I Have been Reincarnated As a Lazy, Arrogant Noble, but When I Destroyed The Scenario Through Effort, I Became The Most Powerful With Extraordinary Magical Power - 16
016 – First Day at The Academy
The acceptance letters arrived in spring. As expected, Cynthia also passed, and it was not surprising that Lillith made it through as well.
A bit surprising, however, was the news from Zebis that the protagonist, Alan, whom I had thoroughly defeated, also passed. I couldn’t tell if it was due to the world’s compulsion or if someone had discovered his exceptional talent.
I still couldn’t decide. Should I become friends with him, or should I crush him instead?
Perhaps because I now knew I was a strong individual, I was experiencing what the great thinker meant when he unraveled the theory of human wickedness.
Well, whatever happens will happen.
While Noblesse Academy allowed students to commute from their mansions, I decided to live in the dormitory. Father was feeling lonely about it, but he’s hardly ever home due to his diplomatic work, so I teased him about that.
If I had told him which one of us was more important, I could have really made things difficult for him.
On the first day of school, I dressed in a pure white haori, adorned with the symbol of Noblesse Academy and golden embroidery. My pants were black, and my shoes looked like leather shoes, but they were stretchy and comfortable.
As for the girls, they naturally wore skirts, emphasizing Cynthia and Lillith’s beautiful figures. Oh, and their thighs were white…
Anyway…
“Isn’t this carriage a bit cramped for the three of us?”
“I actually prefer it this way!”
“Oh, Weiss, you seem more approachable today.”
Somehow, Alan had appeared behind us, smiling cheerfully. Next to him, Sherry looked timid, probably because she had witnessed our mock test.
It seems like the others found our match a bit excessive.
“Hey, you got in too, huh?”
“Yeah! Even after you beat me up so badly… But I’m glad. I wanted to meet you again. No, I wanted to fight you… I guess that’s my true feeling.”
He blushed slightly, scratching his right cheek while speaking in a carefree manner, though his good-natured appearance was the exact opposite of his words.
But for some reason, I found it irritating.
“Weiss-sama, the breeze feels nice. Would you like to sit by the window?”
“Sure.”
“The weather is wonderful, isn’t it?”
We wrapped up the conversation and were urged by Lillith and Cynthia to take our seats.
Nervousness, anxiety, excitement — my heart was swirling with emotions, making it feel delightful.
“Weiss Fancent-kun, Lillith Scarlett-san, Cynthia Violette-san.”
Just then, as Cynthia was teasing me about how soft my cheeks were, a guy appeared in front of me.
Gorgeous blonde hair, a melodious voice, a handsome face… Oh, right, it was Louis.
“I’m Louis Meissen of the Meissen family. I watched your tests from the side… You guys were amazing. Especially Weiss-kun, they say you set a record.”
Ah, that’s right. I remembered the name now.
He was a cheerful, handsome character in the original story.
The Meissen family specialized in earth attribute magic, passed down from generation to generation.
It’s not a bad idea to be friends with them, but I never really liked him in the original story.
I wondered how I should respond to him. Well, I guess a simple “Nice to meet you too” will do.
And just as I was thinking that, Cynthia said…
“Weiss-sama seems busy right now, so why don’t you sit alone and quietly gaze at the ceiling?”
I didn’t quite get what she meant. Is my cheek that busy?
But wait, Lillith’s intense glare is also quite something.
She might not have a noble title, but she doesn’t seem like she wants to hide her hostility.
“Ah, sorry. Louis-kun, maybe next time.”
“I-I’m sorry for getting in the way!”
Louis-kun walked away, sniffling, and I feel a bit bad. But well, it’s the first day, so I’ll let it slide.
After that, while Cynthia was saying that my earlobes feel nice, the chime rang.
The door opened in the next moment.
To my surprise, it wasn’t the teacher I had in mind.
But perhaps fortunately or unfortunately, if it’s her, Alan might disappear as early as today.
She was a tall woman with glasses, and her silk-like purple hair was swaying.
Her outfit looked like a suit that emphasized her style, but it probably had to be specially made for this era.
“First of all, congratulations on your enrollment. Nice to meet you all. I’ll be in charge of this class, Chloe. Please take care of me.”
Her speech lacked any intonation, and her fast pace seemed to suggest that she wouldn’t entertain any questions. That’s her trademark.
She was originally supposed to be in charge of a different class, but in a way, this works out well.
Without saying a word, she started writing numbers on the blackboard.
1000 –
While the students were getting excited, Chloe faced us and snapped her fingers.
In the next moment, the back of all our hands started to shine.
The numbers that appeared were the same as the ones written on the blackboard.
Except for me.
“1000, this is the number of points allocated to each of you. However, Weiss Fancent, you have 2000 points based on your test results. This reflects the academy’s expectations.”
I was already standing out from the start, but that’s fine. This kind of measure might be necessary.
Academy stories are boring.
That’s the common knowledge in the original world.
Limited activities in a closed space, and so on.
The reason why Noblesse Oblige became popular was because of this system.
And why Weiss Fancent was called the most wicked person might be because of this points system.
“What do you mean? I don’t understand.”
“What are these points? Are they like grades?”
Naturally, those who didn’t understand started making a fuss.
Other than me, they don’t know much. The academy’s rules are kept secret, and leaking information is not allowed.
Even Cynthia and Lillith don’t fully understand what’s going on.
They just went through training with me.
They’re not panicking over something like this.
“These are just measurements. However, they will stick with you until you graduate.”
“Teacher, please just get to the point.”
“Yeah, we don’t get it.”
“Please explain.”
Chloe hates being interrupted the most.
Most students are nobles, not necessarily villains, but there are many arrogant ones.
Chloe touched the frame of her glasses. This is a sign that she’s angry.
Everyone is figuratively tightening their own nooses, but well, it’s amusing.
“Yes, I understand. I was planning to explain in detail, but if you wish, let’s move on to a practical test right away.”
With just one sentence, many boys and girls cheered.
“Let’s go with that. Complications are a bother.”
“Yeah, it’s easy.”
“Calculating points sounds like a hassle.”
But they can only be this relaxed for now.
If they truly understand the real meaning, they’d be screaming in agony.
“I mentioned earlier that I said congratulations on your enrollment, and that is exactly what it is. I did not say that I will take care of you until you graduate.”
In the next moment, everyone fell silent.
Chloe answered without missing a beat.
“When your points reach zero, you will be expelled from the academy. Well, for today’s test… Let’s make it until someone’s points reach zero.”
