHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!**
Xu Yingran was like an ant on a hot pan, anxiously pacing back and forth.
She had just told herself not to repeat the mistakes of the past. She had decided to be just like family with Fu Qiao and never get involved romantically again.
But how long had it been?
Now here she was, hugging Fu Qiao and calling her “wife,” even trying to kiss her.
It was a miracle Fu Qiao didn’t slap her twice!
Just thinking about how she would have to see Fu Qiao again today made Xu Yingran want to dig a hole and bury herself.
“Ranran, are you awake?”
Zhao Yu knocked on the door after hearing movement in her daughter’s room.
“You drank so much last night. It was Qiao who brought you home.”
When Xu Yingran heard that, she shivered and asked nervously,
“Mom, did… Fu Qiao say anything when she brought me back?”
“Not really,” Zhao Yu answered from outside the door.
“I wanted to change your clothes for you last night, but you were too heavy for me to lift. Your dad was working the night shift, so I didn’t change you. Get up and take a shower, don’t go to school all sweaty. I’m going downstairs to buy breakfast.”
Hearing Zhao Yu’s answer, Xu Yingran finally felt a little relieved.
Even though she didn’t know what Fu Qiao really thought, at least she didn’t tell her parents.
Well, that made sense.
Who could bear to talk about being kissed by their childhood friend while drunk?
Especially someone like Fu Qiao, who was shy.
Xu Yingran thought she should talk to Fu Qiao and apologize.
She had to make sure Fu Qiao wouldn’t say anything—to anyone, especially not her parents.
After showering and getting ready, Xu Yingran kept glancing outside starting at 7 a.m., making Zhao Yu look up at her several times.
“Hey hey hey,” Zhao Yu tapped Xu Yingran’s bowl with her chopsticks.
“Drink your soup. Why are you leaving the last few sips?”
Xu Yingran quickly picked up the bowl and finished the soup, then said, “I’m heading out.”
“You’re not waiting for Qiao to come get you?” Zhao Yu asked.
“I…” Xu Yingran paused and said, “I’ll go find her.”
She walked out and quickly arrived at Fu Qiao’s home.
She leaned close to the door, trying to listen. She could faintly hear movement inside—there were people at home.
Usually, it was always Fu Qiao who came to get her. This was Xu Yingran’s first time waiting outside Fu Qiao’s house.
After two minutes, Fu Qiao opened the door.
When she saw Xu Yingran standing there, she was a bit surprised.
Xu Yingran looked nervous and awkwardly said,
“Good morning.”
Fu Qiao didn’t say anything. She glanced at her, then quickly closed the door and said,
“My parents are sleeping. Don’t talk at the door.”
Hu Mei and Fu Jun, Fu Qiao’s parents, usually worked until late at night. They would prepare skewers and pack things after closing the stall, so they wouldn’t get home until 4 or 5 a.m. Daytime was their rest time.
Fu Qiao took a box of milk from the delivery box and started walking downstairs without looking back.
Xu Yingran felt a bit guilty. She quickly caught up and said,
“About last night… you didn’t tell anyone, right?”
Fu Qiao inserted the straw into the milk and took a sip without answering.
Since she didn’t speak, it meant she accepted the apology.
Xu Yingran finally felt relieved.
She continued,
“I’m really sorry. I didn’t mean to do that last night. I didn’t know I’d get drunk so easily. Just one bottle of beer and I was out.”
Fu Qiao looked at her, then stopped and asked,
“You really… got drunk last night?”
Xu Yingran was stunned. She quickly nodded,
“Yeah, I was drunk. I couldn’t even recognize people. I don’t really remember what I said to you. If I offended you in any way, please don’t be mad.”
Fu Qiao held the milk and stayed quiet for a while before asking,
“So last night… you mistook me for someone else?”
Xu Yingran thought, *How could I ever mistake you, my wife?*
Even if she were drunk or turned to ashes, she’d still recognize Fu Qiao and call her wife from the grave.
But she couldn’t say that now.
She had to stop this before it got worse.
“Yes,” Xu Yingran said.
“I mistook you for someone else last night.”
Fu Qiao’s hand trembled slightly. After a while, she looked up and asked,
“But didn’t you just say you were too drunk to remember anything?”
Xu Yingran froze. Then she saw Fu Qiao quickly walking out of the neighborhood.
She rushed after her, saying,
“Fu Qiao, I really don’t remember. I really mistook you for someone else. Please don’t be mad.”
In the past, Fu Qiao would soften whenever Xu Yingran apologized.
But this time, for some reason, she just kept walking faster and didn’t respond at all.
Xu Yingran realized—this time, Fu Qiao was truly mad.

When they got to the classroom, the students weren’t sitting at their desks.
They were chatting in small groups.
“Did you hear? Chen Yu got punished. I heard she got a major demerit and is under school observation.”
“Huh? What did she do to deserve that?”
“That goes on your record, right? How’s she gonna take the college entrance exam like that?”
“With her grades? You think she can get into college anyway?”
“True… but what did she do to get punished so badly?”
“I heard that—”
Just as Xu Yingran was trying to listen closely, the bell for morning self-study rang.
The homeroom teacher, Li Yuwen, entered right on time and said to the class,
“Everyone, focus on your self-study. Xu Yingran, come with me for a moment.”
